I raise you your transfem Zuko against my nonbinary Aang. Zuko's dysphoria and sense of being a girl confusing Aang who's like "you guys have been feeling gender???" And launching Aang's realization that, oh, that's why it feels weird when people call me a boy. And Aang's absolute disconnect from gender making them accidentally the most validating for Zuko because as far as they're concerned, Zuko is Zuko and she looks very pretty in a royal dress, Aang sees absolutely nothing strange about this.

okay so zukka au i started thinking about while listening to drugs by upsahl. so zuko is like a rich kid who goes to parties and does drugs etc (you know the type) and sokka is friends with aang who’s also a rich kid but the two of them just hang around the parties and smoke weed. zuko and sokka meet and dim where else to go from there but i really like the idea of it! (also i feel like aang would probably be nonbinary in this)

Since it's been on my mind more, I am gonna share my nonbinary Aang headcanon. I think Aang is the chillest brand of nonbinary. The kind that doesn't even bother identifying with anything or hard-changing pronouns. People can call him whatever they like, he do not care, gender is made up anyway. Someone tries to ask what gender he is and he just shrugs and moves on with his day. The only real indicators that he's nonbinary and not just gender nonconforming is the fact that he actively either includes himself with both genders (like, as I said, hanging out with both exclusively boy groups and exclusively girl groups) or neither gender, and if someone tries to split a group by gender he gets momentarily confused before just going with whichever group he feels like makes the most sense for the context (read as: the group he has the most friends in). He also instinctively responds to both 'ladies' and 'gentlemen' because all he's hearing is 'I need people's attention and you are a people'. The only time he'd verbally acknowledge it is if someone tried to accuse him of doing something unmanly to which he'd just be like "well I'm not a man so that works" and, again, if asked to clarify what he is then, he'd just shrug and move on with his day.

The CHILLEST of the nonbinaries. Basically, the energy I wish I had.

Back on my nonbinary aang bullshit, but I love how much of the fandom fw nonbinary Aang. Nobody thinks this boy has boy in him. Kataang shippers keep making it yuri. I've seen taang shippers also have nonbinary flavored yuri. Plenty of nonshippers hc him as nonbinary. I feel like most people who aren't in general queerphobic toward nonbinary people can see the nonbinary aang thing, even if they don't hc it themselves. Aang is the nonbinary representation we should have had smh but the writers were COWARDS /j

ee all the sexuality and gender hcs are so fun!! for me almost every character is extremely bisexual(/pan/omni/etc) <3 i unfortunately dont have many trans hcs for characters but trans masc Zuko is lovely, and transfemme Katara is wonderful <3, love nonbinary/agended Aang as well <3

ATLA is just extremely queer to me and its fun to see others agree in some ways :D
