Pretty cool to see a scene like this on a relatively mainstream tv show where the character everyone has assumed was a lesbian came out as bisexual, pansexual, nonmonosexual, and queer. I think it’s a nice scene. ❤️

Nonmono- Pride Flag

Non-monoattractional: someone who isn’t monoattracted; not feeling attracted strictly to just one gender; not being homo/gay/lesbian, hetero/straight, gyne-, cetero-, andro- or (wo)ma-.

This isn’t the same as pluralian/multi-, since it includes aspec/anattractional people. Also known as monodissidente in West Iberian languages. ~ ap

Hey Arin. Just messaging you to tell you and your lovely followers that I can absolutely recommend the new book "How Queer! Personal narratives from bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, sexually-fluid, and other non-monosexual perspectives." ($15 on amazon) what you get is exactly what the title says: People of different gender identities and with different social and cultural backgrounds tell their personal stories of coming to terms with being bi+. It's great to read and already helped me a lot :)

I think what gay and lesbian individuals need to understand is,when we say you experience monosexual privilege, we aren’t saying multisexuals are “more discriminated against” than you. Privilege isn’t universal. Minorities can experience both discrimination and privilege in different areas. If someone calls you out for your privilege, accept it. Don’t try and turn this into oppression Olympics.

Do you believe in monosexual privilege?

I think that the idea of monosexual privilege was something that I had an understanding of on more of a subconscious level and that I hadn’t put words to until you asked me this. It makes sense that people who are attracted to one gender have a bit of an easier time in life than those of us who aren’t. I’m not sure if I can say that I believe in a perfect idea of such a privilege, because a lot of the so-called monosexual privilege checklists that I’ve found (and by the way, most of the links I found about the topic were simply checklists) conflate monosexual and heterosexual privilege. I don’t think it’s entirely fair to say that a gay or lesbian person has the same level of privilege as a straight person, but such orientations are certainly more readily accepted and understood by the general populous. 

So, I guess the short answer would be yes-ish.
