Played a couple of practice lobbies with Luna!

I only really gave her a try because a few of the "noob squad" were up for playing a bot match both last night and this afternoon (we didn't feel we had the time for a potentially long game vs. people), so I asked one of them, Joe, if he could give me some guidance on Luna since he plays her frequently. He did so and I realized it's A LOT OF FUN.

It was quite a shock to be playing as a proper Carry as opposed to when I semi-carried as Windrunner, and it was also tricky getting used to being in a lane by myself. Another thing I had to get used to was runes! I've never before really used them so it was quite a big mechanic for me to try and take in- first of all, remembering to buy a bottle but also getting used to checking them at the 2 minute intervals, deciding whether I will benefit from it, or even getting it just so the other team can't. Trying to pick them up after the 2 minute mark with intent to combo it with the next rune is an interesting "game", too, and it does yield interesting results.... Double Damage Haste Luna anybody?

I feel like I could try playing her in a Match game because I quite quickly got the hang of last-hitting with her. I also think that I'm personally getting better at realizing at which point I should stop laning and start roaming a little more- maybe collecting a little bit of free farm or heading into the jungle if it's safe.

All in all, even though I'm nowhere near good yet, I do feel these past handful of games (not just with Luna) have been pretty beneficial for learning~!

The "noob squad"-- AKA Who Fables plays Dota with.

I post a lot of garble about my games and I also mention people that I play with! So for anyone interested, these are the people I frequently play with and/or the people that actually got me into Dota! The Noob Squad I was the fifth "addition" to the self-titled noob squad, (if you don't include Jack because I don't think he's actually part of it?) basically because my IRL best friend Carrie (Teehee111) introduced me to 3 or her IRL friends- Martyn, Joe and Keiran who all Dota together~ they're all <level 10ish so still pretty new, and are pretty much the ones I play with most. If I felt cheeky I'd say that Joe was probably the best out of all of us, and I'm definitely the worst. Martyn is probably just a fraction better than I am which is good because we can learn together :D

Other Peopleeeee

I learned most of what I know about Dota that I didn't learn from playing games from two people-- Chris (aka VeNzorrR) who is my IRL boyfriend and a lot better at Dota than me, and Kristian (aka KKrumpet) who is Carrie's IRL boyfriend as well as Chris' housemate, whose skill level is probably the same as Chris'. They're both very helpful, especially when I start yelling "what should I be buying!!!" or "oh I don't know what to level" on a new character...

Oh yeah there's also Jack who is friends with the noob squad and plays when we need a gap filling, Chris occasionally plays on a second low-level account to also help me or fill gaps, Aceo is an IRL friend who also knows a lot because he spectates like a million games, and we've also started to gap-fill with Mittins too... I can't imagine I would mention anyone else but if I do I'll be sure to try and mention it :P
