Tajni sastojak bakinog recepta za štrudle je samo mala ispomoć u kuhinji. 🥰
The inspiration behind this work is a strange, nostalgic feeling for an authentic, old slavic kitchen. I didn't grow up in one, but I did live with my grandma when I was little, and baking together was our main activity to bond over. I also wanted to add a little fantasy twist to it. Ergo, the little dragons.
This is my biggest, most complicated and most detailed illustration I have made to this day. I have spent weeks working on it. While it was tedious to finish up every single detail by hand, I still had loads of fun. I have a tendency to give up from paintings as daunting as this one, but somehow I managed to stay motivated and finish it till the end. And I'm glad I did!
