The Calligraphy

So I’m doing a thing - or at least I’m going to try to. Every day I’m going to post one line (or however much I can fit) from the lyrics of Sleep Token songs in calligraphy onto a card with a link to my ko-fi. I’ll start with their most recent album and work through it before moving back.

Why am I doing this?

To condense a very long story, the four-plex I’m living in has been getting increasingly unsafe for me to be in. My landlords will not let me out of the lease unless I pay to break it - which is the equivalent of 3 months of rent, plus a 30 day notice, so effectively 4 months of rent. Plus other moving costs, I’m ball parking what I would need to get out of this situation at around $5,000. Needless to say, I don’t have $5,000 or I’d already be gone.

The Plan

I’ve posted my ko-fi link on my page, but I feel a bit guilty just asking for money continuously even though it’s money I need to get out of a shit situation. Ergo, a middle ground. I’ll have this ongoing project where I calligraphy a line of Sleep Token lyrics every day and those cards will be the only calligraphy cards where I post my ko-fi link. This way I’m not asking for something for nothing and it’s relatively unobtrusive. I’ll still take other free requests, still do my regular calligraphy, they just won’t have the ko-fi link on them. I am also working on opening a shop on ko-fi for if you want to buy a card from me as well. I just need to get a few more things in order.

How You Can Help

Donating, if possible, but if you can’t, then reblogging those cards or my original donation post really helps. I’m not against likes, but likes don’t put the link on other people’s dashes and the more people who see, the more help I can get.
