Nothing makes me feel like I'm getting a World's Best Butch award like doing a minor amount of spontaneous plumbing. Actually, anything involving using a screwdriver makes me feel pretty happy

Well, it’s not complicated.

Love is not complicated—just smile, hug, kiss, be kind, and repeat.

romance was born when Azriel carried the potatoes that is all.
Can I just say I have problems with these Fire Nation wedding clothes? Like, they’ve got red. Red is good. As Sokka would say, very Fire Nation-y. And red is considered good luck in Asian culture. Getting married in red is perfectly acceptable.
But they’re also white. Which would be great, if this were a western culture. It would make sense. But it’s not, and it doesn’t.
Remember this? In eastern culture (and, obviously, the Fire Nation) white is the color of mourning. It’s bad luck. Not something anyone should ever wear to a wedding.
(Just to be clear, I’m not Asian, I know very little about Asian culture, and I don’t claim to be an expert on their traditions. But even an uncultured swine like me can see that there’s something wrong here.)
This, of course means that if I ever write a wedding set in the Fire Nation in any one my fics, I will either not do this, or I’ll have to come up with an in-universe explanation as to why they’re wearing white.
..........it’s going to be the second, isn’t it? (Because I somehow end up taking all the little things that don’t make sense in canon and coming up with some logical explanation for them. Why do I do this to myself?)
