I think maybe Walhalla in Donaustauf, but I also really love the opera and Eremitage in Bayreuth.

Oooh, probably Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (Black Forest gateau)

I really like Hans-Werner Kettenbach’s style, but I’m actually also a big fan of… Goethe. Hermann Hesse is okay too, and I should probably mention the Grimm Brothers, since I’ve read almost everything written by them, haha.

13. does your country (or family) have any specific superstitions or traditions that might seem strange to outsiders? 

I just know that it’s very common for German people to think that you shouldn’t wish someone a happy birthday before their birthday, because it supposedly brings bad luck. Oh, and potato salad is a popular Christmas dish here - I’m sure lots of people would find that strange too.

16. which stereotype about your country you hate the most and which one you somewhat agree with? 

I agree with lots of stereotypes, actually, haha. Also, even though it’s sometimes greatly exaggerated it’s important to acknowledge that they are rarely completely unfounded. (Especially when it comes to neo-Nazis, because only a dead one is something we can ignore)

Btw, it’s definitely true that German people are, by comparison, pretty reserved and socially awkward, with a dry sense of humour.

It is fantastic, and you will love it. Woefully underappreciated, but it’s partially because it deals with themes that only older readers might fully grasp.

my friend, you have come to the right place. bartimaeus is the anti-hp. everything that exists in the hp universe (simple moral dichotomies, magical child prodigies, werewolves in hiding, questionably vague political systems) is fully fleshed out in bartimaeus*. there’s also no discourse in the bart fandom because everyone agrees it’s a great series with great characters who all did wrong and all did good. 

*up to and including respectful treatment of indigenous/cultural magical systems.

it's so funny to me that they always seemed to try to suppress zutara and yet wrote zuko tanking a lightning bolt for her...*obi-wan voice* youhavedonethatyourself

so many writers do this and it cracks me up ....... you didn’t have to do this ..... no one was asking for it, they’re your characters and you made them behave this way............
