This is the first of three posts we’ve made for my "Monster Harvesting" series, where I adapt creature abilities and lore into magical items you can wear and wield, Monster Hunter style. Carved from petrified wood and topped with a twitching green eye, this scepter reveals your allies’ most embarrassing secrets while helping you pry hidden weaknesses from your enemies. Just try to ignore the constant whispers in your head, or you might find yourself slipping into a short-term form of madness. Oh, and for legal reasons, this is definitely NOT an item made from a Nothic…

Imagine a paranoid warlock or a nosy bard using all this insight to keep the party in check while slowly losing their grip on reality.

I made an animatic for my partner's D&D character, Peregrine! You can find more of Peregrine's creator (my pookie) at @sunlithauntings :D and I'm the Dungeon Master

The story is about Peregrine's encounter with a Nothic who peered into his mind and made them relive their most treasured and terrible memories.

One of these memories was of a Tarot Card Reading from Nona the Diviner, a mentor to Peregrine. Each card laid out both the path of Peregrine's life, and the memories which the Nothic would visit.
