Angel Lucifer (original uncolored under the cut)
[ Tim squeezes his eyes shut, pained. He tries to pull away again, and this time Braxton doesn’t let him, dragging him back, holding Tim against his chest.
“You’re not on Simplex,” Braxton says. “I swear to God I won’t dose you again, I fucking,” he holds Tim by the hips, lowering himself to his knees in front of Tim, staring up at him deploringly. The position fills Tim with a quiet dread, his gorge rising. He tightens his grip on Braxton’s hands so they can’t reach for his pants. ]
I’M CRASHING TF OUTTTT
this was my FAVORITE paragraph of ch16. the learned dread. the helplessness. the way braxton physically manhandles tim into a proposal position, a position that puts the weight on tim to accept the plea their relationship to continue under physical threat because HE CANNOT MOVE AWAY and BRAX IS DEMONSTRATING HIS ABILITY TO HURT TIM AGAIN BY HOLDING HIM THERE:
[ What is Braxton going to do to him if he says no? What is going to happen if Tim says no? To Duke? To them? He knows what happens when Braxton is upset, what, does he think it’s going to be different than any other time? Braxton is on his knees, but he is so much stronger and bigger than Tim is.
Braxton searches Tim’s face, losing control over his expression, eyes narrowing. Tim makes himself smile, lets the tears clouding his eyes finally fall, trying for a laugh. He’s not sure if it works, if he’s appropriately overjoyed-looking, instead of just numb, but Braxton grins at him. ]
i’m sick. i’m sick over how well this part of the chapter shows tim’s abuse victim mentality, how DIFFICULT it really is to leave abusers, how trapped and fake and numb one feels in that situation especially when faced with an ultimatum like an engagement. and it IS an ultimatum, even if not directly stated, because tim is scared for his life. it’s marry me or else you don’t know what i’ll do, i could hurt you more or your brother or kill either one of you. you make me so crazy.
i have so many thoughts on this chapter but these were the ones that hit me hardest. amazing job to both of you brilliant authors omg
I'm chewing and chewing and chewing. Need 14 billion anaylsis of the proposal STAT. this was wonderful thank you

Hikari: I think I'm depressed.
Liam: That's good, that means you're paying attention.
"Why shouldn't Elizabeth walk away? Why shouldn't she run?"
Well first of all, that's Aunt Liz to you. And she definitely should because Nikolas is bound to do something even more stupid in his quest for a second chance at a family with the demon spawn. I could be reaching (I often am) but the passionate way Spencer asked this made me wonder if this is also him partially internalizing his fears about being like his father and wondering the same about Trina when it comes to him. He was pretty shocked when Trina let him in her house and he's clearly held onto every time he's failed her, it wouldn't be a total surprise if a part of him agrees with everyone else telling Trina to avoid him.
