I wonder if Dabi secretly—or could secretly—feel something for the noumu. I wonder if he recognizes they’re both experiments, meant to be used and are disposable, constantly replaced as needed with better, more fit and skilled noumu. I wonder if he would want to feel a connection to them, to maybe have outlandish ideas in the back of his head to stop the experimentation and free them. If they could be capable of what he isn’t but always wanted.

I wonder if he recognizes they’re much more successful than he ever was. Even the most basic noumu. If that makes him eager to use them himself, to let them be obliterated in battle. To utilise them for his wants. If he rejects any sort of kinship with them because they’re not born, they’re created. If he’s repulsed by their appearances. If he ever projects his self hate onto them. If he can then secondly connect with them through being, essentially, animated corpses. If he’s jealous that Ujiko gave them bodies. Actual bodies. Skin that won’t self destruct. Brains that don’t have to worry about their past or any of the annoying human emotions like guilt or fear or unwithering rage or endless pain. I wonder if he hates them just for that. I wonder if he feels some sort of need to prove he’s somehow better, because he’s still here, though dying, and those special experiments who regenerate without conscious keep dropping.

I wonder if this is only my pondering of my rendition of Dabi.
