Some fanart for one of my favorite reincarnation fics. A fan gets reborn in the TVDverse as Bonnie Bennett’s twin sister! I absolutely love Nova & Caroline’s friendship!!!😍🥰 +I was really bored last night So I ended up creating this and another piece late last night 😅

This isn't normal, but neither is she. She knows that she might die, again, but she'd be willing to die for them. She loves them, she's never been in love before and maybe she never will, but she loves them, her scooby-gang, her best friends. Follow this OC's journey in navigating The Vampire Diaries, see her lose herself, find herself, her friends and maybe even love.

nova bennett & rory gilbert. bad days, emotional hurt/comfort.
Rory was on the couch, curled up as small as she could make herself.
She could faintly smell the scent of coffee in the air, no doubt Nova making herself some aside from whatever was making her do that much of a racket.
She couldn't bring herself to move, to go see what the slightly older girl was doing. Could only bring herself to listen as she stared blankly at the tv. Things around town had been so chaotic lately, she was almost overwhelmed by it all. Today had been especially hard, with a new monthly anniversary since her parents death. Jeremy had asked for space and of course, she couldn't bring herself to say no to him. She didn't care what Elena was doing, things had been rather tense between them since the funeral. If perhaps before even then, honestly.
Rory had planned to hole up in the house, alone. Have a good cry, maybe stuff her face with pizza or something.
That's, of course, when she got a message from one Miss Nova Bennett to get her ass ready so she could pick her up. As one of Elena's friends, the Gilbert twins had gotten used to the Bennett twins being around while growing up. They weren't particularly close, friendly certainly, if a little closer to Nova than Bonnie. The other could almost be considered the crazy aunt, or maybe sister given the age difference. She was always there to pick Jeremy and Rory up if they needed it, kept Jeremy from doing dumb things even when his twin couldn't stop him, listened to Rory when she needed to talk to someone that wasn't her brother, let them do stupid stuff like try edibles, with her supervision of course, instead of getting in their cases like Elena would have.
It was comfortable, and comforting. To know there was someone they could go to and find no judgment. Well, maybe some, but still.
Her thoughts came to a halt as a hand held a cup of cold cocoa towards her. She hadn't even noticed the ruckus stopped. Uncurling so she could sit up and grab the cup, she quietly thanked her. Nova set a plate with cookies and her own cup on the coffee table, before sitting next to her. All of it without a word, just knowing she didn't want to talk. Not yet.
She took a sip of the cocoa and relaxed, it tasted like home. Like mom's hand running through her hair, like dad's hugs.
Rory burst into tears.
Nova snatched her drink and set it down, pulling the younger girl down to rest her head on her lap. She still didn't say anything, knew there was nothing she could say to Rory right now that would help, if she even wanted to hear it at all. Instead she rubbed circles on her back, her sweater feeling soft to one of Nova's hands while the other rested on brunette tresses.
They basked in each other's warmth, the silence permeating the house only broken by Rory's cries.
Outside the rain continued to pelt, raindrops sliding down the windows as if the skies were crying too.
my most grateful, loving thanks to lovely @sunlitscribe, for always putting up with me and my incoherent thoughts lol 🥺
Heading north of the wasteland they call an arena, the journey for Rebekah wasn't as challenging and troublesome as she would have thought it would be. Of course it wasn't exactly easy, but she hadn't made contact with any tributes, she was still in high-quality condition, although she was becoming thirsty from non-stop running for at least three to four hours. Nothing in the training center could have prepared her for this type of environment, but she was going to stay steady and keep going until she found some food or water.
One of the stone buildings that had crumbled to almost nothing had piles of stone and brick left, not to mention a ton of concrete and rubble. The girl grabbed a jagged piece of rock that was a little bigger than her hand, and began trekking through the rubble. She couldn't be out here alone with nothing but her bare hands to defend herself with, so a rock should do for now until something better comes along.
The arena had been too quiet, nothing to be heard all day, not even the wind. But right now it was different, there was some sort of sound behind the tribute. It was footsteps, the recognizable sound was getting closer and closer as the girl began to worry herself, but she wasn't going to doubt her abilities. Rebekah readied herself for the worst, gripping the large rock until her knuckles turned a shade of white. She stopped abruptly in her tracks and turned quickly to face the noise; but she found that it was nothing to be afraid of, no threat. It was Nova.
"Oh, it's you!" a smile immediately appeared on her face. One out of the two people she needed to find was standing right behind her. "You have no idea how glad I am that you're here." She wrapped her arms around her ally out of pure joy. "How has the wasteland been treating you?" She teased, but Nova looked like she was in just as good as condition as Rebekah had been. 'Let the Games start, for real this time.' She thought to herself with a smirk, they'd last much longer this way.
