Sally Field (the erstwhile, eponymous Flying Nun) had a birthday the other day - and it made us, ah, round up all the nuns that have been sighted lately - on either big or small screens! 😁 Isn't it interesting indeed, though to see "All That's Interesting" here reminisce about Dolores Hart - on Remembrance Day, for some reason?!? 😇 That's so sweet of you, ATI! For here is a real nun - a real luminous example of righteousness and purity 🧡🌐🧡

It is sad that even some ✝️ ✝️ ✝️ Christians -some Catholics!- do not even know about FATIMA...

And there have been so many inspiring ones aside from Sister Lucia 🇱🇨 of Fatima 🇵🇹 too; Faustina was canonized, so were Thérèse of Avila, de Lisieux, Bernadette of Soubiroux ~ to name but a few... 👧 👧 👧

Tumblrbots and the lot of them - verily all the masses out there - have such a very limited awareness of these saintly women; most believe or suppose that they broke their vows and returned to the world... NO, they do not! Sr. Dolores did not! Convents are not empty! There are still nunneries out there - with young nuns within their walls! And TV or cinematic representations of this reality now are often one of two things, really: the very much elderly nun or the fantasy material like Warrior Nun (which is good; we like it! Don't get it wrong; a warrior nun would be such a wonderful thing, these days... 😇 Such a nice change from the oft scantily-clad wondrous type of woman 🦹‍♀️ without much of a cause - or a clue! And if Shaolin monks can put their time to such use -as train in the martial arts- why wouldn't Catholic nuns do the same? But how many such *warriors* can there be, out there, in all likelihood - huh? 🙄)

Nope. 🙅🏻 In all likelihood, most nuns not in any advanced state of aging would be found to be like Dame Diana Rigg was In The House of Brede - one of her marquee roles, way back in the seventies/early eighties... (Most likely 70s!) 😇 Dignified, devoted, fair... Very much so -fair- but not in a way that we fully expect defrockment and "back into the world and its pleasures" imminently like in the many other depictions of nuns on-screen from the same era (Raquel Welch and Shirley MacLaine (!) come to mind...!) and since...!!!

Yeah - okay... some real-life nuns, too, are still somewhat erratic in their actions, misguided or just misinformed... *sigh* 😞
