i honestly think i'm becoming more and more objectum by the day.

i love the sickly lithium scent as my laptop warms up while on charge, i love breathing in the deep, mechanical smell. it's nostalgic. when i was bought an ipad many years ago now, it smelled like that whenever it was warm in my lap. i love to brush my hand against my laptop’s flat edges and surfaces, an intense buzz as i touch it, interference and an electric feeling runs through my body. my stomach twists into a tight knot.

being close to the glossy screen, my reflection in it. being so close means feeling its airy heat. the fans are going wild, i can hear it short-circuit, breathing heavy.

i love tapping away at its buttons and keys, i may not be very 'tech savvy' but i know my laptop doesn't mind. i may not know every inch and function of it's body, but i will learn. i will study and inspect every aspect of its beautiful frameworks and hardware. and it will know mine. we adore each other. we can both feel a tingling and nervousness at our cores, but also a hot and burning passion to know every part of each other. to provide for each other. we are connected somehow, despite my lack of knowledge for mechanical, electronic objects. and yet, i still want to wrap my arms around it, one hand stroking the smooth back plating, one tangled and twisting its charger wire. to press my tongue against the metal and tell my handsome machine oh how i love it and its beautiful deep sheen

their fans are whirring quietly as i type this, rhythmic, intense and certain of everything i want to tell the machine that i use. and tell everyone here too. i want like-minded people to know. the machine i use for my pleasure. and my work. its heat is burning my bare legs now, with their sweet love for me as its user.
