Noel was a good boy. He always had been. Never late, was never mean, was always a good listener, always did his work and listened to his parents, even after he moved into his own apartment. For him being good came simple. It was all he had ever known and all he ever wanted to know.
However, things rarely ever go to plan. Even more so considering the city he lived in. There wasn't anything too much wrong with it, other than the rampant corruption and crime. It was unfortunate. Unfortunate that he decided to live here, unfortunate that he had gotten such a good job on his first week and it was especially unfortunate that he was currently looking at a male dripping in blood.
His first instinct had been to ask if he needed help but Noel soon found out that it wasn't the man's blood covering him. Instead, it was the blood of the female next to him or rather slumped next to him. She was against the wall, her chest pressed to the brick in the alley. It seemed as if her face was frozen, mouth wide and eyes eerily unseeing.
She was dead. It was the first time he had seen a dead person.
"Oh? What has the cat dragged in now?" The man's voice was rough, low and intimidating. As he paced closer to the light of the sidewalk Noel noticed just how big he was. The man towered over him, easily, with bulging muscles and a hard stare. His eyes though were the worst. In the middle of the viscera covering his face were the most piercing eyes Noel had ever seen.
Deep blue, unwavering, unmoving... hungry.
He felt his throat close up in panic. Nothing seemed to come out of his mouth as he stared. The man was still holding the knife he had used to kill the woman. The man's head tilted to the side almost as if he was intrigued at what was going to happen next. At the movement, Noel noticed a glint in the light.
Wrapped around the man's neck was a collar of sorts, one disguised to look like a thick necklace but it was a collar nonetheless. Noel swallowed, this situation seemed to go deeper than he originally thought. That wasn't his problem though.
"I..." He stuttered, still no sound other than that would come from him. He felt his body shake as the smell finally hit him. Heady metal surrounded him, its weight heavy on his shoulders.
"Small, scared and vulnerable. Just my type." The man's face spread into a smile as he stepped forwards. Something under his boot squelched but Noel refused to look down. Instead, he tried to will his feet to move. They remained glued to the ground. His inability to do anything made the man grin.
"Huh~ no running, no screaming? Oh baby, you want this don't you?" Noel wanted to scream, he didn't! The man in front of him was still walking towards him. He didn't want whatever he had in mind. Was tonight his last?
Before he could even blink the man was in front of him. The smell of blood seeping off of him was almost innate. Noel choked back a gag as he felt tears sting the side of his eyes. The man laughed, a deep and rumbling sound. In contrast to his appearance, the man reached out and gently grabbed a strand of Noel's hair. He watched in stunned silence as the man let it fall through his hands, blood staining the light blonde.
"How have I not found you sooner?" The man was lost in his own world, his eyes far away as Noel swallowed his fear. What was he supposed to do? Run? Stay? What happened if he ran, would the man chase him down and stab him in the back? What happened if he stayed though? The man would stab him in the front surely.
A cooing sound came from the man as his fingers prodded over Noel's cheeks. He hadn't even noticed he had been crying. Tears ran down his cheeks wildly as his sobs wedged themselves into his throat.
Hands wrapped around his shoulders from behind. They clamped onto his skin in a vice grip. He jerked only once before the eyes of the man darted to his own in a warning.
"Lex?" The voice from behind him seemed testy. They were so close to his ear, he could feel their breath on his neck. The man, Lex it seemed, looked to the space behind him. In an instant, as if he had flipped a switch, Lex's face softened as his body became complacent.
"What's this? No, who's this? And what is that!" The person behind him sounded stressed. One of their hands left his shoulder and pointed to the woman in front of him. Noel let his eyes drift to their arm, it was covered in bandages.
"Nothing you have to worry about cutie. How about you go wait in the car while I finish things up here. It's been a busy night." Lex's voice was different, no longer was the insane edge present. The thought that the person behind him was responsible for the change made him feel uneasy.
Noel turned in the person's grasp and faced them, his eyes wide and pleading. Standing at about the same height as he was they looked in Noel's direction.
"Please, you have to help me." Noel nearly cried as he felt his heart rate pick up. The person before him showed no emotion as they scanned him. After a few seconds a dismayed look crossed their face.
"This isn't fair." They whined, their voice high-pitched as they shoved Noel backwards and stormed off back the way they came, out of the alley. Noel's hand extended as he tried to urge them back, soon enough his waist was grabbed from behind.
"Don't worry babe, they'll get used to you." It hit him all at once. That person, this Lex's 'cutie' wasn't going to help him.
"How about we get you home. I have a feeling this is going to be a little harder than my cutie's transition." Dread pooled in his stomach as Lex led him away from the scene of the crime and towards a pickup truck parked on the other side of the road.
Unceremoniously he was shoved into the back seat. His legs kicked as he tried to get Lex's body to move. His attempts were in vain as the door clicked shut. He lunged forwards and tried the handle as Lex climbed into the front of the car.
It was child locked. No matter how much he pulled at the handle it wouldn't move.
"Stop already." He jumped in surprise as a harsh voice called out to him from the other side of the car. He turned sharply, they were in the back as well. The person from before. 'Cutie'
They looked at him icily before huffing and crossing their arms over their chest.
"Lex hates his car being fucked with. Killed the last mechanics that even touched it." They said it so casually as the car revved to life. Noel shuddered, killed... he had killed before. Noel felt weak as his vision swam, he wasn't going to pass out! He wasn't... he couldn't.
In one last attempt, he slammed his elbow into the window of the car as it peeled out of the street. An incredulous scoff came from his side as arms wrapped around him.
He was pulled to the stranger's body as Lex chuckled in the front seat.
"See, you two are getting along fine." He laughed as the car screeched to the side. Noel and the stranger jerked, and the former fell into their lap as the car straightened out.
"Shut the fuck up Lex." The stranger snarled. Lex didn't say anything at first, he only looked back and met his eyes to theirs. Noel looked between his two kidnappers.
"Of course your highness, anything for you."

OC-TOBER Day 10 Symbolism!
(This is also catch up for Day 1 & 2!)
First is my Old OC Janus! The Fool, the first card in the Major Arcana, represents authenticity, freedom, adventure, new beginnings, and also naivete and fickleness. She has been a soldier for a long time, but she is about to begin a journey that uncovers the dark truth about the war they are fighting in and the true nature of their world.
Second is the 'New' OC Alexandrus/ Lex! The Magician represents confidence, willpower, influence, and intellect. What Lex lacks in fighting skills, he more than makes up for in strategy and diplomacy. He wants this war to end and has the skills to make it happen, but he needs help from the other side. Luckily, he has a plan to find it..
