First Encounter.

MY FIRST FULL SCENE MODEL!!!! thing.

I was initially going to do a showcase with just The Entity but it would have been a bit lackluster considering it's not every detailed lol.

Not including the new model itself this took about FIVE HOURS to make. (And I still don't know how the colors look on my phone.)

To briefly go over what I did for the entity...

While it mainly consists of a bendy bone rig (so it can stretch and whatnot), I also gave it a somewhat decent eye and jaw rig! I decided to FINALLY figure out how to properly make an eyeball rig for this (turns out I was putting the head of the bone in the wrong part of the eye lol)

While I do think this is cool it also looks creepy as HELL by itself.

Ergh.

As for the scene itself: the (tendrils?????) around the entity aren't actually a part of the rig! They're separate curves with the same material.

I also tried setting up lights for once and I think I did decent? I might have missed one or two areas but it's fine for someone who's not an expert at this.

Once again if anyone has any lighting tips for Blender it would help a lot lol

But overall I think it came out super cool!!! I'm super proud of how this looks so tell me what you think as well!

And also let me know if you would like to see more cinematic scenes because it takes a while to set up but I love making them....

I'll need a break beforehand but since they're invading my brain (AGAIN) I plan to do Vint and Bonnie next!

I've also finally settled on a redesign for Bonnie so stay tuned for that...

MAUDE 3D MODEL!!!

(I was stuck between Madeline and Maude and I eventually settled on Maude. Sorry Madeline fans)

My sole motivation for this was wanting to figure out physics for the hair. And I did!!!!

While this was (somehow) a simpler project than some of my recent work I have some new stuff to discuss about her... below the cut.

First and foremost... THE HAIR!!!!!!

After doing the physics on the earrings of the Jing model using the damped track constraint I wanted to see if I could learn a physics extension to use in the future. (I'm using the Jiggle Physics addon)

Thankfully I managed to figure out the basics pretty easily and it is. SO incredibly fun to use like look at this

IT MOVES!!!!!!

I am absolutely using this in the future no questions asked.

Another thing I did differently was the texture! I made the UV maps of certain meshes (back part of the hair, hands, legs, ears) really tiny and stuck them onto small gradients on the texture to save space (while also looking very cool). This helped a LOT. Mostly since it let me focused on getting the important parts like the sweater to look nice.

((I got this technique from a video one of my moots sent!!!!))

I also tried to add eyes to her head mesh without using a texture which DOES work... but the topology leaves a lot to be desired.

Finally: she's got her iconic dagger! (I thought it was a sword but it might actually be too small) This one also uses the gradient stuff from earlier. You may have seen it in some of the poses...

That's about all I have to say! As I mentioned earlier this was more of a smaller project... I didn't have the capacity to do any big animations or photoshoots sadly.

Also fun fact! I found her original art which I believe to be almost exactly a year from now which is cool but also. IT'S BEEN A YEAR???

I am however definitely reworking the series because I do not like the satirical angle I was initially intending. that is a long series name

(If anyone would like to see it I might be willing to model [character I was previously calling guy] though it would be way more of a challenge given its. well. design.)
