The people (my beloved mutuals, you know who you are) have been asking for more lore about how Zavier's death affected Ashleigha and Belladonna. This is far from a complete dive into that area, but I hope you enjoy what I have come up with so far.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, hello! I am a DC OC writer who runs rp blogs for my several of my characters. 

To give some brief explanation, Ashleigha and Izabella are two rivals who used to be friends until a fake rivalry combined with ideological differences caused them to break apart. They and Zavier had been best friends since middle school, until their senior year of college when Zavier dies and Ashleigha and Izabella's friendship falls apart.

Ashleigha becomes a vigilante named Obsession, largely because of her crush on Nightwing. Izabella becomes a powerful crime lord named Belladonna, and builds up a strong community with her gang and various allies. Throughout this fic, you may see the characters referred to by other names.

Ashleigha= Ash, Ley-ley, Obsession Izabella= Izzy, Bella, Belladonna

This fic is mostly just a sample of scenes to give sort of an overview of the trio's friendship and partings.

normally r/fanfiction runs an OC centric prompt event called OCtober. this year they aren't doing it so i decided to run my own. with blackjack and hookers.

Snippet of my current WIP

“I spy-”

CT-782 sighed deeply.

“-With my little eye-”

“CT-4040,”

“-something blue.”

“If it’s the kriffin ocean for the fifteenth time, I will toss you into it,”

Fives chuckled as he watched the two devolve into petty squabbling for the tenth time this shift.

“And this is why I hate perimeter duty,” Echo muttered, somewhat to fives but mostly to himself.

It always ended the same. CT-782 got restless, which made him irritated. CT-4040 got bored, tried to entertain himself, and annoyed CT-782 into bickering. Droidbait sat in a corner, and it was 50/50 whether he was daydreaming or keeping watch. Fives liked to spectate CT-782 and CT-4040 going at each other’s throats, so Echo was the only one actually doing their job. 

“What do you expect me to do?” 4040 was saying, “Be silent and boring like Echo?”

Luckily Echo was too used to those comments to care. 

“YES!” 782 replied. “At least pretend you’re as miserable as the rest of us! Nothing ever happens on perimeter duty!”

“Which is why we can relax a bit!” 4040 protested.

“Yes, but quietly!” 782 countered. “Too loud, and we’ll alert others that we’re not really keeping watch.”

“Five credits, one of them ends up in the ocean,” Fives whispered to him.

“You don’t even have five credits, Fives.” Echo countered at equal volume, fighting everything in himself to lecture his two bickering brothers on protocol. It would only escalate the situation further. Nearly every time that happened, they were given cleaning duty for the next two weeks. He’d rather not spend more time in the communal refreshers than needed.

“Okay, I bet five hypothetical credits that one ends up in the ocean,” Fives amended, “You want in?”

“You don’t even know what ‘hypothetical’ means!”

“I do too, or I wouldn’t have used it!” Fives objected.

“Yeah, what about ‘sacrilegious’? You were using it for at least a week before you knew what it meant.”

“I bet five hypothetical credits that you’re ending up in the ocean, you sacrilegious mir'sheb,”

“That’s still not how you use the word, and you couldn’t lift me,” Echo replied, only half fighting the smile spreading on his face. That was the only good part about perimeter duty, just quiet banter between him and his twin.

 “That a challenge?” Fives asked, raising an eyebrow.

OC-tober Day 18: Vintage

Yikes! It’s been a while since I filled a prompt. Anyway, here’s my day 18 prompt fill. I believe Becky was in my day 5 story... (also, the clothes in this story aren’t really described, but they’re a mix of items from the 40′s and 50′s, if you’re curious) 

Two small warnings: There is a coat made of real fur and a pack of cigarettes in this story. The cigarettes aren’t smoked, and it isn’t 100% mentioned that the fur is real, but I thought I would mention it in case that’s something that you’d rather avoid.

  Becky dug through the dusty wardrobe. Vicky had told her that this was her room a long time ago, but that she’d taken a new one when she moved back in. She’d told Becky it was because it was just easier than cleaning it out, but she had a feeling that there was more to it than that. Perhaps old memories, to some degree.   When Becky had first come in, she’d started coughing immediately. Clearly it had been a while since anyone had been in here. Or aired it out for that matter. She’d resorted to pulling her t-shirt over her nose and heading over to the window, which she somehow managed to open with some persuasion. Honestly, she was surprised it opened at all.   Once the window was open, the stale air started to clear out. Once Becky felt she could breath, she looked around. It was mostly curiosity that led her here today. Every room in this mansion of a house seemed to be filled with treasures. All she had to do was find them.   After asking if the room was safe, that is.   She found herself curious about what clothing lay in the elaborate dresser and wardrobe.   So she found herself opening the carved wooden door and peering in.   Inside she found some dusty, faded clothing. Cautiously, she began looking through some of the garments. She could see several dresses, some blouses, a few jackets, and what looked like large lumps of fur. She reached in and, with some struggling, hauled out one of the lumps. It was heavier than she expected. After some examining, she concluded the lump was in fact a jacket.    She held it up by the collar and peered in at the tag.   Hudson’s Bay   Huh. She was pretty sure she’d seen commercials for them before. Nothing about furs though.   Like any kid presented with a large, fancy article of clothing, she tried it on. It engulfed her small frame, causing her to giggle. It was quickly followed with a sneeze.   She peered inside the wardrobe again, spying a few pairs of shoes. She would have tried them on, but the thought of spiders and other creepy crawlers caused her to refrain.   Stepping back from the wardrobe, she stuffed her hands into the pockets of the jacket. He hand brushed something, causing her to quickly retract her hand. Cautiously, she examined the pocket.   At least she knew it couldn’t be a spider.   She grabbed the object and pulled it out. Becky recognized it as a cigarette pack. It was mostly empty. A peek inside told her there were only two left. She didn’t recognize the brand as one she had seen before, not that she saw many up close. It was a faded yellow pack with ‘Old Gold’ written in fancy red lettering. She’d have to google it later.   Admittedly, she didn’t think this would end in her googling cigarettes.   She replaced the cigarettes, wondering if this meant Vicky used to smoke. She shed the jacket and headed back over to the wardrobe, looking through the clothes again. She’d probably google vintage fashion too.

Zootopia Fan-fiction shout-out!

I’m not sure if I’ve done a dedicated fan-fiction shout-out post before, but this one deserves it, and I hope you all boost tf outta it! 

It truly deserves more attention and praise, because it’s stories like this that make me even more proud of this fandom!

In Darknes I Hide: A Zootopia Story

Here’s my full review:

“This ended up becoming one of my most favorite Zootopia fanfictions. My favorite OC-centric fanfic, at least. The fact that I liked it so much, yet it has basically nothing to do with Nick and Judy, and is focused on OCs, makes it all the more impressive! All the characters had thorough meaning and importance in this expertly-written, very complex story.

I've read plenty of fics where writers have attempted the same. Being a part of a big fan community, I can understand the appeal. -A writer with a bad-ass OC making lots of friends decides to do something that includes their friends too. It's fun; it brings people together; but it all too often is unappealing to anyone outside that friend group, because those character interactions just distract from an otherwise great story, or the story itself is just *meh* cause it's mainly about showing off those characters or something. Although I do happen to consider you and some of the owners of the other OCs featured in the story my friends, it was no distraction from a truly great story, as they each had valid roles. Everything took careful consideration, and you pulled it off better than anything else I've read. As for Murana/The Dark Flame Wolf, gotta say she is the most intriguing OC/sona I've gotten to know from the Zootopia fandom, -even before reading this story! She's beautiful; she's strong; and I want to read even more about her! I now have the understanding I lacked before, at least. I regret waiting so long to read this story, but I'm glad I didn't ask too many questions beforehand, as the first-time reading experience was fresh and exciting. After reading, I now have even more sympathy and respect for her character. She's much stronger than I thought, but learning of her past... the fuel behind the flame -so to speak ...is heartbreaking. Her experiences throughout her life, struggling with her past, formed her into a very dynamic and passionate character. Plenty of people come up with lazy, dark, "sob-story" backgrounds for their OCs, but this was unique and emotionally-impactful. I can't really think of any real criticism... The most "out-there" component of the story would have to be the inclusion of [redacted for spoilers] That was surely a risky move in the Zootopia Universe. No matter how interesting the character, one could easily make the argument that he doesn't belong; but it's hard to enjoy any ""fan-FICTION"" without an open mind; -and with how well the elements were written into place, the reveal of [redacted for spoilers] -and throughout his presence in the story line- came with seamless acceptance as his character really added to the story. You did justice to his character, while also making him feel more like a real villain. When well-executed, a bold move like that in the Zootopia Universe should be welcome, if not appreciated! This is the greatest example I've read so far of an OC-centric story. You did right by your OCs, your friends OCs, and the Zootopia Universe settings the story took place in. Indeed, a lot of promises were fulfilled to many friends; and I can't express enough how much I appreciate huge, time-consuming, dedicated efforts like that in this awesome fandom. This absolutely exceeded my expectations, and I hope more people in the fandom will give this story a chance and find a lot of inspiration.”

Luckily, she seems to have a knack for earning sympathy coin from those around her, whether it be her youtube celebrity best friend or her now-incredibly successful producer of a cousin. And after years of brooding over her own delinquent behavior, things seem to be on the up and up! Especially once she stumbles upon a longtime idol at complete random and he takes a liking to her. It just may be the lifechanging encounter she's secretly been holding out hope for all this time.

Will eventually develop into, so I just High-Lighted the relevant ones and decided to make a Shit-Post! X’D

Essentially, a Scientist from the GIW (Danny Phantom-Universe) with somewhat of a moral compass finally realizes the gravity of the agency’s horrible acts, and feels remorseful for his past involvement. He goes behind the backs of the GIW after this, whilst starting to protect his Experiments under the guise of “Extending His Grant”, when in reality he’s being a Chaotic-Lawful and putting the final touches on getting Higher-Government Permission to open up what will eventually become his own Agency, out of the GIW’s power.

A few months of Under-Wraps Legal Issues later and he succeeds, starting up his own lab which treats entities like actual people, and acting as a sort of Safe-Haven for them.

The GIW hate this, and they despise the fact that there is now a competing (albeit much smaller time) agency who continues to “Steal Their Experiments”, but the truth of the fact is that at the end of they day, both agencies have to go through Higher-Government in order to do anything, and the Scientist who started up the refuge locked things down so tight through Legal-Channels and Congress (You don’t nearly kill yourself in college by getting two degrees, one in Law and one in Science, for nothing after all!) that their hands are tied.

Of course, running a successful Sanctuary under the guise of Humane-Research and Military-Aid  comes with it’s quirks (Even if your enemy is fucked right out of the gate), hence the High-Lighted bits of the picture above which likely resemble a typical day/dialogue around there! X’D

I think that I’m going to start calling this the Sanctuary-AU for now!.
