Don't mind me I just learned about Sedna and I'm having NORMAL thoughts and feelings about this.
Sedna is the name of a goddess in Inuit mythology, right, and according to Inuit legend, Sedna is a sea goddess who resides at the bottom of the Arctic Ocean. She's mermaid-like, and it's said that when Sedna is angry, she withholds the sea animals from hunters, causing starvation????
Sedna's story varies but it seems like a common version sort of agrees that she was tricked into marrying a spirit or bird creature, then betrayed by her father who tried to rescue her. Her fingers were chopped off, and each segment turned into a different sea creature.
