AHHH WHAT?!?!??! SO EXCITED FOR THESE CHARACTERS. Genuinely so pleased with all of these designs. Vodyanitsa and Alyosha are kind of giving Kokomi and Gorou which I’m actually happy about lol… this cast looks really formidable!! I can’t wait to learn more about them and about the fey as a whole! I wonder if Ronvoa will end up playable or if we’ll destroy her. So many questions!!

From what I’ve seen just in passing, vesna has an anemo stellar linchpin and odette has a cryo one. Vodyanitsa has a hydro vision.

My predictions for the rest… I suspect alyosha will be cryo, valeriy will be electro stellar linchpin, danica will be electro, and noy will be pyro. I’m not sure for mitya, I could really see anything lol - electro (purple / for stellar conduct), geo (gold accessories + reminds me of Albedo lol), anemo (teal accessories, possibly a vision on the opposite shoulder (like navia’s!), stellar conduct) … and of course, the tsaritsa will be cryo

I wonder if we’re going into a dendro recession again after nod krai…… oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Right now, I’m probably most excited for mitya and vesna, but that’s bound to change! I think odette is really pretty but she’s already reminding me a lot of lynette

My friend made me (who has been dancing for 13 years) aware of Odette from Genshin Impact, and I have some Thoughts about her design.

Now, this is not a bad design, but specifically as a ballet character?? Atrocious.

I have NEVER had a dance costume of any style (especially ballet) that included metal that wasn’t buttons or a zipper. For there to be metal embellishments on her torso specifically?? She won’t be able to bend over without being stabbed, which is like half the steps in ballet.

Not to mention how structured the top seems (the costume needs to be able to bend with the body) and the fact that it has no straps??? And neither does whatever undergarment/leotard she’s wearing????? One wrong move and she’s flashing the entire Hoyoverse.

Not exactly a huge thing bc I definitely have had costumes with skirts like that, but for swan lake specifically it really should’ve been a pancake tutu. Plus, it could’ve made for a really interesting silhouette!!

The first row of the train is fine, but she’s definitely tripping on the lower ones if she has to get off the floor or if she’s not careful.

Maybe this is a minor nitpick but I have never worn a costume with white tights, let alone ones with designs on them. I get that you’d want to make the bottom half more interesting but it’s so close to the top half that it almost doesn’t even read that way?? Pink tights were originally worn in ballet to create the illusion of being bare legged and creating a nice line with little contrast between the leg and the shoe, but just being different enough from a white skin tone for the audience to know they werent actually bare legged. Especially bc she already has elements of pink in her design, why go with white??

And now the shoes. Oh god the shoes. While yes there are actual dance heels (I own a pair myself) they are exclusively for jazz and tap, and even then it’s mostly reserved for theatre. The base of them is way too structured in the wrong ways for ballet. Speaking from personal experience, she wouldn’t be able to point her foot, which is like. one of the most important parts of ballet?? Ballet flats and pointe shoes are

The base of the toe is way too narrow and rounded to balance on, the box of a pointe shoe is called a BOX for a reason. Plus them being made of metal at all?? There’s no articulation of the foot happening in there.

I heard it said somewhere that they didn’t give her pointe shoes to discourage fans from getting them and potentially hurting themselves, but most people who aren’t already dancers don’t know where to get pointe shoes aside from Amazon. Plus, they’re expensive as fuck!! But if people see Odette doing pointe in narrow, metal heels, there’s a good chance that they have access to shoes just like those.

That is genuinely incredibly dangerous. Pointe is already risky bc you’re putting all your body weight in the tips of your toes. But those shoes are built with layers of cardboard in the box to cushion it a little, a wide area, and semi-flexible material. The average heel has none of that. If you try to go on pointe in Odette’s shoes, there’s is a very good chance you’ll break your toes or your ankle. It would’ve been safer to put her in pointe shoes.
