Wondering what the genshin cast would feel about the player playing random music while playing the game
The proper question would be, what kind of music would the player play?
I have a headcanon that playable characters are aware of the music in the game and that sometimes they use it as an advantage. I always type ‘playable’ because I have a headcanon about different levels of self-awareness in SAGAU but we’ll talk about that later, back to the music part. City themes are like alarm clocks to the playable characters because they are a bit on the upbeat side (especially Liyue).
Albedo uses the Dragonspine theme to help him concentrate. From time to time that music is also a lullaby to both Sucrose and Klee. Zhongli and Ei use the theme of their city to make them remember everything. Erosion is a hard thing and losing memories is something that is inevitable and a thing that they are still trying to deal with. Bennett uses it as motivation to get up and get going (The city favoured by the wind theme). The traveller and Paimon take advantage of battle music in fighting.
They first heard your talking and after that came your crying. When all those events transpired, the anemo archon, Venti knew that hearing music is also inevitable. One day it happened. Music suddenly stopped and those playable characters nearby thought the time stopped.
Razor (I have a headcanon that Razor is sensitive to noises because he developed sharper senses by being raised by wolves) will suddenly wake up from his nap startling the wolves around him. Gorou, who was patrolling, immediately ran back in front of the shrine to alert Kokomi who was disturbed by the silence. Aloy (my girl~) who is tracking a boar got distracted and lost her target.
Turns out, you turned down the music in the settings and the deafening silence was interrupted by-
‘♫If DeAtH cOmEs kNOCkInG aT your door!♫ cALL oUt mY name AdEpTus XiaO!♫’
The incident started the new era of music in Teyvat. Whenever the player would play a new song, Lisa would try her best to write all that she hears and later try to analyze it. Venti would try his best to replicate the sounds that he heard, spreading it to the citizens of the city. Yun Jin would try to memorize what she hears and try to make it into a play. Xinyan would be the same as Venti but she will add her own twists on the song (adding more bass, riffs, etc.). Xiao never let down the incident but sometimes he would find himself humming one of the songs he heard while patrolling around the mountains.
Music after all is a universal language so it didn’t take too long for them to accept it. If the playables (once again based on self-awareness) are the only ones who can hear it, spreading it around to the citizens will take time. They are used to the music in the air that is just pure music and nothing else. Newly pulled characters will take the experience as something startling because they are not used to it as well.
Please don’t play the music too loud, it might startle them while climbing or fighting. They will also try to know how you are feeling based on the song that you are playing and will listen intensely hoping that you would sing along. They would really want to hear you sing along.
Sooner or later, your music is now one of the things that they will love and they will want to know more. Being self-aware, questioning one’s existence is unavoidable. When they first feel your presence for the first time, hear you talk and cry for the first time, they know they are in good hands. They hope that they can do more than just be aware of what they are but they also wish that you’d be aware that they are aware of you cause they want to know you more.
Ps. ngl I can see Lisa (and even Yae Miko) vibing to Doja Cat. What do you guys think the other characters would like?
