I have some thoughts on this.

We see Frenchie as one of the people reaching out and trying to help Izzy. He's comfortable enough to hold his hand, lean his head on his thigh. And he sits there next to Izzy, eating soup, (note Izzy isn't, but that belongs to the soup analogy) but still in his vicinity.

And then he is made first mate and is supposed to kill him. But he has no plans for that.

This Revenge crew has formed an even deeper bond in the presence of the Kraken. And that includes Izzy.

"He's a dick." "But he's our dick " as Jim says.

Frenchie using touch to help with the trauma (he is eating the soup, therefore open to healing) is a wonderful character choice.

And I worry about his trauma response of putting it into a box in his head.
