Throwaway Keyboard Repurposing/Adoption:
Improvisational Session Extractions Pt. III
Having a witchy/dungeony, but funky and endearing vibe with the two ideas for the first part - I wanted to try to have two ideas for a second part that would be the inverse - brighter and ethereal but with enough teeth to work my way back.
ROSLYN JOHNSON is a 15 year old PATIENT in the PSYCHIATRIC WARD. He has been diagnosed with PTSD, BI POLAR DISORDER, and HALLUCINATIONS and looks a lot like Malina Weissman.
MAYBE THEY’RE HIDING
Roslyn was the baby of the oddest family she’d ever heard of. She had two fathers, Bill and Bob. They were nice, sort of. One really was the other was just kind of around. Her fathers were never actually together, and they weren’t ever planning to be either. But they had posted and played family in order to adopt her older sister, Marley, before she was even born. Naturally, once she was born she was taken into the loving house to be with her big sister. She had a pretty nice life. She and her sister had a huge room, were spoiled, and she didn’t really mind that. She always found it odd that her ‘parents’ weren’t actually a couple, but they never made her feel bad about it. When she’d bring it up they’d mostly just explain they used to be and no longer were but wanted to be able to have Roslyn with Marley so they had to pretend to still be together for their sake - a total lie, but the young girl bought it. Like her older sister she attended a great private school up until the age of 13. Then her life changed.
WE HOPE THEY ARE PLAYING A GAME
She was moved out of her big fancy room to the basement where her sister now was. She had wondered where she went off too, only seeing glimpses of her coming in at night or leaving in the morning, or the opposite. She noticed several other girls. Now these girls looked like they lived in the basement, they had beds and everything. But something was offf about them to Roslyn. They didn’t look like hostages and they were all well fed, dressed, and educated. She found out that they weren’t hostages at all, they were working for Bill and Bob. It turned out that the two were in charge of a very successful drug smuggling company. Girls would actually go to them and ask to work for them, after all, who would suspect a young teen girl to be smuggling drugs and contraband goods? She noticed her sister was one of these helpers and when they discussed it her sister said to just go with it, it’ll be easier on her. She did, but at first she fought back pretty hard. She was independent and wanted nothing to do with their business, but after some ‘reasoning’ from Bill and Bob she decided she might as well get on board.
BUT THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING
Infortunatly Roslyn was really good at her job. She was picked most and usually got the most product when there were groups of girls going out. She knew she hated what she was doing, and that what she was doing was really bad, but she really didn’t like the outcome of arguing with her ‘parents’. She hated seeing her sister get most of the anger when she was too scared to do something. Her sister would offer, which would make her ‘parents’ mad that Roslyn wouldn’t agree but then fine because, hey, someone was doing it for them. When she was 15, her sister being 23 at the time, the operation was shut down by the FBI. Most of the girls went their separate ways getting help all over. Roslyn tried to explain that it wasn’t any of the girls’ faults, and the FBI knew that, however, they had to do what they had to do. Her sister was practically threatened into going into an institution with Roslyn. It was either that or she’d be tried for possession with the intent to sell since she was legally an adult. Roslyn held back tears just screaming that it wasn’t her fault she was sticking up for the other girls, she was one of the oldest in the operation anyway. She had become like the mom of the others. She was told that was why they could try her as an adult, because she could make her own choices by this point in her life. Both agreed to Brielle and against their will were packed up and headed to the institution.

It was in Nashville, Tennessee that she was born to a single mother. Raised on stories of better times and the promise of a bright future, she had her fair share of struggles. Life was not always easy but she had a positive outlook that shone through when faced with challenges. It wasn’t always a cakewalk, but Indigo now realizes all of the difficult times were well worth it. She transitioned halfway through her college career, a decision that initially shocked her family but with time, was the clear and only route for her. Mastering Sociology, she yearned to teach young minds and when a position opened at Cabot Creek, she sent in her application. The interview process was tedious, but Indigo was accepted and has been teaching for the past four years and would never dream of a career change.

Students typically flock to fill Professor Young’s classes. She is quite popular for her unique teaching style. She is tough but fair and always challenges her students in new and exciting ways.
Co-workers enjoy working with Indigo. She is always suggesting new ideas to improve the university and is willing to help other professors find resources for their classes.
In college, she struggled to find people who identified with her. Although she had a small group of friends, she preferred focusing on her studies.
