Our campus has one building with a lot of food courts, and on the outside there are tables, outside sofas, and umbrellas for students to eat, study, and to hang out. In the center of this open area is a piano-- which many students often like to play-- and on this day, there happened to be a student who played a hymn (which I don’t remember at this moment). There were three other people gathered around the piano who were singing joyfully. So what did we do? We joined them! And it was the most nerve-wracking, awesome moment of the day. Nerve-wracking because I was aware that there were dozens of my peers staring at us while we were singing. Although I wanted to be so unashamed and undignified in my praise, there was a part of me that was embarrassed. But it was awesome because even though I might have been embarrassed, I still chose to go out and present myself as a Christian. It was even more exciting because none of us knew each other before we joined together in praise. I even exchanged my contact information with one other girl afterwards. It's amazing how knowing Jesus can bring such different people together.
note to self: Priscilla, let’s be undignified in Jesus. Let’s learn to be proud of the one who calls us His children- even though we don’t deserve it. Don’t be afraid, because HE is with us always.
