What in life is your character avoiding, and why? Will they ever have to confront this thing? How will they react when forced to confront it?
Black'Storm is avoiding water, no matter what the cost is. Why? Well when he was younger, like 5 or 6 Years old, he had ran away from his father after Luna's death. He then fell through a ice over lake, slowly drowning but he's lucky enough to be rescued by Lance, his rescuer.
Though Black'Storm developed hydrophobia from this experience, and from there, he promised to himself that he would stay away from water as much as he can.
Will he ever confort this? Probably not, he wouldn't even try to get over it. After all, he can't swim, now can he? Cause of his species.
How will he react when forced to confort it? He will not react very well, it might send him back to the memories of the few times that he fell into any water source. Especially the first time it happened. Here's a quick dialogue of his reaction.
"Black'Storm you have to swim across!" -Ford
"LIKE HELL I'M GOING TO! THATS SUICIDE FOR ME!" -Black'Storm
"Black'Storm please!" -Ford
"NO! YOU CAN LEAVE WITHOUT ME DAMNIT!" -Black'Storm
