@weiserbooks • "Mountain Conjure and Southern Root Work is a masterpiece. Read this book and you will understand the workings and social role of root workers in all their ancestral depth, and the cultural significance and beauty of Appalachia.”
What're your fave books on older witchcraft & rituals? Newer stuff I like, but I'm curious about books that contain stuff thats harder to find. Just out of curiosities sake.
Hello witches! Here i am to share an old Italian divinatory method. Try it the next full moon!
You'll need:
A withe or silver candle
Bay leaf
A lighter // matches
An offerings(if you want)
If you want you can grease the candle with special oils for divination. I usually use olive oil + cinnamon. But it's not necessary. Light the candle. Ask to Gods/to spirits/to your anchestors/etc.etc. to asnwer to your question. Leave the offerings. Burn a bay leaf while making the question. If the leaf crackle loud, then the answer is affermative.
#OldWitchcraft 🌙 Do you know why those old witches living close to the river hold your left hand with both hands when they meet you? In order to know how much you really know.
What you read and read ends up stored in your head, but what you put into practice is saved forever in your hands.
As the old witches of my town say, while smoking tobacco next to the rose bush in the morning... "There is no better way to teach others than to show how it is done, and there is no better way to learn than by doing what they are doing".

Pretty basic information on Practical Astrology, from me to you, I hope this result easy to understand for you my lovers, my readers, my friends.
This new moon opens a nice (short) manifestation cycle between Dec 14 until Dec 29 (full moon in Cancer), and a (long) manifestation cycle, between Dec 14 (new moon) until 26 May 2021 (full moon in Sagittarius).
I did not include information on the actual season of eclipses. first, because I am not looking to open unnecessary debates on the subject of eclipses, which always turns out to be quite intense, and second because that would take me to make a much longer video and I don't want to bore anyone.
Each new moon is a good time to sow growth intentions in the short and long term, this new moon is the last of the year 2020 and occurs shortly before the solstice, with the sun, and mercury in Sagittarius.
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and is the sign of illusion, focus, and direction, if something reminds us of this month of Sagittarius it is to always be focused, to seek the right direction, to focus the mind. For Sagittarius it is quite easy to get excited, to create worlds and all kinds of scenarios in his head, which turn out to be so elaborate that it is often difficult for him to create them in the real world, and it is easy for Sagittarius to get lost within those worlds.
This is a period of consciousness that is key for us, and it is very interesting because each December begins with Sagittarius, holidays, preparations for the holidays, decorations. Then closing the month we move to Capricorn, which is the sign of structure and order, then we begin to plan the new year, to plan diets and schedules, all this has to do with Capricorn.
I will take this new moon to meditate and reflect with the energy of the goddess Cybele. Cybele or Kybelis is an ancient goddess, very old, venerated during the Neolithic in Çatalhöyük, Turkey.
Kybelis is mother nature, she is the goddess of the fertile land, animals, mountains, caves, and walls. The Greeks called her "Damia" which is a title that means "the good goddess", and the Romans saw in her Magna Mater, the mother goddess of the earth.
Kybelis represents the female role of nature, from little bees and ferocious lions, to mountains and caves. And she teaches us the art of serenity, of calm, of having a sense of permanence, of thinking and building firm long-term projects, of not wasting time doing things that don't fill us up just to go with the flow or please others, but rather to focus in the long term on solid and firm projects, and that is very Capricorn, which is the month that is about to start and that has everything to do with discipline, firmness, protocol, and structures.

I made these 25 limited Charm Bags for Balance, economic stability, good fortune, prosperity, protection, and firmness in long-term projects.
Usually, I only offer my work via Instagram, or through the Facebook page of my book "The Magical Art Of Crafting Charm Bags", but this is a different limited edition work, so I decided to post this here on my blog.
If you remember that post we did during the month of January with those herbs that I collected (and some bought) in different parts of the city of NY, then you know that I was waiting until the period between the new moon and the equinox of Autumn, to prepare these amulets.
The colors, dates, lunar phases of its realization, herbs, flowers, roots, oils, and every detail, is cared to channel a specific type of energy, which is focused on balance in life, prosperity, wealth and economic abundance, financial stability, and a slight hint of protection.
The herbs, flowers, and resins I use here include:
Rose bulbs (picked with the full moon)
The dried root of chrysanthemums
Verbena
Herb of St. John (duly collected on the night of San Juan)
Sagebrush
Yarrow
Catnip/Catswort
Myrrh (Consecrated during the summer solstice)
Rosemary
White sage (crushed and powdered on the new moon)
Dried jasmine flowers
Lavender flowers (Sundried)
Sunflower root (Picked with the first new moon of spring)
My typical blend of oils of good fortune that includes:
Frankincense
Myrrh
Sage
Orange flowers
Cinnamon
Geranium
Salvarosa
Cypress
And obviously, a different version of the consecration ritual that you can find in my Charm Bags book. The cloth and cord of each amulet were consecrated with the new moon and now blessed the night before the equinox. I only made about 25 charm bags, which are available for sale through my blog ($35+shipping) Payments can be made directly to me via Venmo (@elhoimleafar), or Paypal and Zelle, but first you need to send me your address, and full name (to [email protected] or DM in any Social Media Profile) to consecrate and personalize each amulet separately before sending it.
The next time, I'll be offering the Charm Bags made with that beautiful blend of flowers/herbs for Prosperity, Money, and Abundance.
with true love, Elo.

The Gods are not racist and never have been, the racist is you.
I never have a problem with people honoring or working with deities of my country (Maria Lionza or India Rosa), or working with the Orixas of my pantheon (Yemaya or Yewa), while they are respectful and keep in secret the mysteries.
If you try to work with them, and you don't find any "obstacle" in the process, and the work you do respond well, you see the results and the signs of their sacred approbation. I'm not anyone, I'm literally not anyone to silent your voice and say contrary.
I am not a messiah, I do not claim to be any representative of the gods on earth, nor do I seek to be. My relationship with them is my most personal, sacred, and individual relationship, and that is how I think your relationship should be as well.
Science has shown (Sorry white people) that all humanity began in Africa, for me it has never been strange to think or accept that the first gods and temples were also erected there, and until the gods say otherwise, I have no reason to think about it.
Just please be respectful with what you practice, be respectful with the priests and elders of each Tradition, and do not reveal the secrets of it, if they accept you in their Tradition, neither I nor anyone here is qualified to tell you otherwise, Maybe it is your call that Tradition, maybe it is your purpose of reincarnation to be part of that path, and I will not be (nor anyone else should be) a stone in your path. The ancients represented their gods on the rocks because none of us is qualified to speak for them or pretend that we know what they say, religion is a belief system created by men, not by gods.
I only speak from my perspective, from what I know, I am nobody to talk about the perspective of others, especially in the middle of a community where today any individual reads two books, writes an article in a certain pagan blog of debatable popularity, and voila, they take a new tradition out of their pocket.
But at least from my perspective, in the few traditions that I have entered, I have never seen problems of racism associated with worship or gods. On the contrary, I have seen problems of racism, homophobia, and transphobia, promoted by people, not by gods, and unfortunately, most of these are white people who argue (and even have told me) "this cult is not for people like you, stay in line. "
So before objectifying religious traditions and pagan cults as something under your entire control, you should take the time to be initiated into other traditions (really initiated !, Thanks!) And see how respectful the individuals within these traditions are. , see how they treat their elders and their own mysteries, and after that, if you are going to be part of any cult, do it for love, and not just to pretend and presume that you are part of something exclusive, which is only exclusive because its leaders are racists who pretend to act as messiahs in a false cult.
