Aw, the important part of the last one is that your husband liked it, right? But isn't that always the case, where the ones you like the most no one else quite takes to, while other ones that feel more random people just latch on and you're left like "ok?"
Oh, I’m so sorry that I didn’t mean to sound a lot more emo than I’m actually feeling! ^^; Yes, that was the present and Husband did like it and thought it was “cute” which like, you said, is the most important part. I’m really happy the way it turned out and it gave me a warm, happy feeling when I was working on it (sure beats the constant uphill struggle that I get with most of my other projects!). Even if it’s not getting that much notice on the net, it doesn’t really take away my own feeling (and husband’s) towards the pic. I mean, I’m pretty sure soon I’ll get all embarrassed about it, but that’s normal for me and has nothing to do with external forces.
Buuuuut, yeah, I’m sorry to hear you feel the same, but it is reassuring and almost seems normal that you and others have seen the same thing with your own work. Some unpolished/unfinished work gets more attention from random people and the same thing finished get zero attention. It makes me start questioning my art. Did I do something horribly wrong going from sketch to finished piece? I wonder what about those rough sketches that catches the eyes of random people. I suppose good thing my primary reason to draw is to amuse myself and my peeps, and if I was farming for attention on the net, I would have quit a long time ago. To be honest, I wouldn’t know what to do if I get all that attention anyway, like the dog that finally catches the car, LOL.
Thank you, @jodarkrider, @operatordevavani and @cedrictheperipatetic for the thoughtful replies and tags. <3
