I have a good question not sure if I read this already but when do people tend to develop their scent and such in your omegaverse aus?

lke is it apparent from birth or only something that occurs later in life?

Hmm so I'm using this AMAZING idea from a not-quite-omegaverse fic called Rise of the Drackens, it's a HP fanfic that I looove (have not caught up with it in a long while tho 😢)

When babies are born from Drackens in that fic, the mother can scent whether they'll present as a Dracken as a baby.

SO I'm twisting that a bit into omegaverse, where the mother can scent if the baby is a beta, or an alpha/omega - but they can't tell which one they'll present as for sure until they actually do.

Non-alpha/omega indicating scent wise, everyone has a specific-to-them scent from birth. Beta's scents tend to be a lot more subtle, especially after puberty. After puberty for Alphas and Omegas, their scents get much stronger, plus have that undertone of their presentation (idk how to describe that lol it's hormones)

But say in my someday-written College Omegaverse AU, Feyre is born an alpha, and has her lilac and pear scent from birth. Once she presents as an alpha, the scent gets stronger, and people can now scent that she's an alpha.

I'd say in canon-ACOTAR, Alphas present at 16-19, while Omegas present at 18-22 (in general, sometimes you have late-early bloomers)

Non-canon ACOTAR, it kinda just depends lol. Probably around normal puberty ages for everything, but their heats/ruts might start later
