Maybe an Omen x reader who is jumpy? But is somehow comfortable with Omen who is the definition of "monster"

Omen x jumpy!reader HCs

Word Count: 430

The other agents don’t really get it since you’re literally the most skittish person ever

When the wind slams doors shut you jump

Once the other agents threw you a surprise party and you almost cried from the shock after

You’re also terrible at handling horror. Whenever the VP has movie nights and Jett or Breach (the two horror fanatics) convince everyone to watch a horror film, you’re always there, clutching Omen’s hand and/or nearly burrowing into his side

Yet somehow you don’t run from Omen

He marvels at it, honestly can’t believe how lucky he is to be with you. You’re always so kind and gentle and he’s him

Even when he’s had bursts of pain and accidentally lashes out at you, you always come back and the two of you talk it out

He always makes you lots of tea because he wants something to do with his hands and the fact that he can’t drink it anymore just means you always have way too many mugs steeping, waiting for you

(He’s also definitely been one of the people to use Cypher’s tea— at least Omen leaves apology knitted projects. Last time it was a beanie)

You love evenings sitting beside Omen, you usually read or scroll on your phone while he knits

To be honest it did take you a long time to warm up to Omen, but you did to all the protocol. Omen had drawn you in— he’d felt kind. Even though he didn’t strictly have eyes, his gaze had felt soothing, if pained

The two of you comfort each other. Both of you have your own issues, from working in the VP to your lives before. You’re both big on cuddling, Omen especially when he’s struggling with corporeality

Sometimes when you’re both too lazy to grab something, he’ll teleport to get it then teleport back

When he wakes up with nightmares, it doesn’t scare you as much anymore but it still hurts to see him in pain. Wrapping him in a hug and rubbing his back helps to ground him

He doesn’t usually tone down the whole “I am their nightmare” talk when he’s around you since you’re used to it and know it’s for intimidation, but he does try to cut down on self deprecating talk since he knows you don’t like it

You try to help him know he’s not less for what’s happened to him and his body but it’s a process

More and more you find you’re not really scared of Omen but for him, especially with how uncertain his situation is

Omen is quite nervous when it comes to any affection at all. He isn’t used to it, and it’s a whole other can of worms to deal with

You would definitely have to be the one to initiate things. The last thing he wants to do is try something, then scare you instead. He’d feel terrible.

When you suggest something simple like hand holding, he would definitely need to warm up to the idea mentally, first. It excites him that you feel comfortable to want to hold hands with him, but it also makes him sweat. If Omen can sweat, that is.

Whatever his form underneath that hood of his is colder than the average body temperature. So holding hands with you feel different- sweet, and pleasant. It’s new, and it’s really nice.

He stiffens at your first touch. It’s an unusual physical motion. He’s a bit like a deer caught in the headlights.

As you reach for his hand time and time again, he begins to enjoy it, and after a few weeks, he will be the one to want to hold your hand as well. That’s a big step!

Omen doesn’t feel weather extremes as much as the average person. Call it a side effect of being this kind of Radiant, if you will. His body temperature is slightly on the cooler side. He’s great to hug in the summer, but extra chilly to the touch in the winter.

That’s one of the reasons he spends a lot of his time by the fireplace in the winter. It’s cozy too, so that’s a plus.

When snow falls, Omen is neutral about it. He doesn’t hate it or love it. It’s just nature doing its little nature thing. Some days he’ll sit by the fireplace and watch the snow fall, other days he’ll grumble about his back due to the change in air pressure. Yes. Being Radiant doesn’t make you exempt from the pains of aging!

After a particularly long snowfall, you invite Omen outside to play in the snow with you. He isn’t so sure, as it sounds like a childish thing. But maybe that’s just what he needs! To lighten up, and enjoy things like a kid! With your gentle coaxing, he agrees and steps outside with you.

He watches you make snow angels and little snowmen. You try to get him to do it with you too, and after a while, he bends down and helps you out.

As Omen is quite the crafty person, making snowmen comes easy to him somehow! His is rounder, and in better shape than yours. It’s hilarious to you, but Omen shrugs.

At one point, Omen feels a soft thud at the back of his head. He turns around to you holding a snowball, and chucking it at his head.

The Radiant is aware of his own strength, so while he is enjoying himself with you, he makes sure to be careful of how he throws his snowballs.
