Hi, Auntie Jilli! I'm sure you've answered this a billion times over, but I wouldn't know how to begin searching through the blogs. I was wondering how long it took you to accumulate a wardrobe in your style. I currently wear t shirts and workout leggings. I want to finally blossom into the glorious Victorian gothic I am inside.
The evolution into the Victorian-tinged Romantigoth wardrobe I have started in about ... 1996? And I’ve been accumulating things ever since.
Some tips for you (assuming you’re looking at female-presenting fashion; male-presenting fashion is high-collared shirt, ascot or cravat, waistcoat, good trousers):
If you can sew at all, head to the thrift stores and buy formal dresses with long full skirts. Cut them off at the waistline, then add an elastic waistband.
Long petticoats are available all over Amazon.
So are high-collared ruffly blouses!
For that matter, so are waistcoats and skirted coats.
In short, Chinese manufactured fashion has made assembling a Victorian-tinged lady wardrobe SUPER easy.

Lentils
mcornilliac replied to your post “I'm thinking about going vegetarian for financial and gut reasons, but...”
Lentils. And cheese. I have IBS and I just don’t digest black/ red beans well. But lentils work well for me and they are super versatile, boil them for a while with some veggies and some spices. I also like goat cheese, specially feta. Quinoa is super good, but is not that cheap, but it grows a lot when you cook it and it fills you up for a long time because of the high amount of proteins.
Unfortunately, I have the same texture problems with lentils. If they’re not cooked down to mush, I don’t really care for them. Maybe I just suck at cooking beans and lentils? I do love cheese, so that’s an easy source, but I know I need to up my fiber intake, hence the thinking about beans and whatnot.

mushrooms
Ooooh, mushrooms. I do love mushrooms and I know mixing mushrooms with ground beef is already a thing.

I cook massive pots of pasta sauce and throw tons of veggies and eggs in it
I feel silly asking, but do you just crack the eggs in and let them poach in the sauce or do you scramble them in?
Oh my gosh I love Sincerely, Yours so much! The drama, the sweetness of the letters, Tonyyyyy I'm crying. I love your work!!
Thank you!

also tvp if you want some extra protein and ground beef texture
I’ve actually never even heard of this stuff. Where does one acquire it? Is it expensive? (Again, I’m doing this partially for budgetary reasons, so whatever I’m subbing for meat has to be cheaper than meat.)

what are your feelings on tofu

Don't forget tofu either, particularly in stir fries -- you can get a bunch of meals out of one of those@!
I don’t mind tofu. I especially like it in mock egg salads and stuff.

good luck! it was hard for me to go veg
Yeah. I’m not sure how successful I’ll be. I might still eat meat if I’m out restaurants, but I try hard not to eat out too much (again, that pesky budget). It’s just building up a repertoire of go-to recipes that’s the toughest bit. Tonight I’m making mushroom spaghetti.
Aunt Jilli! Could you tell me what deck you're using in your most recent cartomancy post? (7/28/18)
You’re not the only person who’s asked! :)
It’s the Marigold Tarot, by Amrit Brar. https://shopamritbrar.com/
The shop also has 3 card “readings” - you buy one, and three physical cards are sent to you. I’m really, really tempted to get one, even tho’ I already have the deck.
