Ingredients: 3 lbs chuck roast. 1 packet dry onion soup mix. 1 cup beef broth. 1/2 cup red wine. 4 cloves garlic, minced. 4 carrots, chopped. 4 potatoes, chopped. 2 onions, sliced. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Add salt and pepper to the chuck roast. Put the roast in the crock pot. Put the dry onion soup mix, beef broth, red wine, and minced garlic in a bowl and mix them together. Add the mix to the slow cooker with the roast. Put the sliced onions, potatoes, and chopped carrots around the roast. It should be on low for 8 hours or high for 4 to 5 hours, until the meat is soft. The roast and vegetables should be taken out of the slow cooker when they are done. Take a knife and cut the roast across the grain. Serve with the vegetables.
