My awesome daughter joined me in a delivery to @wholefoods market in #tribeca yesterday. She was with me every step of the way. She learned how we respect our brand Screamin Onionz and others by treating the store well, it’s staff and their customers. We clean our area, the shelves we are on, face our labels forward and straighten the jars. . She made my day! Now she understands how a local SmallBiz can stand out among national brands. And we shared a burger 🍔 for lunch. . Here’s a quick & extremely delicious recipe for Classic Tomato Soup with a twist! : 2 T Olive Oil 1 T butter, unsalted 1/4 c Screamin’ Onionz 1 clove garlic, finely minced 2 T flour 3 c stock, vegetable, chicken or beef 1-28 oz can crushed tomatoes, we use @tuttorossotomatoes with basil 1/4 c heavy cream 1 T Italian seasoning Salt & Freshly milled pepper to taste 1. Place olive oil and butter in a heavy bottom pot and heat on med until bubbly. 2. Add garlic and Screamin’ Onionz and whisk together for 4 minutes. 3. Add flour and whisk for 4 minutes. Don’t let flour burn. 4. Add chicken stock, stir constantly until the mixture comes to a simmer and it thickens. 5. Add crushed tomatoes, stir until the mixture comes to a simmer. 6. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring every few minutes. 7. Add heavy cream right before stirring.
