brain rotting over my own KuyaRei series ,…. I just imagine Rei’s secret little sense of pride and admiration seeing Kuya’s mental health slowly improving
becos I imagine Rei felt so happy to see that Kuya was doing mentally well enough for the staff at the psych ward to determine that he was no longer a huge danger to himself and others to discharge him and let him free from the psych ward 💔
but Rei doesn’t outwardly say he’s happy and proud of Kuya for making progress. his love is more quiet and calm. so Rei shows his joy for Kuya’s improvement by being slightly more affectionate to his lover little by little where it’s barely noticeable
Kuya is a mess. Not many are able to stick around his side for long to see the day where he’s a better version of himself without going through his storm of internal battles first . Rei never gave up on him even though he knew he should’ve and chose to stay by his side for a DECADE, experiencing multiple near death experiences from both his and Kuya’s end almost constantly and a lot of incidents that broke his heart :(
The act of being there with your important one while they go through recovery and staying throughout all of that is one of the most beautiful proof of love and devotion to me and both Kuya and Rei have done that for each other <3
