I don't need the gym when I have the second variation of Pauline Viardot's Havanaise.

Every night like clockwork I get suddenly ravenous at around 10:00 pm.

But eating late triggers my acid reflux and despite my failures I still sing all the time.

So I go to sleep cranky and hungry.

In just the first 48 days of the year, 

I have had 4 rejection letters added to my collection. 

I’m waiting on two more now.

Felt like blogging, so here goes. 

Just one little thought. I’m super bored of my music currently because I’ve been working on these pieces for too long. Fortunately I’ll record them tomorrow and I can move on to other pieces. But between now and tomorrow I have to remember the beauty of this music so that I don’t give a blah performance. 

On to Handel, John Blow, more Bach, Schütz, and god knows what else. Probably a lot of Handel. Hopefully more Italian. Monteverdi?

spreading awareness of foreign affairs/propaganda/tragedies that happen to POC which no one writes about on facebook even though they hypocritically do #prayfor Western cities in crisis

and

promoting my opera, an 18th century farce.

Just got an email...

I'm a bit annoyed right now... I work for a summer opera program and the singers are set to arrive tomorrow. I'm not going. I only run the emails and online applications. But I got an email from a girl TONIGHT asking me when she should call and request a shuttle to take her from the airport a couple hours away to the location...... FIRST: this information is in the handbook. I always tell them to read the freaking handbook but they never do. I politely responded: "you need to call them immediately. Sometimes they require 24 hour notice so get it done as soon as possible." I didn't get her next email until midnight, which read: "The handbook doesn't have the phone number of the company! Can you send it to me please so I can call them!?" SECONDLY: The Handbook has a link to the shuttle company's website. All she has to do is click the link in the PDF to go to the website and see the information. But she wants me to drop what I'm doing, go to the Handbook, go to the website FOR her, and copy the phone number FOR her and send it to her. I did not. It's midnight. This is something that she should have done a while ago. Can she not google? Does she not internet? She emails just fine... I responded politely, but as my laptop is being repaired, and the handbook is not readily available on my phone and I'd have to search through emails to find a copy, I told her to go to the shuttle company's website and find the info, and to contact someone else, as I'm not going to be there. Seriously.... she's in her 20's. She's not a frickin baby. Grow up.
