ikr, those posts are really getting on my nerves too. There is literally so much you can do in self-isolation, for crying out loud, we live in a age where we have the internet and people (introverts) are already living this way no problem. People are acting like this lifestyle is more lethal than the virus. Besides that, at least these guys have it better than the people still out there working in hospitals, retail, and etc basically holding everything together now.
You're in my thoughts, Cat. I hope things get calmer for you soon. Or even better, hopefully this virus crap will be resolved soon, so we can all catch a dang break....
Thank you :) I feel horrible, but I kind of wish I was in self-isolation, just so I could rest, but since art/books/toy supplies seem to be an essential right now, I doubt my shop will be closing any time soon. (Not when there’s money to be made!!!🙃) (tbh it’s the dollar-eyes my managers make about the whole thing that makes me sick...)
And I get that for some people (esp. the elderly), isolation is difficult. We are a social species! We are not made to be on our own! (In the UK, folk over 70 have been recommended a 4-month isolation period, which actually will be mentally damaging if not handled very carefully...) (seriously, look after your elderly folk. They will be lonely.)
BUT the internet/social media right now is flooded with people discussing their free time, and oh whatever shall we do it’s tragic, and I am tired. While I am lucky I don’t have to deal with customers angry over no toilet paper or hand sanitiser, I am working longer hours than ever to keep jigsaws and kid’s toys and art and puzzle books and all that shit that people need to keep themselves entertained on the shelves.
Normally, on a weekday, we take between £1K - £1.5K.
We took over £6K yesterday.
6-fucking-K, and the only benefit I get out of it is that I still have a job.
Which is still better than most.
But I’m still tired.
after one glass I turn into diablo or diavlo
“These things happen” can they not all fucking happen at once
Two things about my day:
I still can't listen to Muna's I Know a Place.
I gave a handwritten coming out letter to my best friend.
