I got locked out of the house today since I forgot my key. I was able to make it into the backyard.
This has happened before, and I always find it peaceful to be between the winds. Rooms with people in them always have this warm noise, it makes my brain close up and I find I lose myself to something. Perception maybe? But people don't have be perceiving for me to feel it.
Perhaps it's routine I'm sick of. Everything is telling me that if I say in the same place, I won't be able to cope with what happens, but all I've ever relied on is this place.
3 days til Orbera gastric balloon placement and I’m getting soooo nervous! I picked up all meds except 1 it’s emend.... and crazy expensive!!!! Almost $700 for 3 pills... I’m still hoping my insurance will pick it up so I’m waiting for pharmacy to call me. I started my prep today - soft diet and no meat, tomorrow is liquids only then clear liquids til Thursday. Nothing red or purple so the Dr dosent see the color sing and think there is inflammation in the stomach.
I also stocked the house up on things for the prep and post placement. It Was basically like shopping for someone with a stomach flu- broths, gatorade zero, sugar free puddings and jello, hint water, protein shakes and protein waters. I also found bariatric vitamins that dissolve under ur tongue opposed to swallowing A pill- I didn’t know how much stomach will react to taking pills but I definitely want to make sure I get all my vitamins in. I hear other people say they lost their hair having this balloon and u will if u do not get enough vitamins and nutrient. I also opted to get bariatric products- like the broth and soups (low calorie, no sugar and high protein). I’ll keep u posted how tomorrow goes! Thank you for being a part of my journey
How much does a gastric balloon cost - I get asked that a lot. Depending on ur location I’m in Orlando florida USA and it’s between $5-$8k ...I paid right in the middle for mine..but the place I went to had 4 different financing companies to help get u get financed. Also mine covers pre and post placement, follow up care, 12months of a registered dietician, (u pay out pocket or thru insurance for the meds), your balloon and a stands behind there product IF ur balloon ruptures they send u another one for free and the 6 month (1year in other countries) timer starts over. Thank you for the questions and please continue to be a part of my journey

This is a gastric balloon it looks very similar to a breast implant. It has a silicone shell and will be filled with 600cc of sterile saline
Here is a sneak peek and an inside look at the Orbera gastric balloo. It fills up a portion of the stomach and also has some weight to it so you eat smaller portions and fill up faster. However it’s not a magic balloon- it’s just a tool you still have to change everything about your diet and activity level.
