After working on this lovely Orc on and off since before last Christmas, I finished Oltorn final design! (and forgot to post due to other projects needing attention x’D) But here he is :) You can find his old design further back on my tumblr if you’re interested in seeing how he changed!

Oltorn is an Orc chief for a small but peaceful village in the North. Their living enviroment and culture is inspired by my own country, Norway, and the Sámi people, with some added Viking inspiration. You can find Orcs of all walks of life among them, and they pride themselves in their weaving, clothes making and tanning. They are formidable hunters and warriors as well, but most of his people have long since abandoned the way of the sword when it comes to warfare. Despite this, not everyone agrees with living side by side with the Galdian elves, yet Oltorn keeps striving for a peace treaty. The clever, greedy and sly elves aren’t easy to convince however.

Oltorn is one of the youngest Orcs to be elected chief, but his calm, level headed demeanor, kindness and diplomatic skills brought him to the forefront of the elections. He can however be naive and too trusting (to his brother-in-arms, Broza’s big annoyance), and that’s what lands him in hot water in the end when an elven “princess” is offered up for marriage to make peace between his people and the elves. Little does he know that the “princess” isn’t entirely what she seems, and when the saying “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer” becomes a painful reality, everything he’s worked so hard for might come crashing down around him...
