Sorcerer-King Orgnum
Orgnum, the Sorcerer-King
Doing some research on the Maormer people, here’s the most interesting things I learned in the past hour:
Potema and Orgnum slept together in diplomatic politeness
Orgnum may very well be the Serpent god Satakal, the Yokudan god of everything. People who worship Satakal dispute it unless they are of Maormer descent.
The Maormer were never “exiled” from the Isles. Orgnum was a phenomenally wealthy Aldmeri diplomat that attempted to use his social standing to rebel against the Aldmeri powers. He and his supporters were exiled from Aldmeris, not the Isles. And they found Pyandonea in “The Veil of Mist.”
During the War if the Isles in 3E 110, the Altmer, the Imperial legion, and the fucking Psijic Order ganged up on the Maormer armada. A sudden “storm” devastated Orgnum’s fleet, and they never mustered up another attack.
The last known owner of King Orgnum’s Coffer was the Eternal Champion (protagonist of the Elder Scrolls: Arena)
Orgnum utilizes “snake magic” to control the minds of sea-serpents
There’s a cross breed of sea-serpents and Maormer known as Leviathans. They stand “a head above the tallest Nords” and they stand with their back arched, ready to strike.
They really like mudcrab.
Did You Know: King Orgnum, the Maormer ruler of Pyandonea, is seemingly immortal? Not only is he said to be immortal, but he also appears to grow younger with every passing century. Additionally, he is the original owner of the eponymous King Orgnum's Coffer, which magically granted him an infinite amount of money. It is also believed that he is truly the Serpent God of the Satakal, the Yokudan god of everything.

Potema.
Potema please.
"She deemed it to be the polite and diplomatic thing to do."

Many still believe that the Maormer race of Pyandonea diverged from the racial line of the Altmer when they were exiled from Summerset Isle as criminals. This is the great, traitorous lie of the Altmer!
Translations of tapestries in the Crystal Tower reveal that the great Maormer race is directly descended from the purest strain of our Aldmeri ancestors. We certainly did not come from Summerset, but originated in our ancestral homeland of Aldmeris.
The Altmer themselves are a mongrel race. They are the abomination that drove our great leader Orgnum to lead our people through the impenetrable mists to our haven of Pyandonea.
For centuries, we have marshaled our forces in preparation for our triumphant return. Summerset is ours, by our right of birth as the one true Aldmeri race. All trace of the inferior Altmer race and their mongrel blood must be wiped from the face of Tamriel!
Our time has come! Arise, Maormer! Take your place as the rightful heirs to the Aldmeri Legacy!
--From The Chosen People of Aldmeris, expressing the Maormer position on their ancient conflict with the Altmer.
The ages old conflict between Altmer and Maormer has raged so continuously, and so long, that it is easy to come under the impression that it is a complicated struggle. Built, layer upon layer, century upon century, of two-sided wrongs and reprisals. This is a fallacy of the most harmful order. It grants a hint of legitimacy to deprivations that deserve none. The Maormer have never held claim over the Isles of Summerset, and gods willing, they never shall.
I fear the fallibility we have developed in our fall from Aldmeri grace has led to the common misconception that we are close siblings to those who dwell in Pyandonea, but the truth of the matter is that we are far distant cousins with only a shred of common ancestry. This welcome revelation comes from previously untranslated Aldmeri tapestries within the Crystal Tower. The unmitigated truth revealed at last, after painstaking study, speaks not of a common plight of reluctant migration and tragic diaspora, but a tale of treachery and exile.
The blood the Maormer spill has always been in the name of greed and hungry ambition. Their corrupt "king," Orgnum, thought to usurp our ancient homeland of Aldmeris from its rightful rulers, just as he seeks to steal Summerset from us. The Maormer are a despicable people who do not deserve the guilt of conscience some have afforded them for too long. Any debate on the matter is closed, the Maormer apologists are silenced, and the prosecution of war against the Pyandoneans should be carried out without remorse.
--From The False Revanchism of the Maormer, expressing the Altmer position on their ancient conflict with the Maormer.
Tl;dr, in my headcanon, Orgnum is a minor Aedra that tried to stand up to Auri-El like a rebellious teenager, lost, and got his ass kicked to Pyandonea along with his followers, which he is still bitter about to this day. His sphere is related to cycles (seasons, kalpas, life), leading me to think he has some kind of relationship to Auri-El/Akatosh. He reincarnates over and over (since, as an Aedra, he's technically mortal), like a snake shedding its skin, making him seem immortal and eternally youthful to the Altmer.
