My book Hamster Mortis got the attention of a local filmmaker, who as part of a final project for a class put together a professionally read version of it with a real voice actor and its own original score.

I'm very honored that my book inspired these artists to collaborate in such a beautiful way.

Any authors out there?

Hey guys! I'm doing some "author uplifts" where I take an author photo (if they want) and pictures of their works (with links where to buy) and make posts and YouTube videos talking about each one. I'm hoping to start a back log so I can set up a schedule to release them regularly (still deciding on once a week or once every other week). This YouTube channel is basically going to be posting about writing How To's, author uplifts, profession connection (where I basically post about cover artists/models, writers looking for cowriters/commissions, etc. to connect them together), writing resources, writing prompts/submissions (I'm hoping people will tag me or submit their pieces based on the writing prompts I post so I can read them - with their permission and links back to the original pieces - as a means to get better at narration for when I want to make my own audiobooks).

I'm not charging or anything like that for author uplifts. I figure if I'm trying to build a community centered around something I love, I can also bring attention to authors/writers who deserve all the love and share the spotlight.

Would anyone here like to send me a link to their works (and a photo of themselves if they so desire - not required) so I can make a post/video about them? I'm just starting out, so gaining traction will take a while, but you know what they say: the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago but the second best time is today.

Yall, i've been thinking about this series i might write, called "The Gotham Files" (idk if its an original name) or "Behind the Masks"

It'd be basically what you'd expect: about the bats, what goes on in Gotham, the villians, etc.

Im nit sure if i wanna add the otyer heroes inti this or nah. It will either be a comic or readable.

I have some ideas for it:

The first one would be called "But i'm not..."

It would be about Tim dealing with the fact he's no longer robin, thanks to Damian appearing. He would say "but im not…" Robin. Im not Bruce's son. Im not the one who wanted." It would end, after he saves the day, and he'd go "i saved the day again, but im not perfect." And Damian, surprisingly, would go, "noone is."

Second one would be called "Three."

Basically about Dick lamenting about his parents, remembering how the three of them would talk, interact, play, train, etc, together.

He gets sad about this, and everyone can tell.

When Damian finally goes, "enough charades, Grayson, what's wrong?" Dick remebers he still has a family. And goes "three. Three Flying Graysons, three loving brothers." But the three brothers would be reffering to Duke, Tim, and Damian, with Jason off to the side, staring longingly, which would lead to the next episode:

"Its not fair."

Jason stares at his four brothers happiness and gets upset, because, he never got that. He sees Bruce so happy with them and's upset. He has the right.

Jason would be chasing other crimebosses off his teritory in crime alley, and would find a kid crying because his parents were killed by said crimebosses. Jason would try t ocomfort the kid to his best abilities, bu tyhe kid would hate him because "your the reason they're dead!" And Jason woukd agree.

Jason tyen starts trying ti befriend tye kid, even if he doesnt know why he feels the obligation.

Eventually, the kid trusts him enough tixbreaj down crying "its not fair!" And jason would say ruefully, "i know kid, i know." An dit would end with tge kid being hugging Jason while jason says "the Bat's justice isnt always fair. So we have to be."

Also some short ones i need to expand on:

Both Spoiler and Jason both feeling hated by the Bat and unexpectedly bonding over it. I'd call it "unwanted people, unexpected friends"

Maybe Damian finally relizing the Waynes love him and finally trying tobond with them. Maybe calling it "i want this."

IF i add other supers into this:

"Maybe he has a heart" Superman and Wonderwoman come to Gotham to discuss a threat with Batman, byt realize they know nothing about him, until they meet his family.

(Yes in this AU he gave them his identity) they see him tell Tim about health, they watch him teach Damian something, watch as Dick climbs all over him like he's still five an dBruce just smiling. Their visionof the threatening bat is completely disolved, when they watch jim get beaten by Damian at chess.

If yall have ideas lmk, also, what form should this be in? Really bad Flippaclip, writing, or comic?

Of Manors, Mirrors, and Magic Prologue Excerpt

Preview of my current novel😊

The melody rings through the empty halls of the abandoned mansion, so full of longing and despair that the very walls and floors wish to weep alongside it. The house has not heard a sound beyond the rustling of the trees and the tittering of the birds for so long. It captures the music, letting it float through the hallways and down the stairs and into the courtyard for far longer than should be possible. Magic like this has been unheard of for the centuries it has lain dormant.

In a sitting parlor adjoining the grand entry hall, a mirror sits, its glass warped and pocked with age. But the song emanates from it, so violently the frame rattles and comes free from the wall. The dull thud it makes when it hits the floor is somehow like a drumbeat that rings in time with the melody. Now leaning back against the wall at a skewed angle, the mirror shows the tilted reflection of the ceiling, draped in cobwebs and crawling with an audience of tiny spiders.

The spiders watch as, slowly, the tarnished gold begins to glow, and the glass undulates like waves upon a shore. Before their very eyes, the mirror is restored to its formal glory. As if someone reached out and pushed it back in time.

Day 5 of trying to get you invested in my original book "Bound By Name" by posting short character intros!

"Spring", one of the cooks in the Palace kitchens and also the resident mother figure. A chubby satyr woman who always has a hug and a plate of delicious cupcakes for anyone who's struggling just a bit too much that day.

Random notes: Her name might be revealed in the book but honestly I dunno, maybe not. Her apron is also constantly covered with flour as she specializes in baking. The magic she has is almost entirely fire related, and while it could be used for destruction, it's mostly used to make sure no food gets burnt
