What is with this place? It’s a struggle to encounter nearly any pokemon he recognizes, but seemingly no problem to catch sight of Mewtwo, and then Mew itself, within a week of one another. (Or perhaps it’s just that one can be found wherever the other is? He didn’t get the impression they were that friendly with one another...)

...Anyway, trying to catch Mew outright is going to be a bust. He doesn’t have a pokeball, and he can’t come up with a trap good enough for it without help from the others. But maybe... he can get it to ally with him?

“You’re a rare sight!” And then he pauses. “Hang on, now-- since when did you have a collar?”

There’s a little someone, not like anything he’s met before, flying around without any visible thrusters. That’s so strange!

Most of the outdoor creatures he meets (other than humans, usually) scurry off when he comes near, though, so he pauses in place, even though he really wants to meet them. Instead, he watches from where he is, and starts lifting and bobbing his head in sync with their movements. At one point, he tilts his head so far he nearly makes himself fall over, and has to stop and shake his head for a second before refocusing on them.

From his perch in a tree, Meta Knight watches something pink, floaty, carefree, and yet not one he knows. They start to turn, about to see him watching them, so he looks away - as though he’s been watching this bird the entire time.
