31. WET NURSE

Totally based out of Orlando, Florida, USA is the one-and-only WET NURSE. Consisting of sisters Nina Chaplin (Vocals/Guitar) & Susana Chaplin (Vocals/Bass), as well as Vanessa Brewster (Drums); Baile Yeager also in this video/former member (Guitar). Wet Nurse is one of my favorite bands to come out of Orlando. I believe this band is keeping the punk vibe alive & well in the Orlando City scene. 

Wet Nurse successfully captures a super-catchy and totally excellent melodic sound, complimented with the absolutely perfect harmonies of sisters Nina & Susana. The band’s tubular punk vibe is mixed with some elements of bubble-gum-pop as well as hints of surf rock (Totally Rad). Nina’s killer guitar work soars above the band’s groovin’ rhythms and soulful harmonies amidst the feminine angst. 

I saw Wet Nurse open for Bleached back in like 2017 - absolutely enjoyed their live set and TOTALLY talked to Nina for a second about her sweet Weezer shirt (Pinkerton!) while she was bustin’ out her rad guitar. They are SO AWESOME live! That was just an all-around sweet show (Totally met Bleached that night too - totally nice people). Wet Nurse is one of the best bands to ever come from the Orlando scene and I think everyone should check out their music - Really, really awesome sounds from some totally awesome ladies!
