I’ve had a few request about Omens, just wanted to make sure that it was concluded properly and I wasn’t phoning it in. So without further ado Omens’ Finale.
~~~~~~
“Yes!”
No!
“I love to.”
I hate it!
“Please, my love?”
Fuck you!
You hated this, you hated this so much! No matter what you wanted to say, the opposite is what came from your mouth, all because of that spell.
That spell, that damn spell backfired on you! You had misread one line, one Six Damn line and now you were a prisoner of your own design. You figured that you were well versed in ancient writings and reading! There was no way that you misread the stupid spell!
Place on the heart and by the mind, your spell will work in due time. A peaceful rest and you will find, your hearts and soul quite a lined
a lined
A LINED!
At the time you were so caught up in trying to escape, that hadn’t even realized it. Of course that wasn’t a break up spell, it was a stupid heart to heart spell. Only when you found yourself awakened three days later in that false embrace did you even realize that you were still in this hell.
How foolish could you be?
Apparently dumb enough to pick one that had been working for well over a month at this point. Each time you try to pull away, it would only make the spell work harder against you. At times you weren’t even certain of what you truly wanted.
Your body felt like it was trapped within some type of limbo all the time. You were always arguing with yourself, constantly fighting as the you that hated this, that hated being this way. Treated so fragile, so coddled and weak.
Against a part that started so small and quiet, who loved it. It was so soft at first, you were able to ignore and over power it from time to time, but eventually you began to notice that it was becoming something stronger.
In moments of clarity you’d find yourself tearing through libraries and ancient tomes trying to find a way, some way to leave, to break this spell but then you heard the other you.
They love us, don’t you see?
As you sat in this room, alone with your thoughts, you wanted to try, you wanted to try and find some way to break this curse, but each time you attempted to stand to go to those book lined shelves that got you into this mess, that other voice you tried to kill, would stop you.
“They love us.”
They don’t!
“They always have, can’t you see.”
They want control, they want to keep me a pet.
You weren’t even aware that you had begun to pace, the long trains of the dress you were wearing dragging against the floor, as your heels clacked against the cold hard floor.
“They don’t, they truly do love us.”
There is no us! This is my body and you’re just a spell, a spell that has gone on too long.
“No, can’t you see,” You feet stopped pacing as you moved before the large floor length mirror, framed by spirals and swirls of beautiful design. Still the beauty of the mirror was long forgotten as you stared ahead directly into the mirror meeting your own gaze.
Red, a beautiful red, that may have once reminded you of love, sat in a heart shape in your eyes.
“You are me.”
Those words left your lips, at the same time you grabbed one of the vases from one of the side table, throwing it as hard as you could into the mirror with a scream of defiance, watching as the large mirror shattered around you. Almost in slow motion as you kept catching glances of that red, that beautiful red seeming to be mocking you time and again. You felt like you were drowning, but still you kept screaming.
I’m not crazy!
You chanted this time and time again like a mantra, but it seemed like it was getting softer, quieter each time. Were you crazy, was that a part of this spell, was it making you insane? You were fighting with yourself.
“Y/N?”
You turned, tears in your eyes, a whirlwind of destruction around you. So caught up in the rage and hate, you hadn’t noticed the destruction around. Books destroyed, glass everywhere, furniture upturned. But in all that destruction, there they stood, almost like a beacon of hope.
A glass of water in this horrid desert you found yourself in.
You gave a sniff, feeling one of your shoes slip on a torn page, as you raced across the room with a soft wail into arms opened for you.
“Shh, shh it’s okay, Y/N.”
You gave another cry, hearing those sweet comforting words from Prompto.
“Darling, you’re hurt.”
You felt Ignis trying to take your hand from where you had clenched tightly to Noctis, trying to form some type of sentence, but each time it came out in frustrated wails.
“Let Iggy, see you hand, Babe.”
At the soft voice of Gladiolus, you allowed Ignis to see to the hand, your face still buried into Noctis’s neck. Prompto’s comforting hand caressing your back, it felt so lovely.
“What happened, Y/N?” Noctis inquired, his arm tightly around you.
You gave another sob, you couldn’t face them right, you just couldn’t. All you wanted right now was…
Their warm comforting touch.
*
“Do you feel better, Darling?” Ignis asked, taking your mug from you, that was once filled with soup.
You gave a weak nod, sharing Gladiolus’s lap, with Prompto who had refused to release you. You didn’t trust your voice, it was still raw from your screaming, and the apparent tantrum within the library. The other voice was also much more silent than before.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Prompto asked, a hand stroking your hair.
You shook your head, leaning into the touch.
“Just a bad day?” Gladiolus followed up.
You thought for a moment, before nodding. Your eyes turning to Noctis, as he moved before you, taking your left hand, looking it over. Just an hour ago, it was covered in blood from a large gash, from throwing furniture or the glass, but thanks to a potion it had healed rather nicely.
“Y/N, this is mine.” Noctis stated, those blue eyes turning to meet your gaze. “You are mine, do you understand?”
There was no hesitation, no fight, just a firm,
“Yes, Noctis.”
*
A blur, you struggled from time to time, but the fight, that fire just seemed to die, you hadn’t even realized it. Was it over time, or was it just removed in one go?
You recalled, standing within the garden with Ignis, every opportunity, you had every chance to go, to run. No one was holding you back, there were no chains, no tethers, nothing to hold you to him, but still you stayed, never too far away from him. At most you made certain to stay within his sight, or so that you could always see him. It made you uncomfortable not to know where he was, or not be within his sight, or any of their sight for that matter.
You recalled smacking a tray of food from Prompto, but the moment your hand came into contact with the tray, you immediately found yourself in his arms, apologizing, checking him over to make sure he wasn’t hurt. He constantly assured you it was an accident and when you thought about it, it really was, there was no ill will, simply a wrong place at the wrong time.
You recalled resting in the large nook window of the apartment, only to suddenly find yourself being lifted. You flailed and shrieked, pulling away only to relax when you heard that deep chuckle from Gladiolus. Your panic immediately became affectionate cuddles.
You recalled running, fast and hard. Your dress picked up, almost as if working on muscle memory, your feet dragged you to an exit, but then you’d turn. Only to gasp as a flash of blue appeared for you, and you were face to face with a soft smile, that you were certain was a reaction to one on your own face.
Noctis had caught you again.
You didn’t fight his victory kiss, no any of the kisses. You craved them, wanting nothing more than to be physically shown their love.
You thought of the freedom you had gotten in the halls of the Citadel, no longer escorted, but still you feet your dragged you somewhere familiar somewhere close to them. Almost as if you were searching for something, trying to find something, only to find that it was taking you to them.
There were a few times when you’d find yourself outside in the middle of the night, suddenly awakened as you fell into the river. There was no one there to take you back, but still you climbed from the river, wet, and you sat and waited.
It never took long, before you were found, wrapped in arms and escorted back.
Back Home.
*
“Is it really okay?” You asked.
“Yeah.” Noctis chuckled.
You only asked, because you were supposed to be down in the central ballroom, being introduced as the Prince’s betrothal party. Your veil finally to be removed, as you were introduced as the future Princess of the Kingdom. While most of the party was underway, you were assured time and again that it was okay for the five of you to slip away for a breather, as the future Princess was of “Delicate health” and just needed a moment.
What you hadn’t expected was to find yourself in this more office suite apartments. This one was stationed not too far from Ignis’s but sat higher up within the citadel, appearing almost to be a high rise apartment within itself, if not for the hundreds of books behind the large desk, and beautiful dark furniture that littered the room. But the most amazing thing of all was the huge window, one entire wall was just a window. Seeing that it was high enough from the ground floors, the lights from the city and the castle didn’t object to the stars.
“How pretty.” You found yourself cooing, as Noctis moved you over to the window. From up this far, everyone and everything looked so small, like little toys.
“It is a wonderful view.” Ignis stated, having poured a few drinks, handing yourself and Noctis the first two.
“Thank you, Iggy.” You cooed accepting the glass, before he moved over to hand Gladiolus and Prompto theirs.
“Tonight’s been pretty awesome.” Prompto smiled, “How about a toast?”
“A toast?” Gladiolus chuckled.
“Yeah, to an awesome future.” Prompto laughed, his glass high.
Ignis gave a playful sigh as he raised his glass, “I believe that the honor should be Y/Ns.”
“Me?”
“Yeah how about it?” Noctis chuckled his glass raised next to you.
You held the glass in your hand, thinking for a moment before raising it to the sky, “May the worst day of our futures, be the happiest day of our past.”
A round of cheers echoed the room, as everyone's glass moved to their lip
As you sipped your drink, your eyes turned back towards the night sky, only to find them focused back on you, that red had returned, much brighter in your eyes. But not just there, on your chest, there was no mistaking it, the same color red, in the shape of a heart glowing brightly. seeming to be beating along to your own heart. You stepped towards the window, hand raised to touch your reflection.
“What is...?”
“Didn’t think it would take this long.” Noctis replied beside you.
“What would take this long?” You asked, only to turn as you found Ignis behind you, having removed the power dampening necklace from your neck. A surge of trapped magic flooding through you.
“The spell.” Noctis stated, as if that would answer your question.
“The spell, what do you...no.” You gasped in horror, that small flame suddenly began to roar again as the pieces begun to fall. That veil you allowed to control you begun to fall. “You, you did this. What did you do to me?”
“Sorry, Y/N, it was the only way we could protect you.” Prompto offered reaching out, only for you to shove him away. “Don’t be angry.”
You suddenly realized that you were being surrounded, you held tightly to the glass of booze within your hand to ground yourself. “What the hell did you do?”
“Y/N, careful, the dampener was removed…” Gladiolus began as he reached for you, only to have you pull away, releasing another surge of magic.
“Answer me!” You screamed, that fire was raging now, you knew, you knew that there was no way you would have messed up this bad. The fight was coming back, “What the fuck did you do to me!?”
“We’ve removed the dampener, we don’t want it to react to the final steps of the spell.” Ignis stated, always calm and collected, he stayed out of your striking range but close enough that he could get to you.
This only pissed you off more, “You fucked up the spell and you did this to me, this isn’t me.”
“Y/N, I’ve told you time and again,”
You turned toward Noctis before you, all of your anger was boiling over, you almost fell for it. You almost fell for this false love, this false joke of love. You almost let them win!
“...I’m going to protect you.”
You hadn’t realized what you had done until you felt both Gladiolus and Ignis grab a hold of you, the empty glass shattering at your feet. You had tossed your drink directly within Noctis face, “Fuck you! You son of a bitch! I’m not…”
You were quickly hushed as you felt your back slammed against the window, Noctis standing before his hand tight to your chin, keeping you facing him, your gaze unable to go anywhere else but his own. That predatory magic was what was keeping you pressed against the wall, at his mercy.
You tried focusing, a way to escape. You could try the window. There would be no way you could survive the fall from this high, but maybe you could drag this bastard down with you. You tried again and again but the window was too thick.
“Don’t try that, you’ll just wear yourself out.” Ignis stated.
“Noct’s office is the most secure. Sound proof and resistance.” Gladiolus followed up.
You felt your flame flicker as that bright red begun to slowly creep over you vision. As if rose colored glasses were being forced on you.
“This is for your own good, I tried to make you see, we all did. But you go and you take a book to try and leave us. Luckily Specs found it before you could do anything foolish.”
You thought about it, there was no way they didn’t find it, you had fainted and they had changed you out of the dress. “How?”
“A photocopied page, simply switched two spell names.” Ignis replied. “You do recall the, amor aeternus spell.”
Amor Aeternus? The eternal love spell. That’s what they used! A spell that was banned and said to have been destroyed thousands of years ago due to the fact no one could break it. It would start my taking over the mind and then the heart.
“Once it’s completed we won’t have to ever have this conversation again. It’s too late now, Y/N.”
There appeared to be a sad smile on his face. Did he have some guilt behind this? Did he honestly feel sorry? Or was it all part of his act too?!
You let out a sob, you just wanted to know, you deserved to know, “Why, why me?”
“Because there’s no one else.” Noctis removed his hand from you chin, to stroke you cheek. “You are mine, Y/N.”
You followed their gaze to the glowing heart on your chest, noticing now that it was filling up before it disappeared. You turned horrified eyes back to Noctis’s gaze finding his staring directly at you, you felt tears fill your eyes, you had lost.
You had already known the answer but the tears fell as you gave a shuttered, “Why?”
You tried again and again to resist.
Begging yourself to resist.
But found yourself screaming
For more.
For their affection and their love.
The small inferno, gone, not even an ember left into existence. The spell had done its job.
You felt the hand leave your cheek as Noctis stepped away. All of them hovering over you, watching intently.
“Their is only one thing left Noct.” Ignis stated as Noctis nodded.
“Y/n,” Noctis called, the only way he knew you heard him was from your body stiffening at his voice. “ I love you.”
“Y/N, I love you.” Prompto echoed.
“I love you, Y/N.” Gladiolus repeated.
“I love you.” Ignis duplicated.
Without any second thought or hesitation, you lifted your head. The red heart on you chest vanished, as the red within your eyes flashed once before returning to their normal color.
i live for your ot4 + 1 stories omg... Could I have like,a super fluffy one?With lots and lots of smooches and cuddles?Thanks xx
Thank you Darling! I adore the OT4+1! I do hope that you love this one too!
~
It had been a month! One entire month since you had all gotten together and actually be together like you were intended. Your relationship was something that you took great pride in and while you didn’t mind one on one time with one of your boyfriends or even if only some of you got together, there was always that missing feeling, that missing piece of being able to have all five of you together as was your normal.
So this morning when you had woken up with only a stuffed Chocobo in bed you had to admit you were getting a little lonely! When you’re used to sleeping with four other people sharing the Behemoth King sized bed, it got really lonely really fast to wake up as the only person in the bed.
Whoever the jerk that coined the phrase: ‘Absence makes the heart grow fonder’, never went a month without a proper dose of affection!
This month was a busy one for the Royals, it was meeting upon meeting, traveling, and balls. Strengthening allies and forging bonds! It was a tradition as old as the beautiful city you called home.
You knew that falling in love with these men meant falling in love with a job that would take them away from you. You yourself could only attend so much of their lives, the more glitz and glamor parts. You appeared at every ball, every media event that required you to be there to be the “Prince’s Girlfriend”. All the political stuff was far beyond your realm of understanding or caring for that matter, so your presence didn’t apply when it came to the day to day meetings.
Still, it didn’t mean that your heart didn’t ache for them when they were suddenly gone so long that their scent no longer lingered on their pillows or clothes in the apartment.
Prompto got a lot more time off than your other three boyfriends. Granted he didn’t have a 9-5 type of job, some of his shifts would run him days at a time, and even then he still had to go to training with Cor. For the past month, he had been out of the house with Gladiolus at 5am almost every day. Only to return home at 11pm, getting something in the stomach. a shower, and you were then putting him to bed.
Gladiolus, on the other hand, was use these long stints. He had been training for it for all his life, he knew how to train that wonderful body to withstand pretty much anything that could be thrown at him. But you could count on one hand the amount of times that you got to actually cuddle with him. He had to spend quite a bit of time at the castle second only to Ignis.
Ignis was a very dutiful man, you often worried simply because you feared he would crash. He was so stoic and always held such a strong powerful demeanor that if one didn’t know the Advisor they wouldn’t notice the slights in his posture and gaze that showed even he was at a limit. He would only return to the apartment on nights that Noctis could sneak away, but even those moments were so short and in between.
Noctis was the one that often would apologize to you when something would take him away, but you couldn’t blame him. You never blamed him! It wasn’t his fault that he was such an important person. You felt the lingering hold he gave you when Ignis would awaken him to take him away for the day.
You were often offered a room within the Citadel, which you only took up when a party ran late, or there was no one to escort you home for the evening. You didn’t wish to have them worried about you and your needs when they had so many more important things to worry about. Besides having to sneak into their rooms to get your cuddles and kisses was only fun for the first couple of times.
You knew it was hard, not just for you, but for them as well. So you were determined to always get up, walk them to the door, no matter what ungodly time in the morning it was that they would have to leave to start their days. Providing a kiss and a hug and a sweet “Have a nice day! I love you.” before they were gone for who knows how long this time, and you’d return to a large empty bed.
At least that was your normal until this week when suddenly the bed and apartment were empty all week, due to them taking lodging at the Castle as it was easier to stay there. No amount of video games, shopping, reading, or sleeping seemed to make the time go faster. You’d get a quick voice message waking you up, or telling you good night, or a text when on a break but that wasn’t filling this void.
So today when you were ushered into the car by one of the Crowns Guard you couldn’t help but stop smiling. Your carriage was whisking you away to the Citadel, where the Farewell party was to take place within the next few hours. You’d finally get the missing pieces of your heart back!
Even just being in the same building as them, made you feel so much better. You had caught a glimpse of Noctis and Ignis on their way to another meeting. Noctis stopped looking ready to take off towards you, only to be halted by Ignis, who you knew if he wasn’t trying to keep them both on schedule would have run to sweep you up in his arms.
So for the moment, you settled for a smile, wave of the hand, and slight bow of the head. You watched them disappear first on their way, before continuing to your perfect evening. You sat through the primping, the styling, squeezing into the slimming dress, all of it with a smile because tonight would be the night you got to be just the tiniest selfish. But you so earned it!
As it was normal for you now, you stood before the large doors to the ballroom. Wearing one of the latest dresses that you were certain cost way too much for the fabric, but you knew that it was part of the package. One more quick over by those lovely ladies that helped you get ready, and you were left alone.
“Announcing…”
You took a deep inhale, it was easier to do this with one of the others, but you had figured that they all actually had to be within the room, so you were forced to go in alone. The doors cracked open, as you counted to three like Ignis had told you to, before taking a step forward.
The entrance faced the throne, where you were greeted to King Regis and Clarus but your Prince was missing, and knowing that at least Ignis and Gladiolus would be by his side it kind of confused you. Only for your eyes to move to the dance floor, finding Noctis standing there, along with Prompto and Gladiolus all three of their eyes trained to you as if you were the only person within the room, but where was Ignis?
If you weren’t so worried that you would have tripped over yourself you would have rushed down to the dance floor immediately to launch yourself at them but luckily you remained calm and level headed. Only to make your way down the stairs, immediately finding a gloved hand assisting you down the final three. A huge smile on your face as you felt Ignis lift your hand to his lips before escorting you to King Regis for your customary greeting.
A curtsey to the King and you found another hand before you, this time finding Gladiolus, another quick press of his lips to the knuckles where only a moment ago Ignis’s lips had been, before he moved you over to Noctis, his large steps shorten. You couldn’t tell if it was so that he got a little more time with you, or because he didn’t want you to trip in your dress, but either way it was nice to have him there.
Your hand pasted to Noctis, as you bowed again, only customary, as Noctis hated it but the royal protocol and all that jazz required you to bow to your Prince. You felt Noctis move you to the dance floor, having to stifle a giggle, as you heard the flourish of the band started.
“What’s so funny?” Noctis asked, as he began the dance.
You smiled nailing the first spin easily, “You.”
“What about me?” He inquired, parting from you before spinning you back towards himself.
“You would save the first dance for me?” You jokingly asked, making certain to stay far enough away, the last thing you needed was a repeat of practice when you accidentally hit his injured leg and took the both of you down. Granted that got you babying him all evening, which Noctis absolutely adored.
“Well yeah.” Noctis chuckled. “Had to fight Prompto for the spot.”
“Where is that ray of sunshine?”
“He’s with the Marshal on duty, but he said to save him a dance,” Noctis replied, as you giggled. Those blue eyes lowered for a moment, before focusing back on you, “Y/N, I’m…”
You hushed him as you pulled further into him, “No apologies, I love all of you. This is just a part that I love too, granted slightly less but still, I love it all the same.”
Noctis chuckled, “Thank you.”
By the time you were all in the car heading home together, you had to admit that you suddenly felt that all those teasing moments of affection made you, even more, touch starved for the others. Common courtesy and Royal Rules made PDA very difficult to come by. You could only get so many hand kisses, and dances before you felt that it wasn’t doing enough. You wanted actual kisses, cuddles, and affection not these four-minute dances and second long kisses.
It was your affection and cuddles and you wanted them…
NOW!
“You all right?”
You almost didn’t hear the question, so focused on trying not to jump across the car to one of them and just explode in affection. “I’m good.” You lied, noticing the apartment come into view, you could hold it in! You did so for a month, what was just ten more, long, grueling agonizing more minutes?
You put all your attention into holding onto the hem of your dress, lifting it so that you didn’t get it caught in the car door, or the elevator door. You entered the apartment after Gladiolus and Prompto as always, the two guards making certain that the room was safe to enter, trailed by Noctis and Ignis who made certain that you didn’t get caught in the door.
You told yourself that you’d wait until you were out of the dress until you could remove your makeup and your hundreds of bobby pins. But then you saw the suit jackets being removed, the removed necktie, the slightly messed up hair, and the relaxed nature.
“Y/N, would you…”
You weren’t certain of who you had grabbed first, only to drag them towards you as you finally got a kiss that you wanted for so long. Only after a moment did you realize that it was Ignis you had closest to you, more than likely asking if you wanted help getting out of your dress before you grabbed him.
“How long have you been holding that in?” Gladiolus chuckled, only to grunt as you unexpectedly reached up, grabbing the first thing you could get ahold of, which was, unfortunately, his hair, yanking him towards you as you pressed a kiss to his lips.
“She’s worse than you Prom,” Noctis chuckled, as you turned wrapping your arms around Prompto’s neck, pulling him forward as you pressed a kiss to the blonde.
“You say that like it’s a bad thing.” Gladiolus laughed, managing to hold a daze but happy Prompto up, as you cupped the Prince’s cheeks, pulling him into your final barrage of kiss attacks.
“My love,” Ignis called, as you released Noctis, turning toward the man with a flushed face, judging by the others, he couldn’t tell if there was more lipstick on your lips or the others. “Shall we get you out of the dress and we can properly provide you with the affection you so rightfully deserve?”
You managed to get yourself under control for just a moment, before nodding, “You have five minutes, I’m getting my cuddles, dress or no dress.”
“I vote no dress.” Gladiolus chuckled, moving over to scoop you up in his arm moving you back to the bedroom.
“I second!” Prompto cheered from behind the big guy.
“Third!” Noctis echoed, working on removing his collared shirt.
Ignis chuckled fondly, “It’s unanimous. Shall we then?”
You would be more than happy to fulfill that request, no questions asked.
Last update of the Year/Decade/Whatever. Happy New Year, Loves!
★⌒ヽ(´ ❥ `)
~~~~
How did this happen again? Oh right, you were the honored guest this year. A position that many people often wanted.
Deam Anni.
A position of the person to rule in the New Year, there would be a huge party at the Castle, with dancing, party and from you were told cake. So much cake! You recalled watching it when you were younger, dazzled by the royalty in their ensembles that sparkled and gleamed on TV.
You never really were the type to actually go to the Castle and watch the party in person. From the horror stories you’ve read on the internet, it was always crowded and noisy and people were basically standing on top of each other. You’d much rather be comfy at home, pants optional.
Yet this year you were granted the news with a huge smile from four of the most important people in your life. You didn’t want to let them down, but still, it was almost an hour out and you had a while until the party but here you were going over last-minute plans and fittings and all that jazz.
You let out a winch as you felt another bobby pin be placed in your hair to hold up the large starburst crown on your head. Everything was already heavy enough, and you felt that if you’d tipped even the slightest bit left or right, you’d be a poor little turtle stuck until someone flipped you over.
Still what made you most upset is that you hadn’t seen the others all day. When you arrived at the Castle, you were basically dragged into room after room, getting last-minute adjustments and being filled in for what you’d have to do for the night.
“Are you ready?”
Let’s get this fucking thing over with!
Is what you wanted to say, but instead you smiled, “Of course!”
You felt one of the sweet ladies attending you pick up the train to the long night filled sky dress. You had to admit that it felt very goddess-like to wear it. As you enter the courtyard backstage, you suddenly worried if the poor Chocobo you would have to ride on could support your weight with all this stuff on. Granted Chocobos could carry the big guy so there wasn’t any reason it wouldn’t be able to carry the extra 30 pounds of fabric and jewelry on you tonight.
With help from a stepping stool, you managed to sit side-saddle on the large bird, without face planting, realizing that the beautiful royal bird had little stars in its feather, more than likely seaweed glitter. Your favorite ray of sunshine would absolutely love this.
From here you were kind of on your own, you heard the ten minute mark, and suddenly you felt your mount moving you down the long pathway to where you’d be the center of attention of anything under Lucian rule.
You tried to keep your back straight, head up and forward, and then the flashes started. You were familiar with one flash every so often, but this was hundreds and they wouldn’t see the beauty of you mid sneeze like your typical viewers. Only for the familiar words of your brightest flame echo, that you can’t control what people think of you, you can only be the best you are.
You squared your shoulders, and even dared to raise your hand in a wave. Only to see the King and Prince coming further into view, your mount stopped just in time for Prompto to take the reins, keeping your mount steady, as Gladiolus’s hands found their way to your hips helping you off easily.
Once your heeled feet touched the ground, you found Ignis’s arm offered, just like in practice you took it, already knowing that Prompto and Gladiolus were following the both of you up to where the King and Prince were waiting for you.
As you approached the altar, you couldn’t help but smile. You weren’t sitting on a couch, watching from afar as the world echoed in a New Year, right now you were surrounded by four of the worlds most wonderful people.
You felt Ignis release your arm, along with with Gladiolus and Prompto move to stand beside you, shoulder to shoulder. All of you moving into a bow before the King and Prince, only to rise as Noctis held his hand out to you.
You took his hand as he moved you to face the large crowd, gather below of flashing lights and cheers. You took a deep breath, as you held out your hands, it was a New Year and you had best to go all out. After also you were picked to be the Deam Anni, because you had such a strong source of magic.
5!
Magic begun to swell around you.
4!
You heard slight gasp from around you!
3!
Maybe you should have told them before, that you’re rather good at magic.
2!
You rose your hands up to the sky, lighting it up with a bright blast of magic, only for it to rain down around everyone in glitter.
1!
You felt a huge smile on your lips as she lowered your hands.
“Y/N?”
You giggled, looking to those that made you so happy.
Shy somewhat quiet S.O gets roped into playing a fighting game with the bros. But what the bros don't know is she's a famous live streamer of the game who has never shown her face on camera. She talks on her streams but that's it. During the streams she is crazy good to the point of people saying if she went to competitions she'd sweep it no trouble but she doesn't want people hounding her for it. She completely DESTROYS the four in the game. Reactions?
Lol, I kill at Super Smash Brothers, nothing like in a gaming league, but I often pick the character by how pretty they are, and just wreck my friends. So this is fun. Also kinda OT4 plus one this, cause it seemed cuter that way.

“I’m fine.”
The same reply every time the game station was brought out and your sweethearts got into a little tournament. No matter how much Noctis nor Prompto tried to assure you they’d take it easy on you, you would politely decline. Even when Ignis went to prepare food, the controller was left empty.
“Come on, Babe you must be getting bored sitting there every time,” Gladiolus stated, only to hiss as Prompto got the Smash Ball.
“I like watching you all play.” You giggled, as Noctis let out a curse at being hit by the smash. “Most of the day when you guys are at work, all I do is let’s plays.”
“Well…” Noctis huffed as the screen showed Ignis character as the winner. “You can’t say no tonight. I bought you, your own controller.”
You looked down to the sleek black controller slightly smaller than an average to fit your hands. It was absolutely stunning and was the latest, hottest game controller on the market right now. Of course, Noctis could afford it.
“I don’t want to get chip dust all over it.” You replied, motioning towards the chips you had been snacking on.
“I don’t believe that will be a problem, Love.” Ignis replied, motioning toward Noctis and Prompto, “If I didn’t disinfect their controllers, a new civilization would be growing on them.”
You giggled softly, before sighing softly, “All right, one round.”
“Score!” Prompto cheered, leaning over to press a kiss to your cheek. He was so affectionate. “You can pick the stage too.”
You took the controller from Noctis, it was so much lighter, and you hadn’t even noticed that a little heart in gold was on it. Noctis had specialized everyone’s controller, each were black, but Prompto’s had a gold Chocobo, Ignis has cute little glasses, Gladiolus’s had a shield, and his own had a cute little crown. You kind of felt guilty that he had to go this far to get you to play.
It was a standard stock match, everyone got three lives, and everyone seemed to stick to their favorite characters. You slowly got used to the feel of your new controller after losing one life to Noctis, after all, he was the reigning champion of the house.
“Come on Y/N, do better.” Noctis playfully called.
“You’re going to trash talk me? After all, I’ve done for you?” You giggled, “Guess someone else will be picking up releases.”
Noctis chuckled, as he tossed Prompto off the stage, leaving only you and the Prince on screen and Noctis still had all his stocks left.
“So when I win, what do I get?” Noctis inquired.
“When you win, Noct, hasn’t Gladdy always told you to make sure your enemies down for good before boosting?” You smirked.
“You got one life left. Pretty sure this is in the bag.” He replied, as his character grabbed your own, and tossed you off the stage, ending the match. “Cake baby.”
You really loved your sweet Prince but sometimes he needed to be humbled, “Noctis, let’s play again. I feel I took it too easy on you.”
“Too easy.” Prompto squawked. “You sure about that?”
“If you want to play again, all you have to do is ask,” Noctis replied, setting up a new match.
“No, no between you and me. You put a lot of hours in this game and I wasn’t playing fair.” You stated.
“You sure you’re not getting in over your head?” Gladiolus chuckled playfully.
“It’s fine.” You replied as Noctis picked the stage. “Ready whenever you are Sweetie.”
If you blinked you would have missed it, one moment the game was declaring start and the next GAME OVER! with you as the victor, and a room staring in confusion.
“Y/N, love how did you accomplish that?” Ignis inquired as you leaned over pressing a kiss to Noctis’s cheek.
“I’ve played this game quite a bit. I think I logged 300 personally and I think about 100 streamwise.” You replied. “Everyone asks me to constantly go to tournaments but…” You shrugged leaving the sentence unfinished. “You want a rematch?”
“Wait, you stream?” Prompto asked as you nodded. “When?”
“Mostly when you boys have to stay at the Citadel, it gets kinda lonely, and I have access to all the latest games.” You replied.
“Show me!” Noctis barked.
You couldn’t help but let out a bark of laughter as you changed the tv to bring up a web browser, typing in StarryFantasy as your username before pulling up a video.
“I did this one last week when you all were stuck at the Citadel.”
“Y/N you have over 1 million subscribers?”
“Yeah, I hit 1 about a month ago we’re getting super close to 15.” You replied, over you in game voice of where you were taking online matches against fans.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” Ignis inquired, watching how your skills were actually extremely dominating.
You shrugged, “Figured it wasn’t a big deal.” You let out a squeal as you felt Noctis take both your cheeks in his hands turning you toward him. “Mock?”
Noctis stared deep in your eyes, “This is the hottest thing I have ever seen!”
You rolled your eyes playfully, “Guess I don’t need to buy any more lingerie if that’s the case.”
“Hey, we didn’t all agree on that,” Gladiolus called, as Noctis pulled you forward pressing a kiss to your lips.
“Do you ever do video streams or a face reveal?” Prompto inquired.
You finally managed to pull away from Noctis with a soft pant, “No, figured it wouldn’t be a good idea to have the Prince’s girlfriend going viral that way.”
“Let’s pray none of us go viral for any reason,” Ignis replied.
You shook your head before looking to your control on the coffee table next to your boyfriends,
Hi! I just wanted to tell you how much I love your work! I always wondered what the boys, Nyx, and Ravus would react to finding their s/o who has just been blinded after a run in with Ardyn. Thank you and have a good day!
I have been wanting to do one like this for a while now. I do hope you don’t mind that I add one more option to this because the idea populated so you get everyone plus a bonus.
No! No!
He didn’t want to say he was giving up hope, but you had been gone for about 24 hours at this point. He searched everywhere, trying to find you, trying to get you back. Only to get a “mysterious” tip that you were held at an abandoned Imperial base camp. He shouldn’t have let you go alone and now…
“Y/N?”
A cough!
“Y/N!” He ran, quickly to the soft groaned, finding you gagged and bound to a gate, a blindfold over your eyes. “No, no, Y/N are you okay?”
As he pulled you down, he checked you over, you were bruised and you had cuts all over but nothing seemed too terrible until he removed the blindfold, your eyes, milky white.
You were blinded.

Noctis
The others had gone out to get supplies for the evening, leaving both Noctis and yourself alone.
The Prince blamed himself, this shouldn’t have happened, all day he kept forgetting. Only to have Gladiolus bark at him to slow down, or Prompto to rush to your aid should you stumbled. Ignis had even shot him a few glares from time to time with a passive aggressive call.
“Y/N?” He called, he saw you flinch. Still so frightened of a world that you just days ago could see.
You smiled turning to where you believed him to be, your eyes closed not that they were of any use anymore, “Yeah Sweetie?”
Noctis fumbled over his words, you had explained the horror that Ardyn forced your through, and the pain that it had costed your eyesight forever. “I…I’m sor…”
You shook your head, “No, it’s fine.”
“It’s not fine!” He barked, immediately regretting it when you flinched. “It shouldn’t have happened, I should have been there to protect you.”
The two of you sat in silence as it finally came to the open, those words that were hushed over the last few days. When you’d flinch when one of the others touched you, or the soft huffs of frustrations that he would hear when you were alone. The small pep talks you gave yourself to try and deem yourself worthy.
Sniff.
Noctis turned, only to find silent tears coming from those opened milky white eyes, “Y/N, what?”
You gave a soft smile, turning towards where you believed his voice to be coming from, “I guess this is the gods saying that we’re not meant to be together.”
Noctis stood, moving to kneel before you, taking both of your hands within his own as they rested on your lap, “Don’t say that please.”
You let out a sob, “What kind of King needs a blind useless Queen? I always knew I didn’t deserve to be with you.”
Noctis growled softly, “You’re the only person I want by my side Y/N. I love you so much, and nothing will ever stop me from loving you.”
Noctis noticed your hands twitch, as you rose them from your lap. He immediately knew what you were trying to do, something you often stated kept you grounded, so he did it for you. He took your hands resting them on his cheeks and staring up into your eyes.
“I won’t ever get to see your eyes again.” You cried weakly, only to gasp as Noctis’s cheeks left your hands. “Noct,”
“Here, stand up for me.” He called taking your hand, pulling you from your chair. His other hand messing with his phone, finding the right program, he placed the phone in your chair as it begun to play a familiar song.
“Come here.” Noctis smiled, as he pulled you close, resting your head against his shoulder, as he begun to sway softly. “Remember the first time we danced, I never wanted the song to end, because I was worried that I was dreaming and you’d disappear.”
“But you hate dancing.” You muttered weakly.
“But I love you more.” He replied, “We picked this as our wedding song, and no matter what, I want you to be the only person in the world that I stand with when it plays. On our wedding day, on our 10-year anniversary, on our 50th hell, if I don’t mess it up for eternity.”
Noctis heard you let out a soft choked laugh, but he also felt your hand grip his own tighter, and you step closer allowing for him to move you around you makeshift dancefloor in the campsite.
“Thank you.”
“I will do everything I can to get you back your eyesight, damn this prophecy and damn Ardyn.”
You allowed for Noctis to move you into this little dance, holding you tightly, well after the song repeated and even after the phone died.
~~~~~
Prompto
“…and it’s like…well remember that time we tried using that spray dye in my hair?” Prompto asked as you nodded weakly. “It looked like that.”
“But it was so…red…”
“Yeah, like aggressively,” Prompto replied, only to notice that smile grace your face that had been missing for a few days. “And Noct bought this shirt like it’s so ugly, it’s like a fish with laser eyes and this neon green in all this black.”
You giggled softly, “Noct’s attire is either all black or the worse thing ever.”
Prompto smiled, his hand holding tight to your own. Since losing your sight he took it upon himself to always be at your side, holding your hand, catching you should you stumble. He watched as you grew stronger, but he wanted you to know that he would be there for you no matter what.
“Thank you, Prompto.” You smiled, your other arm wrapping around his own.
Prompto smiled as he pressed a kiss to your cheek, “I love you, Y/N, you don’t ever have to thank me.”
Gladiolus
“Here, I got it, Babe,” Gladiolus called.
You reached for your jacket, only to feel the man’s hand on it instead, and before you realized what you were doing you were smacking the fabric from his hand.
“It’s cool, I got it,” Gladiolus replied bending down.
“Stop it!”You barked angrily at yourself. “Gladiolus just stop it, please.”
Gladiolus looked up to find tears in your eyes, there was many an evening when he would wake to hear you tossing and turning and the soft cries coming from you trying to not wake the others. “Babe.”
“Please stop, I feel…”
“Babe.” He stood gathering you into his arms, as you clung tightly to him, crying hard, his hand stroking your head. “It’s cool, let it out. You’ve been holding it in for so long.”
“I feel so useless.” You cried, clinging tightly to him all of your worries suddenly spilling out. “I can’t do anything.”
“Babe you’re not useless.” He replied, he wasn’t really good at this type of thing, he was used to telling someone to toughen up, but this wasn’t something so simple as swinging a sword, you have lost something so important.
“I’m so useless now, please don’t leave me.”
Gladiolus stopped stroking your head, only to pull you closer, “Babe, is that what you were worried about? I would never. You have put up with so much of my shit, what kind of asshole would I be?”
You held onto him tighter, “Please, please.”
“I’m not going anywhere Babe, and you aren’t either.” He replied, “We’ll get through this, like everything else we’ve had to face. We’re fighters.”
~~~~~
Ignis
Ignis heard the clang, and your soft hiss as he turned from breakfast being prepared. You still kept to your schedule, but he saw the difficulties you had, he didn’t wish to be overbearing, only assist when you needed it. An arm offered here or there, so as you got used to moving with and without your cane.
He found himself pushing your plate closer or placing things within reach. You had become so drawn in on yourself, and he honestly hated it, but at the same time, he couldn’t imagine this happening to himself.
“Are you all right, Love?” He called, having already noticed that you had knocked over his empty can of Ebony.
“Yes…yes I am.” You sighed softly hands looking for the empty can that had rolled off the table.
Normally you’d be at his side assisting with food, but worried that you would hurt yourself or ruin the food you stayed rooted at the table.
“Ignis.”
Ignis flinched softly, you hardly ever called him by his name unless you were upset at him, or his life was in danger, “Yes, Love.”
“I’m sorry.”
Ignis dried his hands, “Whatever for?”
You sighed, weakly looking down to your lap, “I am just a burden, it would be wise to have me stay at the next town. I’ll just slow you down.”
Ignis quickly moved over, only to stop himself from touching you out of fear of scaring you, “Love, what are you…”
“I’m a burden, I know that I am. It’s fine I accept it”
Ignis couldn’t stop himself, only to find that you had flinched when he grabbed your hand, “Love, that is far from the truth.”
You slowly reached out your fingertips grazing across his hand, before settling on it, “You don’t need to lie to me, Ignis.”
Ignis knelt before you, resting his head on your lap, something he had never done before, “My Love, you are so strong and brave, none of us think you’re a burden least of all myself. Should you need my help, you know that I will be there.”
“I can hardly feed myself and you already have to care for Noctis and the others.”
“If I could take this and place it on myself I would. I would trade places with you, I would give you my sight, we will get through this. You are so much stronger than you believe yourself to be.”
~~~~~
Nyx
“Nyx.”
He hated that sound of fear in your voice, normally he could hear it if there was a spider in the house. Now it was almost as if he heard it every day. That cry of the uncertainty of fear as you tried to moved through you everyday life, now without your sight.
“I got ya.” He called moving over to you, as he assists you from the bathroom to the bedroom in the unfamiliar motel room. “You hungry? I think we got enough to order room service.”
“All right.” You smiled weakly, hand held out reaching for the bed so you could sit down. Only to feel Nyx move you to sit, he had been the one that went out on the hunt all alone to make sure you both had somewhere to stay for the night until you could get back home. “Nyxxy.”
“Yeah, Babydoll?”
“I…do you think this is maybe just a spell? Maybe the Oracle can cure it or…”
Nyx placed down the room service menu, “Yeah, I’m sure. When we get back I can ask the Prince, he’s friends with her.” He noticed the worried smile, as you begun to fidget with your fingers. “Something wrong?”
Your head popped up as you turned to him then away, “No, no it’s fine.”
Nyx moved over, turning you back to him face him, “It’s not, what’s up?”
You sighed, “I’m scared Nyx, my entire life, my crowning moment was being a Guard and that was stripped away so easily. I’ll be lucky if they King keeps me around to scrub floors.”
Nyx wrapped an arm around you, pulling you close, “Hey don’t go sounding all Furia on me. The King realizes that your powerful, no one is as good as ice spells as you, I’m sure that these type of things happen and there’s training for it. You pick up things so easily.”
“You think?”
“I know.” He replied, “No matter what we’re in this together.”
~~~~~
Ravus
“Oh.” The maid called, standing outside your room, as she bowed to Ravus approaching. “Her Ladyship seems to still be under the weather, but she did go for a walk in the garden, unescorted. Well without her walking stick.”
Ravus gave a nod, pleased with the message today, better than yesterday, but he did not like that you were unescorted. “Were you with her?”
“Yes, sir. She wished to be alone, and when I explained…”
Ravus stopped listening to her a while ago, as he opened your sitting room, only to feel his heart leap in his chest, as he saw you sitting in the window seat. He quickly closed the door, shutting out the maid as he rushed over to you.
“Y/N!”
You jumped when he slammed the door, and then again when he called you, “Rae…Ravus?” You let out another gasp as you felt the cold left hand of your beloved’s on your arm, softly but firmly pulling you from the warm sun of your window seat. “What…what’s wrong?”
“Are you all right?”
“Yes?” You questioned, as he moved you over to the couch in the room. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
Ravus huffed, as he moved back over to the window, shutting the shutters and closing the blinds. Turning to find that you were feeling your way over to the tea cart. “Y/N.”
You jumped again, quickly sitting back, “Yes?”
“Please.”
“Ravus.” You called, hearing him move over to you, then the sound of liquid being moved. “Ravus what are you doing?”
“Allow me.”
“Ravus please, if you don’t allow me to learn, I’ll be useless.” You heard the cup be placed down, “Please, allow me to do just this.”
Ravus sighed, as he sat beside you, pulling your hand to his own, “My Treasure, I’m sorry.”
“I know you’re worried about me, it’s only fair. But seeing that even Lunafreya can’t heal me, I have to become used to this.” You replied. “I cannot always rely on you.”
Ravus held you tighter, “That’s where you’re wrong.”

OT4 + 1
Mwah!
“Pomkin.”
Chu!
“Noct.”
Peck!
“Iggy.”
Smooch!
“Gladdy OMG!”
The got the tent to burst out in giggles. At first you were able to fool the others that your sight was fine despite your now milky white eyes, being a mage you could see the aura of other living creatures, but going into a stasis after a haunt and using said powers for almost 72 hours, quickly followed by then slamming your head into the Regalia’s door, it was outed quickly.
You got lectured by Ignis and Gladiolus something horrible while trying to console a panicking Prompto and a worried Noctis. You didn’t mean to make your boyfriends worry, but at the same time, you were fine until you weren’t.
You were only asked to use your sight and powers at this point to be of assistance in battle, or should you feel the need to avoid causing problems when out and about. But having eight strong arms to lean on when needed was greatly appreciated, so you didn’t have to rely on your cane all the time.
“Are you able to tell which one of us is which without using your magic?” Prompto asked nuzzling up to you, which was what got this entire game started in the first place.
“Yeah, aside from your voices. I can tell by the way you walk, your hands, kisses and on really bad days smells.” You explained as you reached out only to feel a hand within your own. “Like this is Iggy.”
“And how are you so certain?” Gladiolus asked.
You turned Ignis’s hand over within your own, “Because Iggy’s hands are the softest, Prompto has a burn on his right pinky finger from where I hit him in our first sync battle, Noctis has magic burns and you Gladdy have calluses in places I didn’t even know callouses could be.”
“So you’ve been studying us, prior to losing your sight?”
“Mmhm gotta know if my boys don’t feel good.” You giggled, before turning white eyes up to the tent ceiling. “Even when I use my powers to see, I don’t really see you it’s more like a figure, with very dull features. It’s also bad for non-living creatures, rocks, and trees. I’ll miss seeing you all, as you are and not these colorful spots among black.”
You gasped feeling your hand be taken, only to feel something warm underneath your palm, as you noticed it was cheek, “Gladdy?”
“Anytime you need a reminder just ask.”
“You don’t even have to ask,” Noctis replied, as you felt him nuzzle into your shoulder.
You felt tears spring to your sightless eyes, as you smile weakly, “Thank you.”
Thanks to the blessing of @mintfoxmimi I was able to create a story of her Octo-bros. They’re so cute and if you have seen the beauty that is her artwork, please check it out!

Early morning, super early morning. You never understood why you needed to be here for early mornings. At 6 in the morning, no one was up and only you and a handful of people were in the building at this awful hour. Still, you couldn’t really be too upset, at 6 in the morning, with the building empty, and only the night shift lights on the building looked absolutely lovely. The huge glass windows of blue giving you the idea of what it was like to be underwater with all these wonderful creatures.
Working early morning shift for data entry at Insomnia’s Aquarium did have its perks. The large Aquarium was named after the fabled city that was supposed to have been lost to the ocean’s depths thousands of years ago.
“Morning, Sweetie.” You called, moving to your desk stuffed away in the back area of the “storage” facility of the back offices holding bay. Your desk the only one there, as it was the smallest one, but you were surrounded by moveable tanks of wonderful creatures in a tropic-like environment.
The area was more of a holding area for some of the creatures that were brought in from the beach. Fish, crabs, smaller injured mammals, all of them so lovely. But the one that drew you the most was the little one that was placed directly before your desk. He was bought in about 3 weeks ago.
At first, you believed him to possibly be an octopus, at least that was what was documented in your data, but as the others inspected him. It was strange, from the waist below, beautiful dark blue tentacles that look like the night sky, that same color traveling up his back and littered his arms, up to his neck. But everything from the waist up looked like a human, aside from the pointed ears. Huge beautiful blue eyes, when awake would look to you doing your work. All of this packaged into something the size of your hand if not a little bigger.
“You’re so beautiful.” You’d find yourself cooing to him, while he watched you, or while he slept. Mostly while he slept, he loved to sleep.
You looked up from your cell phone on your lunch break, chowing away at some of the sushi from the cafeteria. Was it wrong to eat sushi in an Aquarium, was this blasphemy? Only to smile at the little hands pressed against the side of the glass and large adorable eyes.
“Morning, well afternoon Sweetie.” You smiled, as he yawned, turning a smile to you. “Are you hungry? They had those little-fried fish you like, so I snagged you some.”
You watched as he moved himself up through his tank, pushing the lid open. He was smart as an octopus, that was for sure.
“Hold on, hold on, let me get the bowl.” You giggled, reaching into one of your side drawers, pulling out a small little bowl with a cute cat print you bought from home. Leaning over your desk to his tank as you scooped in the little guy and some water to place on your desk.
Making certain he was comfy, you removed your headphones, and turned your phone to the small octopus/man so he could watch the show you were watching. Handing him a piece of grilled fish, watching as sharp little teeth crunched into bone and fish before reaching out small hands for another piece.
You had to admit you loved your little lunch dates.
“Y/N, you still back here?”
You looked up from your computer, only to hear the call of one of the night guards, Loqi. “What time is it?”
“Burning the midnight oil?” He chuckled.
“I didn’t realize it was that late.” You yawned softly.
Loqi huffed, before noticing the company at your desk, “Is it all right you got that thing out?”
You turned to your little friend, who was rather engrossed in the movie on your phone, “He gets pouty when I put him in his tank. I don’t think he can hear the sound, and I don’t think he can read the subtitles.” You explained. “Also don’t call him a thing.”
Loqi let out another huff, flipping his hair, “Whatever, put the little guy away, I’ll walk you out.”
You smiled softly, standing to stretch, “All right, Sweetie, let go.” You held out your hand, at first the feeling of his little tentacles on your hand made you squirm, but now it was actually like holding a handful of noodles. Not that, that was normal either. “I’ll be in tomorrow.”
Large blue eyes looked up to you, before small arms wrapped around two of your fingers, his tentacles following their lead, wrapping around your hand and wrist in a hug, as you moved him to his tank before your desk. Placing your hand in the water, before lowering him to the little clamshell he would circle up in.
“Night Sweetie, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
*
“You’ve got a friend!” You gasped.
Typically when you came in, you had a couple of hours to yourself before your company woke up, but today you were greeted by not only a little navy Octomer, but a little blonde one.
“Hi, little one.” You cooed, sitting down to look at the two. The other one was a little smaller their your ‘Sweetie’, his tentacles more of sandy blonde, much like his hair, with adorable violet eyes. “Oh you have little freckles too, aren’t you a cutie.” You giggled, as he hid behind the navy one. “Are you shy, it’s fine, I won’t hurt you,” You smiled, noticing his large eyes looking to the small shark in the tank beside them.
You stood, moving over to the tank, pushing it out the way and replacing it with a tank of sea stars, “And I promise to not let anything else hurt you.”
“Y/N?”
You turned, who was here this early in the morning, normally you’d get at least four hours before someone decided to come into your corner of the holding tank, only to find your manager. “Hey, Aranea.”
The woman spared a glance to the two little ones in the tank before you, “I see you met the other one. They found him on the beach yesterday.”
“Really, aren’t they cute?” You smiled, looking to the two staring at the white-haired woman.
Aranea curled her lip slightly, you could tell she was trying to hide her disgust, “If you say so. Hey, the big boss said that you never RSVP to the party two weeks from Friday. It’s all hands on deck.”
You groaned falling into your chair, never really one for partying much less with work associates, “Do I have to?”
“I mean if you want to deal with the council.” She replied as you slumped against your desk.
“Ugh, what’s the dress code?”
“Black tie.”
You gave another groan, only to feel your supervisor pet your head in sympathy, she hated these things possibly more than you, and then the sounds of her heels click away as she returned to where the people were. “I hate these things.” You moaned softly, your chin resting on your folded arms, as you looked to the tank before you, only to find the new blonde one alone.
“Wha?” You gasped, eyes darting around the tank. “Sweetie? Where’d you go?”
You nearly jumped from your skin as you felt something wet against your arm, only to find your little navy one standing there. His sparkling large blue eyes almost seeming to draw you in like a whirlpool. When it dawned on you, you didn’t know if he could live out of the water!
“Sweetie! Oh no!” You gasped, scooping him up, before putting him back into his tank. “Are you okay?” You asked as he wrapped around your hand, refusing to release, normally by now he’d have let go to climb into his bed of a shell. No matter how much you shook him, he refused to release your hand, and you were worried the suckers might start to bruise considering the grip he had on you.
“All right, all right let me get the bowl.” You called, as you reached into your drawer pulling out the bowl. “We have to keep you moist. I don’t know if you can live outside of water for very long.”
Scooping up some water, you placed the little navy one in the bowl, only to follow his eyes to his friend still within the tank. “Do you want to come out too, Sunshine?” You asked, your wet hand going back into the tank. You didn’t chase after him, preferring for him to come to you.
You laughed, as those sand colored tentacles reached out for you, slowly inspecting you before one by one they wrapped around your hand allowing for you to pull him out. Placing him within the bowl beside the navy one, making a mental note to get a bigger bowl and to remember to bring in a towel.
*
“Whoever made office parties mandatory should be shot into space.” Aranea huffed.
You giggled softly, wearing your own dress of navy blue, it reminded you very much of your little friend downstairs, stuck in the tank. You made certain that you would stop by and provide him and the little sunshine with some of the grilled kippers at the buffet before you left.
All eyes turned to the stage within the room, as one Ardyn Inzuna, owner of the Aquarium took the stage. It wasn’t often that anyone saw him, but you could recognize the man right away.
“Welcome everyone.” He called in that same flamboyant manner, at every mandatory party, as all eyes within the room turned to him. “I know how hard it is that we are all to show up to work during our time off…”
You tuned out, he would draw on for the next 15 to 20 minutes, and most of the info never mattered to you. You swirl your cup of champagne, eyes darting to the large octopus in the tank beside you, swimming alongside the fish. Those lucky ones, not having to worry about their “Owner” droning on and on about numbers and new tanks, and…
“What?” You turned.
Ardyn chuckled, “Yes, we’ve come across. Not one but two scientific anomalies, half man, half octopus.”
Your eyes widen as your heels clicked against the floor as you stepped forward to better view the large screen behind Ardyn, showing the two little ones in the tanks just below your feet.
“To better understand them, we have the honor of some of the worlds best marine biologist and animal studies,” Ardyn replied, his golden eyes twinkling in delight. “On the morrow, we will be hosting a Dissect party in a private event, that will be broadcast to the public at a later date. We are excited to be a part...”
Your little ‘Sweetie’ and ‘Sunshine’ flashed before your eyes, held out and pinned down on a metal table, while doctors cut into them. You felt sick! Only coming to as you heard a crash and your feet become damp it seemed that you had dropped your glass.
“You all right?”
You hardly heard Araena as you turned rushing to the bathroom. Locking the single stall behind you, as you held onto the sink to stable yourself. Your legs felt weak and you wanted to throw up. They were...they were going to kill them.
You knew that he was different, strange something new. But they were going to kill him! Did they not see that they were extremely smart creatures! Did they not know that Sweetie liked his fish without any veggies. Did they not know that he liked to curl up with all his tentacles around him like a blanket? Or that Sunshine had the cutest smile! Or that he really liked the camera function of your phone. Or helping the best he could, even if it made things wet?
Did they not know that they both deserved to live!
You didn’t even think it over twice. Looking at yourself in the eye through the mirror, you knew this plan would get you fired, but you refused let those monsters to hurt them. Taking five minutes to think up a plan, as you couldn’t really escape with a tank, you calmed yourself, took a deep breath and moved back out to the party.
It was easy getting through the crowd, as you needed to get to the employee break room. Shuffling through, you begun tearing apart cabinets, digging through for tupperware that you were certain came with the building. Finding a jar with a lid, one that would hopefully be big enough to fit them both, you turned going back out to get through the party and get your boys.
Only to be halted at the man that delivered your bad news as you quickly put the jar behind you.
“Oh hello, Y/N is that correct?”
It always did put you off that he could recall your name, “Yes, sir.”
“Are you feeling alright? Highwind mentioned that you came over ill.”
You nodded, “Yes, sir. Just got a little overheated, all the excitement.” You smiled, trying to inch beyond him. “Was there anything you needed help with?”
Ardyn smiled, stepping rather close, “No. Was there anything I can assist you with?”
You blinked suddenly feeling absolutely terrified, “No..no thank you, sir.”
The smile that appeared mostly teeth moved slightly closer, before he backed up, holding out a hand, “Well keep up the good work, since you’ve been bought on board things have been a lot easier.”
You reached out taking the hand, it was so cold, “Thank you, sir.”
With that, you quickly ran back out to the crowd of co-workers. You may have looked strange holding a jar, but at least you were away from him. He always reminded you of a shark, but with the sharp teeth sharks actually swimming around you, you felt a lot less threatened than being in that man’s company.
You floated around the floor for a bit, the music a mixture of jazz and polka. Strange but then again so was Ardyn, making certain that no one saw you, you ducked out into the hall, and quickly made your way to your “office”.
“Sweetie! Sunshine!” You called, tapping on the glass with your nail. You knew they hated that, but your little navy one was such a hard sleeper. “Sweetie! Sunshine! Please wake up.”
You unscrewed the lid of the jar when you saw little blonde tentacles climb out the clam a piece of seaweed held in his hand. Was he using it as a blanket? How adorable.
“Focus.” You growled at yourself, as you put the jar within the water. “Sunshine, please get Sweetie, we have to go.” You called, as you begun to dig through your desk, finding anything you worried about leaving when you got sent to jail for theft. Only the bowl that they sat in to watch t.v. on your phone.
Shoving the bowl into your purse, you turned back, finding the both of them within the jar. Standing on tippy-toe you grabbed the jar, before putting the lid on.
“This will be rough.” You called wrapping the jar within your sweater and shoving it in your purse.
“Don’t be suspicious, don’t be suspicious.” You whispered softly to yourself as you moved through the halls. You’d have to go out the main entrance, as all the others were locked for the night. Cursing to yourself, as you saw a guard on duty, only to smile as you noticed that it was Loqi.
“Hey, Y/N. You ducking out early?”
“Yeah, gotta get up bright and early tomorrow.” You smiled, turning your body to hide your bag.
“All right, let me just check your purse.” He called, holding out his hand.
You must have taken a little too long, as he rose an eyebrow but you still held it out. Waiting nervously, as you watched him take out your sweater and your little bowl. Wide eyes watching as he unraveled your sweater from the jar. He would see them! He would see them, and you’d be reported. You glanced around trying to find something to hit him over the head with. If you were already going to jail might as well put up a fight!
Shame you really liked Loqi.
“You’re on one of those juice cleanse?” He asked, holding up the jar full of water.
You blinked, it was empty, “Uh, I brought some soup. It’s safer in the jar than tupperware you know.”
Loqi nodded, wrapping it back up for you tightly, “Be safe getting home.” He called, handing you your purse. “Have a good weekend.”
“Thanks, see you later.” You smiled, putting your purse on your shoulder, walking out the door. Once the automatic doors closed behind you, you broke into a sprint around the corner, opening your purse as you pulled out the jar. “Sweetie? Sunshine?”
Slowly they came into view, almost as if a screen was being pulled over your eyes. You smiled, pulling the jar to your chest, as you giggled, tears in your eyes, “I was worried, you guys. Come on. Tomorrow I’ll take you to the beach so you can be released.”
You stood, moving to make your way home the jar held tight to your chest.
The beach by work was too close, and you were worried that the might come back to shore to look for you. You could release them by your apartment, and maybe they might come to visit you every so often. If you didn’t have to skip town.
You more than likely would have to skip town.
Once home, you filled up your bathtub, unscrewed the jar, and allowed them to fall into the tub. Laughing as they finally had enough room to rush around, seeming to be playing a game of tag, only for your ‘Sweetie’ to pop his head out the water, holding up his hands to you.
“Tomorrow you’ll be able to do this back in the ocean Sweetie.” You cooed, holding out your hand as he quickly wrapped around it holding it tightly nuzzling into your palm. “You too Sunshine.” You giggled holding out your other hand, as he wrapped around it both of them giving you a hug.
You must have dozed off sitting on the bathroom floor in your evening dress, leaning over the tub, watching them play. Since that was where you woke up, only to find a towel under your head and your robe placed over your shoulders like a blanket.
Yawning you stood up, only to find the two of them missing, and little water puddles leading out the room. You quickly stumbled to the door, on fast asleep legs, looking around finding the water trail headed towards your living room. Moving around the corner only to stop, as you noticed four very tall figures in your living room, silhouetted by the light from outside.
You moved to go back into your room, only realize you left your phone in your purse on the couch! The couch these four tall men were talking before. Besides you couldn’t call the police, you just stole from your job!
“What do we have here?” A deep voice called.
You gasped, feeling something wrap around your ankle, before being drawn into the living room, holding you upside down in the middle of the circle of men. You did the only thing you could think of, you screamed.
“Gladio, cut it out, you’re scaring her!”
You were dropped, rather hard, but you scrambled to your feet, grabbing the nearest item, a three wick candle. “Who are you! Get out of my house! I’ll scream!”
“Please….”
You held true to your word as something black moved towards you, letting out a scream, only to have it stopped, by something over your mouth as you dropped the candle. You glanced down with wide eyes, only to find a large tentacle there, another muffled scream escaping you.
“Y/N please.”
You turned from the black tentacle to the being coming closer, he looked familiar, plus he knew your name. Glancing back to the black tentacle, you noticed that it was actually a picture of the night sky, navy blue, with little specks of white. Following the tentacle, up the body, you were greeted to the top half of a young man. A very handsome young man, that looked like, “Mm-tee?”
A smile grew on his face as he released your mouth, “Are you okay? Gladio can be a jerk.”
You blinked in confusion, before reaching over turning on the lamp beside you only to gasp. The two small little ones you had grown to care for were suddenly huge, and much much more handsome. You looked at the other two in your apartment you had never seen before.
One a handsome man, tall and lean, standing on beautiful violet tentacles that appeared to have a leopard pattern to them, his shoulders covered by a purple cloak that held seashells. That same violet as his tentacles moved up his arms and back, to form a pattern around his eyes like glasses. Beautiful green eyes piercing into you.
While the other was much big, full of muscle and just as handsome. His tentacles a dark grey, with a lovely design of what look to be scales, maybe feathers. A dark pattern the same kind on his arms, and bare chest. His dark sunset eyes, glaring heavily at you.
“Sweetie?” You called, holding out your hand, finding a hand within it, larger and sharper but still one of comfort. Reaching up to stroke the side of his cheek with the back of your knuckles, as you always did when he was smaller getting the same fluttering eyes as if he were to fall asleep. “Sweetie, you’re so much bigger, and you can speak.” You giggled.
You figured if you were dreaming you might as well go along with it. Only to turn as you felt something slide around your arm, finding a golden freckled tentacle there, reaching for your hand that was holding Sweetie’s.
“Sunshine.” You cooed, release your Sweetie, to stroke his face too, smiling at that huge smile you got as he nuzzled into you, only to turn to the larger men? Octopi? in your living room. “Are these your friends?”
The larger one moved forward, towering over you as you shrink back, “Anything we can help you with human?”
“Gladio lay off.” ‘Sweetie’ huffed, moving before you.
“Noctis, she was holding you, prisoner.” The purple one stated.
“Noctis?” You called, as Sweetie turned to you with a smile. “Is that your name?”
“Yeah.”
You smiled, “That so beautiful.”
The blonde held your hand tighter, “I’m Prompto, but you can keep calling me Sunshine if you want.”
“Oh but Prompto is a pretty name too.” You cooed, only to gasp as the purple one moved forward, he was so silent.
“Are you aware of who it is that you hold prisoner, human?”
“Prisoner?” You squeaked out. “No, I was going to take them to the beach tomorrow. I promise.”
“Noctis has been missing for weeks, and we find him here, were you the one that kidnapped him?”
“Knock it off Ignis.” Noctis huffed, his tentacles wrapping around you, it felt some much different than when he was small and it was on your hand. This time you felt the wet cold sensation all over your body. “She’s been the one taking care of us.”
“Taking care of you?” Those green eyes shifted back to you. “Is this true human?”
You swallowed too afraid to speak.
“Y/N.”
“What was that?” Ignis called, as you both looked to Noctis.
“Her name is Y/N.”
Ignis nodded, “Pardon me, Y/N, is that correct?”
You nodded back, “I...I didn’t once think about taking them out of their tank at work, I thought they were safe but after tonight I had to do something.” You muttered.
“What happened?” Prompto asked sliding his hand in your own again.
You shook your head, tears in your eyes, “They, they were going to dissect you, I couldn’t let that happen. I don’t care what happened to me. I knew I had to do something to save you.”
Four pairs of eyes glanced around the room, taking in this sudden news.
“What’s going to happen to you?” Noctis asked, his tentacles wrapped tighter around you.
“I’ll more than likely go to jail. I did steal you.” You giggled, drying your eyes.
“Come with us.”
“What?” You called, only to gasp as you heard a loud pounding on your door.
“Open up.”
“No!” You gasped, stepping from Noctis’s embrace, glancing to the door then the men, “You have to go, I don’t know how you got in here, use that to get out. I’ll stall them.” You felt something snag your arm, pulling you back, only to find a navy and blonde tentacle on your arms.
“Not without you,” Noctis replied.
“Noctis, Prompto you have to go.” You called, pulling their tentacles from your arms, but each time it was replaced with another, frustrated tears in your eyes as your desperate pleas were ignored.
Between the tugging, your crying, and the pounding at your door, your heart in your ears, you could feel yourself becoming unraveled. “Please Sweetie, Sunshine go.”
Noctis huffed turning to the large one, “Gladio.”
“You’re the boss.” He stated.
You felt even stronger tentacles wrap around you, lifting you off your feet. Watching Ignis pour something on your hardwood floors and then a blue glow.
WET!
You were wet! You were soaking wet, and you couldn’t breathe! You were underwater and starting to panic, you weren’t that strong of a swimmer, and the moonlight looked like a little spot, you couldn’t make it! You were going to drown!
You let out a muffled shriek, as you felt something against your lips, only to find that it was Noctis, pressing his lips to your own, and something, warm travel from your lips down to the tips of your toes then back up.
“Breathe”
You took a breath, you were breathing underwater, “How?”
“Magic, come on.” He called, pulling you from the large one’s tentacles to his arms, cradling you close as he began to swim in a direction.
You were lucky that he was holding you, as anything outside of an arm's length from you was pitch black and rather frightening. You tried to pay attention to anything else aside from the scary darkness of the sea at night.
“Oh, oh, excuse me. What’s your name?” You called, to the large one from Noctis’s arms.
Those beautiful sunset eyes blinked in confusion, “Gladiolus.”
“Gladiolus, your markings are amazing, are they like a tattoo?” You smiled, cradled in Noctis arms. “I don’t know a lot about Octo-mers but you’re all so wonderful.”
As you allowed Noctis to move you through the water, you took in the others around you, only to find that one of Prompto and Noctis tentacles were wrapped around one another. Glancing to Gladiolus and Ignis as well, finding their own linked.
“Is that so you don’t get lost?” You asked.
“Hm?” Noctis asked, looking down to you in his arms.
“Do you hold each other tentacles to not get lost?” You repeated.
“Nope, we just do it because we like each other.” Gladiolus chuckled.
“Oh, are you married?” You cooed, hands to your chest.
“Married?”
“Um, it’s what you do when you’re in love and want to spend life with them?” You tried to explain.
“So are you and Noct married?” Prompto asked.
You blinked, “No.”
“So can we get married?” Prompto beamed.
You giggled, “Sunshine, marriage doesn’t work like that.”
“Then how does it work?” Ignis inquired.
“Well you normally give them a ring, and then before everyone, you profess your love for them, and you’re together for life.”
“So a mate?” Ignis stated.
You shrugged, “I guess.”
“Then to answer your questions, yes.”
As they moved you through the water, you found that it wasn’t as much a nightmare as you believed. The sea was calming and their idle chatter was rather nice to hear, you had started to drift off when suddenly you all were stopped. You glanced forward, watching as Ignis held his hand against something, pushing hard, there was a slight shimmer.
“Y/N, wrap your arms around me,” Noctis replied, as you wrapped your arms around his neck. “I’m sorry.”
You began to ask what, but suddenly you were being pulled, your ears popped and your stomach dropped but you clung tightly to the OctoMer, feeling one of his tentacles wrapped tighter around you. It felt like you were being tossed around for hours, but in reality, it was only seconds. You peeked open an eye that you weren’t certain of when you closed, only to shut them as a wave of nausea washed over you and a blinding light. You turned burying your face within Noctis’s neck, the pattern there cool on your flushed skin, even underwater you felt as if you were burning up.
“That barrier is to normally keep humans out,” Ignis explained. “Your sickness should be fine in a few hours.”
“Where?” You groaned, not daring to look anywhere, out of fear of food coming up. You felt a comforting hand, on your back, hearing Prompto cooing softly to you.
“Insomnia,” Noctis replied.
You wanted to gasp, the fabled city? There was no way.
“We should get you home Noct, your Dad’s going to want to know where you’ve been,” Gladiolus stated, as you all begun to move again.
As you hung tightly to Noctis, a golden tentacle rose, to your hand on the back of the navy Octomer’s neck where your hand rested. You smiled taking the tentacle, peeking your eyes open, attempting to view the city, but you felt so dizzy. You wondered if The Bends also happened in reverse.
You weren't certain if you had fallen asleep or simply fell into a trance, because you suddenly felt Prompto remove his tentacle from your hand, with a soft whine from you at losing one of your anchors to not passing out.
“Are you still not feeling well?” Ignis inquired, as you nodded your head in Noctis’s neck. “Here, Noct, I’ll take her to the infirmary, we’ll meet you later.”
You felt yourself being moved from Noctis’s arms of Ignis, you turned holding out your hand, eyes still closed. Only to smile as the back of your hand brushed against his cheek. “Sunshine?” You called as a tentacle wrapped around your arm before you felt the freckled cheek against your hand.
“Iggy will take care of you.” Prompto smiled.
You turned towards the shoulder of the Octomer holding you, “Thank you Ignis.”
With that you allowed Ignis to take you away. Your head resting against his shoulder.
“I’m sorry.” You whispered softly, almost uncertain that you had said anything at all.
“Whatever for?”
You whined weakly, your head was killing you, “If I had known that they had friends waiting. I wouldn’t have been so selfish and would have thought to bring them home sooner.”
Ignis gave a soft hum, “We can not change the past, but I will thank you for taking care of them while they were on land.” He glanced down, you had gotten your color back, but he still understood that your head must have been killing you. “It’s been some time since we’ve had a human here almost 800 years. I will see if we can delay you meeting the King until morning.”
“All right.” You whispered, before gasping. “King?”
*
The next morning you found yourself being flitted over by mermaids left and right. Flipping up your dress to look at your legs, and running fingers through your frizz ocean hair, and placing little seashells all over you all while giggling and asking rapid-fire questions.
After the third skirt flip, you couldn’t blame them, you were the fish out of water here. So you allowed them to touch at your legs and answer any questions they had about them or the land above.
Gladiolus had come to gather you, along with Prompto to meet the King, when you were told that you were actually within his Citadel. Having stayed the evening, and were treated so kindly
“Oh, oh am I fine enough to meet the King?” You asked, looking at your soaking wet dress, now littered with seashells and a netting type of skirt to make your dress appear longer. A seastar in your hair, attempting to keep it styled, and not floating away as it was obviously tempted to do. “I feel that I should be better dressed to meet him.”
“You’ll be fine, you look pretty.” Prompto smiled, holding your hand, pulling you through the water.
You allowed them to pull you through the water, up into a grand throne room, that was dry. You suddenly felt how heavy your dress was now soaking wet, along with your hair, only to gasp as you felt one of Gladiolus’s large hands on your shoulder, and then the feeling of wet leave you leaving you rather dry.
You giggled softly, “Thanks.”
“Y/N?”
You turned forward seeing an older man, with the same navy blue tentacles as Noctis, only a lighter shade possibly from age. That’s when you noticed that Noctis was standing, can you call it standing when they’re perched on their tentacles, beside him and Ignis beside him.
“So you are Y/N,” The elder man called, “I want to thank you for saving my son and Prompto.”
You gasped eyes darting to Noctis, “Your son?”
The elder man chuckled, “Yes, my Son Prince Noctis.”
You sputtered softly, before shrieking out, “Sweetie you’re a Prince?!.” This got you a chuckle from Prompto and Gladiolus at your sides, a raised eyebrow from Ignis and a smile from Noctis and the King. “Oh my goodness, I am so sorry Your Highness, if I have known that he had family waiting I would have thought to bring him back sooner. I am so sor…”
The King chuckled louder, something that felt kind, “Please no need to worry, you were not aware. It is not often that we are graced with a human. My son has explained that you risked quite a bit to bring them home.”
You smiled softly, looking to Noctis and Prompto, “I would gladly do it all again.”
“Please come forward.”
You moved from between the two at your sides, moving towards the throne, only to gasp as he unwrapped a tentacle holding a black pearl necklace. “Your Highness?”
“As a thank you for returning my son safely, this will allow you access to and from the city without the nasty after effects.” He replied with a wink placing the pearl in your hands. “Are you feeling better now?”
“ Oh yes very much.” You smiled bright, bowing, “Thank you, Your Highness!” Only to turn towards Noctis has he held out his hand, you reached out taking it.
“Well I do not wish to keep you, Ignis had stated you weren’t able to view the city last night, Please go enjoy.”
“Thank you, Your Highness.” You smiled, as Noctis moved forward, Ignis after him, moving you towards the others.
As they moved you back underwater, you couldn’t help but smile at the pearl within your hand, only to find Noctis before you.
“I can put it on if you’d like.”
You smiled handing him the pearl, before turning around. Smiling as he placed the pearl around your neck, it hung just right, right above your collarbone. You turned back to the other before giggling, “You never said you were a Prince, anything else I need to know?”
Noctis flushed slightly.
“Y/N did you want to go out?” Prompto asked taking your hand.
“Is that okay, if you guys don’t have to do anything else more important.”
“We’re in charge of watching you,” Gladiolus stated.
You smiled, “Whatever is easiest for you, I’ll enjoy. Oh, Gladiolus, what did you do back there, when you made me dry?”
“Anyone here can do it, we need moisture to stay alive on land.” He explained. “So we can draw moisture from surrounding sources if need be.”
“There’s so much, I want to know. You all are amazing!”
“Stick around and we can show you,” Gladiolus replied, as he motioned toward the guards to open the door.
You nodded softly, “I’ll have to hold you to that. Oh, and Ignis, thank you for taking care of me last night. I was unable to thank you last night.”
Ignis gave a soft nod in your direction as the large doors were opened all the way.
“If that’s...Oh my!” You gasped as the doors opened.
You knew you were underwater, very far underwater! But it was so bright and beautiful and warm! All of the building appeared to be made of coral and a smooth volcanic rock of dark blacks and greys. It hardly looked any different than a city above the waves, only more magical.
You honestly couldn’t wait to be shown around.
*
You were exhausted, that more than likely didn’t cover it. You were tired but in the best way possible! You honestly couldn’t remember the last time you felt this alive and happy.
Currently, you were seated on a balcony, well more on Prompto and Noctis’s tentacles as they had wrapped around you in a loose embrace, looking to a cloud of jellyfish overhead.
“This place is so beautiful.” You smiled, put that old shabby aquarium to shame.
Noctis leaned forward his head resting against your shoulder as Prompto mimicked him.
“You can stay, with us,” Noctis replied, only to draw back, as he felt you flinch.
“I...I don’t know if I can.” You whispered softly, fidgeting with your fingers. “I am a human, I don't even know how long I can stay here even with your magic.”
“I bet King Regis can work something out,” Prompto stated.
You shook your head, “I would like to stay, but I have an entire life on land. Granted it might be in jail.”
“So why not stay?” Noctis asked.
You shook your head again, you didn’t know how to explain it, that you were scared. So you did the only thing you could think to do.
You sat in silence.
*
“The king has given you citizenship, should you ever need someone to bring you back, come here and use this,” Ignis explained handing you a veil of water.
“Thank you, Ignis.” You smiled softly, standing on the beach just outside your apartment building in the middle of the night. You looked to the men before you, only to find that one was gone.
“Don’t take long to visit.” Prompto whimpered.
You nodded weakly, “ Oh Sunshine don’t cry.” You called moving out into the water, hugging him tightly.
“Do you really have to go?”
You squeezed him tighter, only stepping away when you felt him start to wrap around you, you knew that if you had allowed for him to get you tangled up, you would allow for him to drag you back, “I promise to come visit soon. I’ve got to do some damage control here and the first moment of free time I have, I’ll be there.”
Prompto went to reach out for you again, only to have Gladiolus to grab his arm.
“You should get going.”
You nodded softly, your hand going to your new necklace, as you watched the men move further back into the inky black water. You quickly rushed forward, “Can you, can you tell Swe...Noctis that I’m sorry.”
The silence you got before they disappear under the depths made your heart hurt.
As you returned home, you were stopped by security. It also turned out that the knocking at your door that night was security from your building getting the wrong apartment, as they were after someone smoking in the apartment on the floor above you. You got a nice little gift card for the disturbance that night.
When you managed to get the nerve to get into work on Tuesday, as of Monday you chickened out and call out sick, you weren’t surprised to be the only one within the building as typical at 6 in the morning. Most of your morning was spent staring at the empty tank before you. You remembering your little sweet Noctis curled up, only to awaken just before lunch. Enough time to point out what he wanted on the menu and then he’d wait for you to come enjoy your lunch dates. Even when Prompto showed up, you found that you would often spend time speaking with them and not getting your work done. The little sunshine seemed to really be interested in more what you were doing than food most of the time.
You found yourself staring at the empty tank when a hand touched your shoulder. You let out a scream before turning to the amused face of your supervisor.
“Aranea, geez you scared the hell out of me.” You gasped, as she tried stifling a chuckle.
“Sorry, I’ve got some questions to ask you.”
You removed your headphone, “Yeah what’s up?”
“Loqi said you left a little after the party, did you see anyone come in here?”
You shook your head, “No, I ducked out about 10. Why what’s up?”
The woman sighed, “Seems your little boyfriends were kidnapped.”
You stared, they didn’t know it was you, “What?”
“Yeah, we reviewed the tapes, but the systems so old back here. With all the tank glowing we got nothing but a huge blur. We’re getting a new key system installed and moving you upstairs for your safety.”
You swallowed, “When did they go missing?”
“We didn’t know until Saturday morning when they came to get them.” She explained. “Whelp Ardyn’s pissed but what else is new. You be careful leaving after dark, I don’t want anything to happen to you.”
“I will.” You called, as she left your area.
They didn’t know, none of them knew anything about you taking them. None of them were aware that you were the reason they had gone missing. You were off the hook.
“Oh man.” You gasped, holding your heart.
The hours at your work slowly started to blend to days and those days into weeks. It wasn’t that you had forgotten your promise to go back and visit, you just weren’t certain if you could. Noctis didn’t even come to tell you goodbye.
So when you came home early that Friday, you couldn’t really say that the curse that left your mouth upon entry to your house was very ladylike. Sitting in one of your large salad bowls on your coffee table was Ignis and Gladiolus. At least tinier versions of Ignis and Gladiolus, much like Prompto and Noctis it appeared they had a smaller size.
“Oh my...How did you get in here?” You gasped moving before the table, sitting on your knees to look them in the eye. Seeing they had filled the bowl with water and seemed to be doing rather well all things considered. “How are you?”
Ignis reached out a tentacle motioning towards the pearl around your neck.
“Oh, are you here because you want this back?” You asked, reaching up to remove it when you felt Gladiolus tentacle against your hand stopping you. “Is this because I haven’t been back?”
Stern green eyes glared at you, as he crossed tiny arms over his chest with a tiny huff.
“I...I want to come back, but I hurt Noctis. I didn’t think I was welcomed.”
Ignis let out a scoff, wrapping a tentacle around your arm before he began to glow.
“Wait, wait, let me change!” You called, pulling back, you must have overestimated your strength, as well as thrown Ignis for a loop when you pulled, as he went tumbling out the bowl with wide eyes as he latched to your wrist.
“Oh, oh I’m sorry, I’m sorry, Darling.” You called, cradling Ignis stroking his cheek like you use to do with Noctis and Prompto, unaware to his adorable blush. “I'm used to the two of you being stronger.” You replied carefully placing him back in the bowl. “Let me change real quick and we can go.”
You had changed within a nice black swimsuit you had purchased a little bit ago but never had the chance to wear it. Moving back into the living room, as you held out your hands for the two. They were a lot heavier than Noctis and Prompto that was for use, but you held them close as you felt that familiar magic wash over you and you became wet.
Almost immediately, you felt lips against your own, and that magic swirl through you allowing you to breathe underwater. Smiling as Ignis moved back. “Thanks.”
“Shall we get going?” Ignis replied.
You blinked, noticing the pink blush on his cheeks. Only to gasp as Gladiolus swam around you, pulling you into his arms as you wrapped your arms around his neck. Allowing for him to carry you to the Kingdom.
You had to admit that you really did enjoy the power of the pearl around your neck, as getting through the barrier this time was a lot smoother and you didn’t have to deal with nausea.
“Gladiolus I can swim now.” You offered, worried that you were taking advantage of his kindness.
“You’re fine.” He replied holding you in the crook of his arm.
As you were moved through the city you had to admit that this place still took your breath away it was so beautiful. You weren’t certain if it was due to the fact that it seemed so magical that if you blinked you’d think it was a dream.
Once inside, Gladiolus finally set you down, only for Ignis to take your hand within his own and move you through a part of the castle that you recall being where Noctis’s room was. Coming upon a door he knocked a few times before pushing open the door.
The room was rather beautifully decorated if a little junky, but then again you were sometimes finding yourself cleaning out his tank when it got a little junky of the snacks you would leave for him for over the weekends when you couldn’t make certain he was eating. In the center of the room, sat a very large, very beautiful bed, with navy and sunshine tentacles, fast asleep.
“He’s been like this since you left,” Ignis explained, releasing your hand, as Gladiolus shut the door behind you.
“Granted the guy is always sleeping, he’s been super mopey, Prompto too.”
You pulled your hands to your chest, letting out a soft coo as you floated forward, “Oh Sweetie, Sunshine.” You turned looking to Ignis and Gladiolus making certain that it was okay, only to get an encouraging look.
Moving over to Prompto first knowing he’d be easier to wake up, you sat down on the bed, reaching out as you stroked his cheek, “Sunshine, Prompto?”
Violet eyes fluttered away, as he uncurled himself from Noctis, sitting up as he gave a stretch as he yawned. “That sounded like Y/N.” He muttered, rubbing his eye, as his tentacles waved about, getting used to moving and untangling from Noctis. Only for his eyes to turn to you, as he blinked twice before letting out a sound of joy.
“Hi, Sun, Epp!” You let out a shriek, as all arms and tentacles wrapped around you pulling you forward, as he nuzzled you.
“You’re here! You’re here!” He cheered, as you giggled. “Did you just get here? How did you get here? Are you going to stay?”
You smiled, hugging him tightly, but it was a lot easier to avoid crushing him almost like he was doing you at the moment. “I’m sorry, I came back so late.”
Prompto gave you that bright smile, “Noct’s going to be so happy. We’ve been bored without you.”
You turned toward the still sleeping Prince on the bed, “Noctis.” You felt Prompto release you as you reached out, softly running your knuckles over his cheek. “Sweetie, Swet...Noctis.” You called, watching his eyelids flutter softly, his tentacles starting to stir. He was always so hard to wake up, so you moved forward, pulling his head to your lap, as you stroked his cheeks. “Noctis, wake up please.”
He seemed to be really fighting it at first, but slowly those blue eyes opened to you. Only to close as he nuzzled into your hand.
“Give me five more minutes Ignis.”
Ignis chuckled, “You’ll find that this is not me.”
Those blue eyes opened again, only to find you above him, “Y/N?” He called his tentacles moving up at the same time he reached for your face. “Y/N, you’re here.”
“Noctis.” You cried, your tears blending in with the water. “Can you forgive me for being so late?”
You quickly found yourself being pulled into another embrace, as Noctis buried his head into your neck. Only to smile as you were engulfed by Prompto again. You weren’t certain of how long you were settled within that embrace, but you had to admit that forever was not long enough.
“Y/N is there a length of time of how long you will be joining us?” Ignis asked, approaching you all on the bed, with Gladiolus now that the emotions were out the way.
“I can stay until Sunday evening. I have work on Monday.” You explained, still being clung rather tightly by Noctis and Prompto.
“Work, I thought you were fired,” Prompto replied.
“No, I guess they didn’t realize I was the one who snuck you out. It wouldn’t have worked if you guys didn’t do that neat disappearing trick. Granted I was very, very tempted to hit him over the head with something if he found you guys.” You giggled.
“Will you come back this time?” Noctis asked, his head within your lap, as you stroked his hair.
You flushed softly, reaching up a hand to stroke at Prompto’s head as well resting on your shoulder, “I figured you were upset at me, I didn’t mean to leave for so long, but I can come on weekends now if you’d like me to.” You offered. “I can come Friday after work and stay all weekend. Is that all right?”
Noctis pouted softly, “I saw you more when I was on land.”
You giggled, “But this way I can actually talk with you.”
“Don’t be spoiled Noct. Not often a lady will even put up with you.” Gladiolus chuckled.
Noctis wrapped his tentacles around your leg, holding you close, “But Y/N loves me.”
You smiled running your fingers through his hair before turning to Ignis, “I’ve wanted to ask, why are you within smaller form when on land?”
“It’s easier on our bodies, being within our original forms it can be draining. Typically on dry land, we can last possibly 3 hours or so. Being within smaller forms, allow for us to stay moist longer.”
“But you lose your ability to speak?” You inquired.
“Yes, it's more difficult in that form.”
“Amazing.” You beamed a hand running over one of Prompto’s freckles tentacles. “You all are so amazing!”
When you were dropped off this time on the beach late Sunday evening in a secluded grotto you had to admit you couldn’t remember the last time you were this relaxed.
“I’ll normally get home about 3, I’ll leave the bathtub full for you, or would you prefer the living room? I can leave the t.v on.” You offered, wadding the water.
“Whichever is easiest for you,” Ignis replied. “I hope you don’t mind that Gladiolus and myself will be picking you up.”
“Of course not.” You beamed, as you walked over to Noctis and Prompto. “You two be good, and don’t cause Ignis and Gladiolus too much troubles.”
“No promises,” Noctis replied.
You giggled shaking your head, before leaving forward pressing a kiss to his forehead and then Prompto. “I’ll see you Friday.”
You watched as they sputtered, then as Gladiolus wrapped a tentacle around the both of them, pulling them after himself as he dove in the water quickly followed by that flash of magic that meant they were going home. Now you had to figure a way to get out of this grotto.
You had to admit you were rather enjoying yourself now. You made it through boring weekdays only to have weekends full of fun waiting for you. There were even a handful of times that you would have someone take you home long enough to either call out early Friday morning or early Monday just to return back to the sea.
It easily became a second home, and you actually started wondering if you should take them up on the offer to stay forever.
You glanced toward the boring tank before you with the colorful fish, you never thought that you would think an aquarium boring, but to actually be able to touch and have the fish swim beside you was a lot more beautiful than watching them swim in circles all day more than likely bored out of their minds.
As a violet fish fluttered by you couldn’t help but giggle, when you first slipped and called Ignis Darling in his large form. You were extremely embarrassed and tried to back peddle but he only chuckled telling you that he rather enjoyed it, and was starting to feel left out because you constantly referred to Prompto and Noctis as Sunshine and Sweetie.
As another school of fish rushed by you looked to the scar on one of them, you nicknamed him Gladi Jr, not that you would ever tell your Gladdy Baby under the sea. You smile recalling as you held one of his tentacles as he bought you to Insomnia, stroking at the scar there, this lead to you asking all night how he got each of the larger ones, running a careful hand over them as he told you the stories.
A smile blossomed over your face, as you slowly thought about it, you really did care for all of them and honestly, the days without them were boring. You pulled up a word file, as you begun to search for the correct format and wording. You’d put in your two-week notice after you got back from your four day weekend.
After all how many girls got to say that they got to actually become a mermaid.
As you came home, you almost couldn’t contain your excitement, you were going to be meeting an old friend of Noctis this weekend, from the neighboring Kingdom of Tarabene. Stepping into your apartment, you smiled at the blonde head peeking out of the bowl, watching t.v.
“Hi, Sunshine.” You cooed, stopping long enough to press a kiss to his forehead, watching his little tentacles curl up to his face embarrassed as they always did as he turned a bright red. “I’ll be ready in just a minute.”
You raced to your bedroom, putting on the attire that the seamstress underwater made you for the visit of the visiting royalty. It looked very similar to a swimsuit but with a netted dress overlay. You may have got stuck in the off the shoulder top for a moment, but that didn’t stop you from racing back into the living room. Only to stop and grab a few jars, shoving them into a bag.
“Ready, Sunshine!” You called, moving back into the living room. Holding out your hand as Prompto climbed into it, you pulled him to your chest, as you felt the familiar pull of magic and then water rush around you. Purring as you felt Prompto’s lips against your own, pushing the magic into your lungs.
“Everyone’s waiting.” He smiled, pulling you into his arms. “What’s in the bag?”
“I brought some of those seaweeds that Iggy like, and Noct’s grilled fish. He’s been whining about it.” You smiled, as he moved you to Insomnia. “Plus your chips and Gladdy some gladiolus.”
“Huh?”
You giggled, “Remember how I said, he and Iris were named after land flowers. I found some fake ones so that he can keep them in his room.”
Prompto smiled, nuzzling into your shoulder, wrapping two of his tentacles around you, as he pushes through the barrier. “You’re too nice.”
“Only for you.” You smiled, waving to someone swimming by. Seems a lot of people knew of the human that hung out with the Prince and his mates. “Has Noctis friend arrived yet?”
“No Lunafreya and Ravus are supposed to show up later tomorrow,” Prompto explained, moving beyond the guards that were expecting the two of you.
“Oh good, I wanted to ask if someone could help with my hair, the current just loves sweeping it away.” You giggled, trying to smooth down your hair, only for it to float back up. “I don’t want to embarrass you all tomorrow.”
“You could never.”
You turned smiling at the three approaching you, “Hi everyone.” You cooed, as Prompto released you, allowing for you to float over, pressing a welcoming kiss to each of their foreheads.
You recalled how they found it strange at first, you figured that with each of them having to kiss you in order for you to breathe underwater a kiss to their cheeks or foreheads wasn’t too strange. When you noticed they never worried about kisses on the cheeks or forehead, it was mostly when you were going for their mouth that they flinched away, you found yourself very confused.
“Are you worried I’ll eat you?” You giggled playfully one visit. Only for them to explain, that it was one thing to press their lips against your own in order for the spell for you to be underwater, it was strange that you seemed to go towards their poison sac located in their mouth on your own.
After explaining it was how humans showed affection, it was easily agreed that you had free kisses to every other part, but to warn them if you were going for their mouth. The kisses started off friendly, but you had started to wonder just when exactly all of these motions started to develop an undertone of romance.
“What’s in the bag?” Gladiolus asked.
You giggled, playfully swatting the dark grey tentacle reaching for the bag, before pulling it to your mouth to press a kiss against one of the scars, “That’s for me to know. Noctis, Sweetie is your Dad around I wanted to talk to him about something.”
Those blue eyes widen slightly, “About what?”
“I don’t want to get any hopes up before I talk to him, but I promise to let you all know by the end of the weekend.” You smiled, as you begun swimming towards “your room”. You only called it that, because aside from the throne room, it was the only room in the entire citadel that was dry and King Regis had it made for you specifically for your visits.
As you stepped beyond the bubble, you smiled feeling Ignis take your hand as you become dry.
“So what did you bring?” Gladiolus asked, moving to your bed, pulling you to his lap with his tentacles, wrapping his arms around your waist once you were seated.
You began to pull out the treats you brought along with you, all the while realizing that this was exactly where you wanted to be. This was home, something of a comfort. Life on land wasn’t bad, but under the sea with them, was perfection.
Plain and simple.
*
You were nervous, you were so nervous. You honestly didn’t believe that you were supposed to be standing, floating beside Noctis and the others. You went to move but found a tentacle wrapped around your ankle dragging you back between Noctis and Ignis.
You swallowed nervously, only to feel a tentacle slide into your hand. Judging by the smooth feeling and the strength of the hold, you knew it to be the freckled one of Prompto, moving your hands behind your back you gently squeezed it, thanking him for the comfort as the doors open.
You heard Gladiolus chuckle as you gasped at the duo moving into the room. A young man with almost pearl like tentacles, a stern gaze of dual purple and blue eyes. A cape over his shoulders. While a woman beside him, wearing a white top and what appeared to be a jellyfish bottom, that almost appeared to be a beautiful ball gown.
You didn’t mean to stare, it was a horrible habit you got into from working at the aquarium. But did mer-people not understand that they were absolutely beautiful and your heart could not take it! You weren’t even certain has to how long you were staring only to feel Noctis tug you forward.
“Y/N, this is Lunafreya,” Noctis replied.
“Hello Y/N.” Lunafreya smiled, holding out her hands.
You reached out without even noticing what you were doing taking the others hands, “Hello Lunafreya.” You replied, she was even pretty up close, “You are absolutely beautiful.” You gasped only realizing what you said after it had slipped out as you flushed.
Lunafreya giggled, as she held your hands tightly, “You are as well. I was just nervous to say so.”
You smiled, as you turned looking to the man with the stern gaze, “You must be Ravus, it is an honor to meet you.”
That duel gaze sent another glare to you, only to nod softly before turning back to Regis.
Lunafreya leaned in, “That means he likes you.” She smiled, before gasping as she turned to dig in her shawl, before pulling out a blue flower. “A welcome gift from Tarabene, I would love for you to visit.”
“I would love to.” You smiled, as she placed the flower in your hair, happy that it didn’t float away.
This weekend actually solidified your need to leave the land behind. Here you weren’t just the little data pusher that was constantly looked over and forgotten about. Who spent her nights alone, and weekends ordering out while sitting on the couch watching old movies.
No beneath the sea, you were someone important and actually had friends and people who cared about you and loved you. So when you finally got a moment with the King, you almost couldn’t control yourself.
“Your Majesty.” You called, approaching him in the throne room, as he was in and out of meeting all day. “May I have a moment of your time?”
“Of course, Y/N.” He smiled, as Clarus moved over touching your arm to dry you out.
“Thank you, Mr. Amicitia.” You smiled, trying to calm your nerves as you moved before the King your hand wrapped around the pearl he had given you the first time you came to Insomnia. “Your Highness, I want to request if I...if it would be all right with you that I come to Insomnia.”
Regis blinked, “Of course, you are always welcomed, not just on weekends.”
You shook your head, holding tightly to the pearl, “What I mean is, I would like for Insomnia to be my home if that’s okay.”
Regis rose an eyebrow sparing a glance to Clarus beside you, “Just to make certain that I understand, you wish to live with us?”
“Yes, Your Highness, since meeting Noctis and the others, I have had the most fun, and I think, no I know that this is where I want to be. That is if you will have me.” You replied, your gaze held to the floor, afraid of rejection, you didn’t mean to ask this way but suddenly your nerves got the better of you.
Only to look up as you felt a tentacle underneath your chin, “Are you certain?”
You swallowed, before nodding, “Yes, Your Majesty.”
Regis smiled, waving you forward, before taking your hand, “I am happy to hear this, I have not seen them all so happy since you’ve come along. I won’t be able to change you into a creature of the sea, but I can prolong the spell that allows for you to live with us.”
You smiled, not able to stop yourself, as you leaned forward hugging him tightly, “Thank you!” You suddenly seemed to realize what exactly it was that you were doing, as you backed away, only to find that Regis had embraced you back.
“We can do it whenever you’re ready.” He smiled.
“Oh in two weeks, I want to make sure all my ties on land are done. So that they don’t come looking for me.” You smiled.
“Of course,” Regis replied. “Clarus, go get the boys, I’m certain they’ll enjoy this news.”
Clarus reached out placing a hand on your head with a chuckle, “I’m happy to hear you’ll be joining us.”
“Thank you Mr. Amicitia.” You smiled, as he turned to go gather the others.
The result of your staying was actually meet with quite a bit of squeezing, and on Prompto’s end tears which got you crying.
“This will mean that we can visit each other.” Lunafreya cooed, her hand stroking your face, to remove your tears.
You giggled, only to turn as you felt Noctis’s tentacle within your hand, you pulled the tentacle to your lips, pressing a kiss to it. It still confused those that were not within your little circle as to what a kiss was, or meant on land but after a brief explanation, it went over pretty well.
“Something wrong Sweetie?” You cooed, only noticing that his tentacle was curled around something. Holding out your hand, you were surprised to see a ring. “What’s this?”
Noctis flushed, “Figured if you were staying, then…”
You blinked, before finding three more rings in face, when it dawned on you, that conversation you had when you first were brought underwater. “Are you asking me to marry, you? All of you?”
“A recognized union of partners in a personal relationship,” Ignis stated quoting a book you had bought down for him and Gladiolus as they seemed to enjoy human literature.
You glanced to the black bands before smiling brightly, “Of course. Nothing would make me happier.” You smiled, as you slipped the bands onto your fingers. It felt heavy just a little, but it was a pressure that felt fine.
“Y/N,” Lunafreya called floating over to you, “What is marriage?”
*
You were counting down the next two weeks, as King Regis had stated that he was giving you an underwater mate ceremony the same day you got your permanent spell to breathe underwater.
Aranea kept asking if you were sure you wanted to leave, and that where ever you were going to take her with you. While Loqi appeared to rather indifferent, but you found a cute little charm on your desk from the man, wishing you luck in your future endeavors.
So on your final day, you took your time, glancing to the beautiful fish that you wished you could take with you. Maybe you could sneak back in and take them home. As you were staring at the large sea turtle you hardly noticed the man step beside you, only to gasp as you noticed it was Ardyn.
“Beautiful aren’t they?” Ardyn inquired, his gaze never turning from the turtles.
“Yea...yeah.”
“I’ve been told that today is your last day.”
You nodded softly, “Yes sir.”
“A shame, such smart women as yourself is hard to come by. You will be missed.”
“Thank you, sir.” You replied, pulling out your phone, you’d be late getting home. “It was nice working for you, Sir.”
“Yes, of course, Y/N.” He smiled holding out his hand.
You reached out, taking his hand, only to flinch as something wet and slimy surrounded your hand, that familiar of tentacles underneath. You gasped, as you pulled away, only to see red tentacles appearing from underneath his long black and white trench coat.
“What are you?” You gasped, pulling back, managing to back away from him.
“Don’t be that way, My Dear. I am aware that it was yourself that had taken the prince. Now, why don’t you be a good little girl and tell me where exactly you took him as it would not be well if you returned him and his little friend home.”
You shrieked, as you saw one of those red tentacles going toward your neck. Smacking the tentacle from your face, and stomping on the one going for your leg, as you raced out the building. Ducking out a fire exit as you all but ran home, racing into your apartment, as you noticed all four of them sitting in various arrays of your kitchenware.
“We need to go. Now!” You cried, as you begun to strip yourself of your attire, showing your swimming suit underneath. Reaching out to pull all of them your arms, as you felt that pull and then wetness.
You panted heavily against Noctis’s lip, as he pushed air into your lungs.
“Y/N, Y/N please calm down,” Ignis called stroking your back. “Tell us what’s wrong.”
You panicked, eyes darting around the sea, finding a strange comfort in the inky blackness. You also figured it could be the familiar tentacles, keeping you floating as you were in such a panic you had forgotten to actually float.
“There’s someone.” You swallowed trying to clear your mind to get it out.
“Someone?” Prompto asked, as Noctis scooped you in his arms, and begun to move you towards Insomnia. “What does he look like?”
“Red hair, gold eyes.”
Gladiolus huffed, “Don’t recall anyone like that.”
“Where did you see him?”
You knew you were panicking, you knew you were scared, you didn’t know why but unlike everyone else you’ve met, he was horrifying, “At work.”
“It was your last day, so you don’t have to worry,” Noctis replied, as you bypassed the coral that signaled you were closed to the entrance.
“No, he was an Octomer.” You cried this stopped everyone. “Noctis he was after you.”
“Y/n who was this man?” Ignis asked.
“Why I believe she is referring to me.”
All of you turned as if a screen was pulled from before the man. Only for Gladiolus and Ignis to move before you in Noctis arms.
“Ardyn.”
The man chuckled, removing his hat that managed to stay with him even underwater, giving a mock bow, “Y/N I guess I can forgive you, after all, you did bring me back to that which you have stolen from me.”
You gasped, they moved so quickly through the water, you weren’t even aware that Ignis nor Gladiolus had moved until Noctis and Prompto were given an opening to dash toward the entrance of Insomnia.
“Close your eyes and don’t let go,” Noctis stated, one of his tentacles wrapping around your waist another to your hands allowing you to hold onto him, as you buried your head within his chest.
You didn’t feel the tug or pull of the barrier, but instead, Noctis stopped, alongside Prompto, both of them covering you, before remaining very still. It felt like hours before you peeked an eye open before you was the ocean, calm and quiet. But you felt the arms around you, and the tentacles curling around you, moving with the current. They were camouflaging you from Ardyn, but they were so close to the barrier, why didn’t they just go in?
You let out a gasp, only to feel something cover your mouth, as Ardyn swam by his gold eyes looking around trying to find the three of you, a rather nasty gash on one of his tentacles. But what happened to Ignis and Gladiolus! You tried not to think about it. You held your breath as the red Octomer swam by, but still, the three of you sat in silence, waiting to see if he might circle back, it was best to wait until Gladiolus and Ignis came to get you.
You stayed huddled within their embrace, trying not to twitch or move too much out of fear of breaking your cover. Only to smile as you saw two figures approach the barrier, poor Gladiolus had a nasty scar on one of his tentacles, and Ignis was bleeding from a gash on the left side of his head. Both of them carrying weapons you hadn’t seen them wielding prior.
“Where’d he go?” Gladiolus hissed looking around.
“Better yet let’s find the others,” Ignis replied. “They wouldn’t go into the barrier out of worry that he would follow them in.”
Prompto was the first to remove the camouflage, showing he was the one to cover your mouth, as he waved the others over.
“Are you all fine?” Ignis inquired checking everyone over, happy to find that everyone was fine, one of his hands to your back. “Y/N?”
“Just a little shaken up, we should get inside and let my dad know about this.”
You held tighter to Noctis’s tentacle, eyes scanning the inky blackness of the ocean only to let out the call too late, as a red tentacle wrapped around your wrist, pulling you from Noctis arms. “Noctis!”
“Y/N!” Noctis yelled, his hand latching to your own holding on for all it was worth only to feel his fingers slip as you were yanked back to Ardyn.
You honestly never felt the full strength of a tentacle around you, the others always held you so gently, even Gladiolus who you had watched easily snap rocks in half with hardly a flick of his tentacle ever put strength behind the appendages when he held you. Now to have just one wrapped around your torso, trapping your arms to your side, and coming up to rest in the center of your chest, the tip caught in the chain of the pearl around your neck. Pulling just enough to cause the chain to dig uncomfortably in your neck.
Yet all of this was ignored for the slight burn that begun to appear on your chest where the tentacle rest in the opening of your swimsuit.
“Let her go!” Noctis barked, a blue sparkle in his hand as a trident appeared.
You let out a shriek, as the pressure increased around your torso as Ardyn begun to speak.
“After all I did to get you there, this little human ruined everything.” Ardyn hissed. “She plucked you right from my grasp, and returned you home and even has pardon from the King.”
You went to scream as a hand grabbed your chin turning you to Ardyn, but the pressure he had on your body only allowed a squeak. Even as you viewed his eyes turn back and inky, the same coming from his lips.
“And since you’ve ruined my plans for the throne, My Dear, I feel it only fair that I ruin your chance of happiness and joy. Were you to ask to join those under the sea?” He chuckled, his grip on your chin holding you in place as he leaned forward, his lips going over your own.
You tried not to inhale as you felt the slimy ink you believed to be a poison tried to move beyond your lips. Only for a tight squeeze of your body to become your undoing. You inhaled against your wishes as the black ink was forced down your mouth, as he pulled away.
“Didn't you know, My Dear, humans are bound to drown.” He chuckled, a string of black poison connecting the two of you, only to break as your vision begun to fade.
Ardyn narrowly avoided the trident coming toward his chest, only able to barely deflect it away but damaged the tentacle holding you causing him to release you and the two that came up to defend him.
Noctis stabbed again alongside Ignis, as Gladiolus quickly swooped in to grab you, putting you out of harm's way, just as a third trident appeared.
“Noctis!” Regis called appearing with Clarus and Ravus.
Ardyn growled, with nearly half of his tentacles not working, he wouldn’t be able to outrace them, but how, how did they know he was here? His eyes turned to the little blonde one, flushed and red from swimming into the Citadel. Tridents pointed at his neck, he held up his arms, a glare going to the being rushed into the barrier.
“We’ve been looking for you, Ardyn.”
*
It turns out that Ravus and Lunafreya’s visit was actually due to the fact that Ardyn had been seen around the area, and with the Octomer banned from both Insomnia and Tarabene, it was cause for alarm. As he had attempted on Lunafreya’s life, so with him behind bars for the moment all focus turned to you.
Any other Octomer would be able to expel the poison within their system, but a human wasn’t heard of. The large mark on your chest and your ragged breathing seemed to only cause more fear than hope. Not to mention since you were poisoned you hadn’t woken up and the spell had disappeared allowing you to breathe underwater. If not for Gladiolus having immediately placing his mouth over your own, trying to suck out the poison and keeping your breathing, they would have lost you long before they got you within your dry room.
It wasn’t uncommon for someone to find Noctis and Prompto within their smaller forms circled up near you, or resting just above the black mark down the center on your chest. Often times, Gladiolus or Ignis would have to go in and remove them to make certain that they stayed wet enough, only for them to take post at your bed when the younger two were not there.
It was during one of the rare moments that all four of them sat around your side when Lunafreya came rushing in. Holding a veil of something in a sparkling blue.
“I got it where they oceans meet, it supposes to be a cure for mer-people.” Lunafreya replied, not wanting to add that she wasn’t certain it would work with you being human.
Pouring enough in her hands, she softly pressed the water within your chest, only glancing toward you as you inhaled deeply but still remained unconscious. A soft hand pressed against your chest that glew a soft blue, slowly the glow moved up through your throat and out your mouth where you hacked up black with a soft cry rolling to your side.
The large angry dark mark on your chest never seemed to disappear as you wheezed weakly, when Gladiolus rolled you back to your back, so you didn’t move into the poison you had vomited up.
“Y/N are you with us?” Lunafreya called, adjusting you to sit up slightly in case there was more for you hack up.
You gave a weak cough, hardly opening your eyes as you let out a small laugh. Only to look down as you felt something on your chest, only to find Noctis and Prompto within their smaller forms clinging tightly to you looking up to you with large eyes.
“Sweetie, Sunshine.” You cooed, hardly getting your arms up around them to hug them to your chest, pressing a kiss to their forehead as they hugged you tightly, small tentacles wrapping around your shoulders as they nuzzled into your shoulders soft whines in their chest. “Don’t...cry, I’m...sorry.”
You gave what you hope was a smile, as you felt them shake their heads against your neck with soft whines and huffs.
“How are you feeling?” Ignis inquired, leaning forward, as you unwrapped an arm from around Noctis and Prompto to stroke his cheek with the back of your knuckles with a soft call of ‘Darling.’
“Like I’ve been hit by a bus.” You muttered weakly, only to giggle at the confused look you got. “Where’s Ardyn?”
Gladiolus stroked your head, “Don’t worry about that right now. Get some rest.”
“Gladdy-Baby.” You stroked at the large tentacle resting against your waist, feeling the slight tremble of the scared appendage giving it a soft squeeze. As a soft gasp leaving you as you realized how dry the two in your arms were, you moved to hand Noctis and Prompto over to Ignis. “Come on you two, you’ll dry out in here. How long have you been here?”
You felt the two dig little fingers in your shoulders, as tentacles wrapped around your hands with little frustrated huffs.
“Please, I’ll feel better knowing that you to get some sleep, and get wet again.” You offered, as you pressed kisses to their foreheads. “I’ll be here.”
Two pairs of eyes looked up to you, as you smiled weakly with a soft call of “Promise.” Seeming satisfied, the two pressed little kisses to your lips, nuzzling against your cheeks.
“Here.” Lunafreya smiled, reaching out taking the two from you.
“Get some sleep, I’m not going anywhere.” You smiled stroking their cheeks as they huffed reaching for you. “I’ll be right here, I promise.” Watching Lunafreya leave with the two younger ones, before collapsing back to the bed with a sigh.
“You okay?” Gladiolus asked leaning over you.
“Yeah, yeah just sleepy.” You whispered softly allowing for Ignis to adjust you. “No wonder you all are so strange when it comes to kisses to the mouth, but I’ve never been poisoned by any of you.”
“We’re not constantly doing so. Why should we waste if we’re not going to use it.” Gladiolus replied, stroking your right hand, where his and Ignis rings rested.
You hummed softly, feeling Ignis’s hand stroking your hair, and Gladiolus caressing your cheek. This was its own heaven, your eyes fluttering shut at being pampered this way, almost drifting to sleep.
“This doesn’t change you wanting to stay?”
You smiled opening your eyes, “No, I love you guys, I’m fine staying if you want me to.”
“Of course,” Ignis replied, stroking your hair.
“Then I’ll stay forever.” You giggled before the slight dizzy sensation returned. “I think I’m going to take a nap, don’t stay too long, I don’t want you to dry out.”
“We’ll stay until you fall asleep.”
Over the next couple of days, as you got your strength back, you found your room being filled with just a few things that you required from your home, mostly some cooking ware so that Noctis and Prompto didn’t dry out when they came over. You figured you’d have to give up electronics, but having the others with you, you wouldn’t really need the distraction.
“It's possibly a side effect from the ocean cure and the poison. We’ve never used it on a human.” You recalled Lunafreya explaining.
While the large dark mark on your chest hadn’t disappeared, you found that you’ve developed a very similar texture of the Octomer skin, among your arms and legs, almost as if you were wearing gloves and fishnet stocking that matched the mark upon your chest. You also found that you didn’t require a kiss from the others in order to breath underwater.
Not that, that stop them.
If anything it increased the kisses, as now you didn’t have to worry about being poisoned should you kiss them. You had become a better swimmer still unable to keep up with your husbands, but they never really seemed to mind carrying you around.
“Hey Y/N are you ready?” Prompto called, as you turned to your smaller husband.
“Yeah.” You cooed, having got distracted, after the long wait of you getting better and then the wedding you finally were able to keep your promise to Lunafreya about coming to visit. “You are all aware that the bachelor party is supposed to happen before the wedding right?”
“Bachelor party?”
You giggled shaking your head, “Nevermind, I guess we can count this trip as our Honeymoon.”
You were meet with more confused stares by your husbands.
“It’s uh a time for newlyweds to celebrate by themselves.” You attempted to explain, taking Ignis’s hand as he began to move towards the barrier of Insomnia.
“Celebrate our marriage, I assume?”
You nodded, “Yeah, among other things, but I’ll tell you that when we get a hotel for the night. So how long will it take to get to get to Luna?”
“We can take as long as we want,” Noctis replied, taking your other hand.
You smiled, as you felt the barrier part to allow you to start your journey. It would be a fine one.
Um sorry if youre not taking requests but could you make a like,,,, reverse 'Omens'? Like the guys are still really yandere but the reader is cool with it?
So this prompt was supposed to have waited but when I saw it, I was like “I…I need this more than air at this moment.” So…here we are the “Good” version of Omens. Also, I’m so happy you told me about yandere, because I knew the word but my mind just would not process it and I’ve been trying to think of it for like a month. Lol
~~~~~
You woke up with a start. Looking around the room that you were in. It wasn’t your bedroom, it was Noctis’s living room, in all honesty, you had no idea where you were. It didn’t look familiar. Stumbling from the bed that you were in you moved towards the cracked bedroom door.
You stopped suddenly catching your reflection in the vanity mirror. You were wearing something different, it looked like a very fancy tea dress. It fit absolutely perfectly, and you had to admit even you look stunning in it. You rose your hand up to find the necklace around your neck, finding that it was actually a magic dampener. Why did you have a magic dampener on?
You turned back to the door as you heard something familiar. A familiar laugh, and conversation. They were here!
Moving out of the room, you followed the voices down the stairs coming to a large living room.
“Y/N,” Gladiolus called, as the other turned to you stepping into the living room. “How are you feeling?”
“Fine.” You muttered, moving over to the couch, sitting in the empty spot between Ignis and Noctis. “Where are we?”
Noctis smiled, “Home.”
“Home?” You repeated, “You mean the palace?”
“Yes, your new home Y/N,” Ignis replied.
You blinked clearly confused, “But I don’t recall…wait why are we here?”
Noctis stood, your eyes following him as he moved over to Prompto telling the blonde to turn around. Running his fingers through the blonde locks on the back of the man’s neck, showing a very small mark that looked very similar to the Royal Emblem.
“I could not bare to see the outside world hurt the ones I love, so I’ve brought you here to protect you,” Noctis explained.
“Protect me?” You muttered, turning your eyes to Gladiolus and Ignis. “Do you both have that too?”
“Yes,” Ignis replied, turning his back towards your showing the symbol.
“Gladio’s a little harder to see.” Prompto smiled.
You blinked again shaking your head, “I don’t understand. What happened? Why me?”
“We love you, Y/N.”
“Love me?” You gasped, cheeks heating up, “But what about my outside life?”
“That was a little more difficult to cover up, yet as always Ignis managed to cover it up perfectly.” Noctis chuckled, moving over to press a kiss to Ignis’s lips.
“Cover what up?”
“Your death.”
“My Death!” You shrieked with a slight jump.
“Noct, we have to remember, Y/N isn’t used to this yet.” Ignis gently scolded, as he stood. “I’ll go fetch you some tea, My Dear to calm your nerves.”
You felt Prompto move over taking your hand in the empty seat where Ignis once sat, “It’s not all that bad Y/N. With you here, we can always protect you, and you wouldn’t have to worry about the dangers. We all love you so much, and here we show you that.”
“Love me?” You repeated your gaze to your hand holding tightly to Prompto. “Am I dreaming?”
“Nah, you’re awake.” Gladiolus chuckled. “But I can give you a pinch if you want to make sure.”
You looked up, looking to the three men still in the room, trying to piece together what exactly your life had become. “I don’t…I don’t think that this….” You gasped as you turned to Noctis feeling that dangerous aura of magic come off of him. “Noctis?”
“What don’t you think?” He asked.
“Let her finish her thought, Love,” Ignis replied, returning with a cup of tea. “I’m certain that she had a good reply.”
You felt that magic coming from the both of them, Ignis had known Noctis the longest, so their relationship was pretty much set in stone. That display of power from the both of them was angry, but you didn’t understand why. As Ignis handed you the tea, you didn’t even realize that you had grabbed it until a little spilled over the edge burning your hand.
Still, you took a second to gather your thoughts trying to find the right words.
“Y/N?”
“Thank you.”
“Come again.”
You looked up from the tea in your hands, “Thank you. I don’t think that this is enough but thank you. My life was so,” You sighed, “I was stuck in a dead end job, and basically working myself to an early grave and now…Thank you all of you. I do have one request, if I may?”
Four pairs of eyes exchanged glances before turning back to you and nodding giving you permission to ask.
You leaned forward placing your teacup down on the coffee table, fingers going into the chain of the necklace, “Can I please get the mark too? I’m worried I’ll break this, never been too good with jewelry.” You smiled.
Noctis turned to Ignis, who also seemed just as confused by the request. Only for the Prince to stand moving over to you. “Turn around and try to relax.”
“It doesn’t hurt but it feels funny.” Prompto offered, “You can hold my hand if you want.”
You giggled taking his hands, “I trust you, all of you.” You let out a gasp as you felt a pulse go through your body and blend with your own magic, it actually felt rather euphoric as a soft moan left your lips. “Oh my.”
“How do you feel?” Noctis asked, his hand stroking your hair as he removed the necklace.
“A little lightheaded.” You replied as you released Prompto’s hands to take up your teacup. “So just so I understand, am I allow to leave this room…uh apartment?”
“Yes.”
“You said this was in the palace, am I allowed to leave the palace?” You asked taking a sip of tea.
“Not without an escort of one of us.”
“That’s fine, makes me feel better. Never felt too comfortable traveling around the city alone, being a girl and all.” You explained taking another sip of tea. “Will you boys be staying here too?
“Yeah,” Noctis stated,
“I can stay whenever you want.” Prompto smiled.
“Same here, unless I need to go home to Iris,” Gladiolus replied.
“I will also be available,” Ignis stated, sitting down on the arm of the couch beside Noctis.
“Yay, I think it would get lonely here being by myself 24/7.” You giggled, “My last question, what about us?”
“What about us?”
“What are we, our relationship now?”
Ignis cleared his throat, “At the moment, as you have taken the brand, you are Noctis’s betrothed, granted we all do belong to Noctis.”
You cooed, “I get four handsome fiances?”
“To dumb it down, yes.” Gladiolus replied.
You giggled softly, “How lucky can a girl be?”
This seemed to throw the others off, you had known them for less than a year but you were so willing to throw yourself into this without a moment’s hesitation. Everyone had a little hesitation at first when getting themselves into this, but you just seemed to roll with the punches.
“Do you have any objections?” Ignis inquired, asking the question the rest of them were wondering.
“Not really, I’ve always wanted to be more of a housewife, and now I find that I get a restart, and I get to live like a Princess to four very beautiful men that love me. I know it sounds kind of silly but I guess I always had a crush on your guys and never thought I was good enough.” You offered placing down your empty tea. “It just still seems kind of strange to me that, this isn’t a dream. I’m worried that I’ll wake up and be back in my apartment.”
You smiled nuzzling his hair, “Oh may I make one more request, if that’s okay, Noctis?”
Noctis nodded softly.
“May I please get a kiss from my sweethearts?”
*
“Look here, Love,” Ignis replied, placing your veil on for the engagement interview, holding it out your face for now.
“One more, please.” You cooed, only to get a playful sigh from the man before you, as he leaned forward pressing a kiss to your lips. “I think that should hold me over until after the interview.”
The last few months were pretty much how you expected, granted there were a few hiccups the first couple of months, like any relationship. Yet there were rules in place for you to live the life that you wanted and in order to stay with Noctis and the others.
You recalled the time you were out in the garden with Ignis while the others were busy for the day. You held tight to the man’s arm, only to suddenly release it as you dashed forward, picking up something within in one of the plants. Turning to show Ignis your prize only to be seized by the arm by the man pulled to your feet.
“What are you doing?” He barked. “Were you trying to run away!”
“My earring, I thought I lost it yesterday.” You whispered showing him the green earring. “You bought them for me. “
“You can’t just do that,” Ignis growled.
You felt tears in your eyes before you knew what happened, “I…I really like them because…because they remind me of your eyes.” You cried as you stepped forward wrapping your arms around him tightly. “I didn’t mean to upset you. I’m sorry Iggy.”
Ignis sighed, as he stroked your head, “Apologies, Love. You can’t go running off like that.”
You muttered giving a soft nod, “Okay.”
“Come along, let’s go met Noct and the others for lunch.”
“You’re so pretty, Y/N.” Prompto cooed, helping you straighten out your dress.
“Oh, Darling.” You purred dragging him forward pressing a kiss to his lips, ruining all the straighten out he did to your dress.
Prompto did allow for you to get away with a lot more than the others, but even he had his limits to what he did and didn’t let you get away with. The poor thing had a jealous strike in him a mile wide, and if the love wasn’t between you and the others it wasn’t nice, such as the time you were watching him train with Gladiolus. Which in all honesty you were actually catching up on some reading in the viewing area alone, every so often looking in to make certain neither of you boys wasn’t in too deep.
“Do you need some assistance, Miss?”
You turned, the door was supposed to be locked, “Oh, oh yes. I mean no, I’m fine. Just watching my fian…my friends train.”
The soldier stepped forward, “This isn’t a place for civilians, here.”
You gasped feeling the man grab your arm, you didn’t recognize him, “Please stop, I’m fine I promise.” You let out a gasp, as a shot rang out hit the guy in the side as he immediately went down, the splatter getting over your dress and face.
“Sweetie.”
You turned large eyes to the door only to find Prompto there, that aura of magic spilling off of him. “Prom…toe?”
“Are you okay?” He asked rushing over to you pulling out a bandana, “I got it on you, here.”
You turned wide eyes to Prompto then to the man on the floor, as he cleaned off your face, “Prompto is he?”
“He’s fine.” Prompto replied, “Come on, let get you a nice bath.”
You didn’t recall seeing that guy again.
“You ready, Babe?” Gladiolus asked, tilting your head up as you stood on tip toe to get a kiss from him, only to have his sweep you off your feet.
“Ugh, I hate these interviews.” You moaned as he sat you down. “For like 5 minutes of airtime they talk to us for 2 hours, and it’s always the same questions. What dress are you wearing, are you excited to be a future Princess, blah blah blah.”
Gladiolus chuckled, “You handle them perfectly.”
“Glad you think so, if Noct wouldn’t look bad, I would walk out of them. I just want to marry my husband.” You playfully whined kicking your feet under your dress. “Will Iris and everyone be able to join us for the real wedding and not the broadcast one?”
“She wouldn’t miss it,” Gladiolus replied letting out a chuckle at your large smile.
You recalled how upset he got when you had accepted assistance from one of the guards at your ‘Betrothal’ ball, despite having been engaged for weeks at this point. You still weren’t use to your large ballroom dresses, and your heel got caught in your skirts, and you stumbled into a man, as he was helping you up and moving you somewhere to help you untangle. You were just thanking the man when Gladiolus moved in, a look of rage on his face at the other man touching you.
“Gladiolus.” You called trying to defuse the situation before things got too bad. “This fine gentleman assisted me, I was just looking for you or Ignis. Thank you, Sir, for your assistant.”
You watched the man scamper off rather quickly before you were pulled onto the dance floor by Gladiolus. You winched as you felt his large hand holding so tightly to your waist. “Gladdy please that hurts.”
“What the hell do you think you were doing?” That deep rumble in his chest surrounded you as he held you close.
“Gladdy, please.” You whimpered again softly, you could feel the bruising start. “That hurts.”
“Are you flirting…”
“I wasn’t!” You shrieked, trying to pull away tears in your eyes. “You’re hurting me Gladdy.”
You watched the rage leave his eyes as tears found your own, “Babe?”
“I would never, Big Guy,.” You whispered softly resting your forehead against his chest. “I wouldn’t…why would think that?”
That evening he held you rather tight apologizing for the bruises that needed to be healed and your tears.
“Last one.” Noctis yawned walking in the room after Ignis went to grab him.
“Noct.” You cooed, bouncing over to him, wrapping your arms around him tightly as you rested your chin on his chest. “Noct Sweetie, the midnight release is tonight you can play with me tonight right?”
Noctis smiled pressing a kiss to your forehead, “Sure.”
“Yay!” You cooed, pressing a kiss to his lips. “You ready to get this over with? Our last interview before the wedding, and our honeymoon.”
As you put your veil before you face to get to this interview you couldn’t help the skip in your step. The little story put together was that you weren’t in well enough health to actually show your face, and were a little on the shy side, so you often hide your face when on camera, but you were fine with that, as you often got to roll your eyes and sometimes even take a nap should it go on too long.
Still, as you sat down before this interviewer for the fifth time since you were brought home you couldn’t help but think of just the moment where you actually knew this was where you belong with them.
“Is it okay that we’re not at the party?” You asked, stepping into a room you had never been in within the Citadel. Only to gasp at the large floor to ceiling windows overlooking all of Insomnia, you quickly moved over to the window, able to point out landmarks and some of the stars, being high enough that the lights from the city didn’t interfere.
“Like what you see?” Noctis chuckled.
“It’s so pretty up here.” You cooed. “The city looks so different from up here.”
Prompto chuckled sitting on one of the couches, leaning against Ignis, who had take a glass of scotch from Gladiolus, “Do you miss it?”
“Miss what?” You asked pacing the windows, trying to make out one of the constellations.
“That.” Gladiolus motioned towards the window with his glass.
You turned from the window to them than back, “Sometimes I, Ah!” You let out a shriek as you felt Noctis grab your shoulder slamming your back against the window, before grabbing your chin forcing you to look to him. “Noct?”
“Do we not give you enough?” Noctis hissed.
You flinched as the dark magic rolled off of him, you turned frighten eyes to the others, hoping at least one of them would come to your rescue. One of them could normally assist when one or the others got like this and you couldn’t get a word in. But they all had that same look, and the magic was suffocating.
“No.” You tried.
“No, we’re not!” Noctis growled.
“No, no” You cried, “Please no, I don’t.”
Noctis pressed your back further against the window, you swear you heard a crack, “Are we not good enough for you, Y/N?”
You shook your head tears streaming down your face, as you rose your arms reaching out for him, pleading with him as you felt yourself starting to hyperventilate. “…you.”
Noctis release your jaw allowing for you to speak, “What?”
You shook your head, reaching out to take his hand, pulling it to your heart, “I love you, all of you.” You cried. “Sometimes I think about my life before, and how much it has gotten better. If it wasn’t for your love where would I be? Please don’t ever think I don’t love you.”
The pressure of magic released from around you as you let out a gasp, only to feel Noctis’s arms wrap around you tightly. You didn’t even hesitate to hold him back your face buried within his shoulder, nuzzling him softly.
“Oh, Noct I got tears all of your suite.” You hiccupped pulling away trying to push away your tears.
“It’s fine, did I scare you?” He asked, moving you over to the couch as Gladiolus pulled you to his lap, as Ignis and Prompto begun to clean your face.
You shook your head as you smiled towards him, “No, I know that you would never hurt me.”
“That’s right.” Noctis smiled, leaning forward pressing a kiss to your lips. “We love you too much.”
You cooed, “Thank you, Noctis.”
*
It was one of those rare nights where you were left alone for the evening, the boys had duties to attend to and you were stuck going to bed alone. So you fell asleep on the couch, waiting for one of them to bring your upstairs to tuck you in for the night. Only to feel yourself being carried by someone a lot earlier than you thought, and the arms didn’t feel familiar.
“Mm?”
“Shh, you don’t want to get caught?”
You blinked awake, that wasn’t one of you beloveds, only to struggle immediately, “Let me go!” You hissed.
“Stop it! I’m trying to rescue you!”
You slammed an elbow into their temple, as they dropped you, you felt a sting in your arm, but you managed to scramble away far enough, finding yourself in the garden. You turned pulling up your nightdress as you raced towards the door to get back in, only to find yourself tackled to the ground.
“What the hell? Did that bastard brand you?” The person barked their hand to your neck.
“Let me go! Noctis! Noc, mpgf!” You were muffled by a hand over your mouth.
“Y/N, what the fuck are you doing?”
You turned looking over your shoulder, this person looked familiar but you weren’t certain as to why. This only started your thrashing again, as you tried to pull away.
“I’ll get you out of here. I don’t know what spell those bastards have you under but we’ll break it. I promise.”
You dug your fingers into the ground, pulling up quite a bit of dirt before turning throwing it into the person’s eyes, getting a leg between the two of you as you pushed off. “Stay away from me!”
“Y/N, it’s me.”
You blinked the person finally taking shape, he was a soldier that you had maybe a little crush on a while ago and may have gone on a few dates but it didn’t feel right. “What do you want from me!?”
“Please, I can get you out of here. I have a car waiting, we can go anywhere you want, Hammerhead, Altissa, Fuck I’ll even take you to Tarabene.”
“Why would I want to go anywhere like that! My home is here. The men I love are here.”
“Men?” The man stepped forward taking your upper arms within his grasp. “Is it all of them? How far under a spell do they have you?”
“I’m under no spell.” You hissed, “I love them, and I sooner light myself on fire then let something like you take me anywhere. Now let me go!”
He seemed to think it over, before wrapping your wrist tightly, kneeling and tossing you over his shoulder, “You’re not thinking right, I’ll get you somewhere, I’ll take care of you.”
You kicked and scream, trying to toss yourself off his shoulder.
“I think you have something that belongs to us.”
You couldn’t stop the smile you knew that voice, “Gladdy!”
“I would care to know as to who this ruffin believes himself to be taking something that doesn’t belong to him.”
“Iggy.” You cooed.
“Ever heard of not touching what isn’t yours.”
“Prom!”
“Enough talk.” A flash of a sword.
“Noct!”
You saw another sword being drawn from your “hero”, the guy didn’t wrap your legs, so you kicked out disarming him. Within the disarray, he had dropped you hard on the ground, you felt the pain blossom in your shoulder, turning wide eyes to the man who reached for you, only for Noctis’s sword to meet his throat.
“Ignis, Prompto see to Y/N. I want a word with our little would be hero.” Noctis growled.
You allowed for Ignis to cut your bonds, as you gave him and Prompto quick little kisses as thank you, moving over to Noctis, and your would-be hero.
“Y/N are you so stupid that you don’t even see what they’ve done to you. You had a life outside of here, and now you’re just…”
“Living a better one. Even if I need a hero you would never be it.” You scoffed, “I’m fine where I am. Noctis my I make a request please?”
Noctis rose an eyebrow.
“Can we please throw this hero in the dungeon, death would be too kind.”
Noctis wrapped an arm around your waist, “Of course.”
*
You could not wait for this day! This day was absolutely perfect! Granted you couldn’t see your beloveds as it wasn’t “tradtion” for the groom, well, in this case, grooms to see the bride prior to the ceremony. So you were able to sneak away for just a moment.
Granted it was kind of hard to sneak anywhere within a large wedding dress that weight more than a behemoth. Still, you found your way down to the dungeon, granted dungeon didn’t really call it right, it was more a glorified holding cell. You only had one guest at the time, and that guest seemed rather upset to see you in your bridal glory.
“So you’re really going to go through with this.” Your Hero from months ago, you never even cared to relearn his name. “Gods, Y/N, I thought you were smarter than this.”
You let out a cackle, turning around as the symbol for the Kings easily vanished from the back of your neck, “Or maybe I’m getting everything I want.”
Wide eyes stared to you as you turned back around, “You, you have them under a spell!”
You rolled your eyes, “Are you really so dumb? No spell needed. My beloveds actually do love me so much, and I have to say I’m actually very fond of them too, they’re absolute sweethearts. Granted those tempers make things a little interesting.”
“So you’re playing them?”
“Oh, oh no, I really do love them. The thing being the entire set is just as nice as one and I lucked out that they all adore me. That wonderful power, do you feel it?” You smirked leaning forward. “I wouldn’t dare give that and their love up.”
“You…you bitch!”
You slammed a heeled foot into the glass wall before you, “Careful with the names. My husbands wouldn’t take to kindly to it.”
“Princess? Princess, we are ready.” A call came down the hall from one of the maids.
You spared a glance to your Hero, only to raise your eyebrows, knowing that the effect of your magic glare took effect, only for the glow to fall from your eyes, as the brand that matched three of your four beloveds returned. You turned up your lip giving the man a smirk, waving your ringed hand to the man, as you left.
Could I please request an imagine where the chocobros s/o is being held captive by Ardyn or the empire as a means to get information about the group and to lure them out and a rescue is staged? Can be successful or unsuccessful, whatever you like, if it isnt too much trouble. Thank you
I believe these two go together…This one just kept being the same story, so I made it an OT4 +1 because I kept forgetting who I was writing lol.
~~~~~~
Your head lulled softly to the side as you hissed weakly, trying to recall how it was that you got in this situation. Your eyes felt heavy and you felt like you were going to go under again, a soft pant escaping your body, as you coughed up blood again, destroying the beautiful dress that you were gifted from your boyfriends for tonight’s Gala, but they never got to see you in it.
Since all of them had to be at the Citadel much earlier than yourself, they stated that they would send a car to gather you. Only the car that arrived was actually a trap set for you. Those within the Prince’s entourage are often seen as bargaining chips. You heard one of the kidnappers say something along that line.
“Are you awake?”
You flinched at that voice, the slight motion causing your bindings to tighten further around you and have you muffle a cry in pain. This man was the worse.
“Do let me know if you’re feeling unwell.” The man chuckled, “Tsk, it looks like you’ve gotten blood all over your pretty dress.”
You let out another cry as he grabbed your hair, yanking your head back so you were forced to look to the man.
“Why the harsh look, I’ve been treating you very well since you’ve joined us last night.”
Last night, it was already in the morning, how long were you out? Your eyes turned to the redhead man as he still had a hold of your hair. How long was he going to keep you here, and you had to wonder, if or when he would get rid of you.
“Now, dear lady, how is your acting?”
*
The Citadel was in a lockdown, had been since last night. It wasn’t common knowledge of the relationship of the Prince and his closest friends had, that was not the King or his most trusted men. Yet when a note appeared last night consisting of a picture of you bound and gagged in a Nif Airship, along with a note of “More to follow”, King Regis canceled the party and had all of his men placed on high alert and refuse to allow his son or his friends to leave the Citadel walls.
“We have to go.” Noctis stated, agitated since he had not slept well last night after seeing the note.
“We are currently under a shut down enforced by the King, even you can not overrule that Noct.” Ignis replied, resting a hand on Noctis’s.
“Besides we don’t even know where they have her,” Gladiolus growled from the other side of the room. “That picture was on an airship, there’s no telling where she could be.”
Prompto sighed heavily, looking to the tea in his hands, Ignis had made it to calm down his stomach, it had grown cold a long time ago, untouched. Only to look up as Ignis reached for the cup, cradling the tearstained freckled cheek. Prompto gave the man a watery smile since the news broke Ignis had been seeing to the others, more than likely to keep his mind off of you.
The four young men turned to the door just after 8:22am when the heard a knock at the door, followed by Cor entering.
“We have received word from Nifhelm.”
The four men stood in an empty conference room, along with Regis, Clarus, and Cor, looking to a disk that had arrive less than an hour ago. With a silent conversation between them, the disk was entered into a player as the tv lite up brightly.
On the screen you sat, tied to a large plush red chair, arms held down by rope to the huge armrests, your head hung forward, your dress covered in blood, ripped to shreds. To each side stood a Magic Tek unit, one holding a gun, the other a shock baton. Everyone in the room worried that you were dead, only for a jumbled voice to sound on the screen.
“Wake her up.”
The M.T to your right, jabbed you with the stun baton, you screamed loudly as it jolted you awake. You panted heavily, before coughing up blood further ruining your once beautiful dress. Slowly your head rose to face the camera, unfocused eyes looking to the camera, blood going down your chin a huge bruise forming against your check, more littered your arms.
“Come now, as we rehearsed.”
You coughed again, only to whimper as the gun of the MT unit to your left, “Ki..King Regis, Prince Noctis, by…by request of Nilfhelm for the safe return of myself, this wish to make an exchange. Myself for the…” You swallowed, looking to the man behind the camera lens, as tears begun to fall down your cheeks. You weren’t a fighter, you had no magic. You were a simple person in love with men that were like a fantasy. You closed your eyes taking a deep breath as you continued, “For the Ring of Lucii, if these requests are not met by sundown today, they will…” You sobbed softly, trying to regain your composer again. “I ask that you please,
“Please don’t! I am not worth this! My life is nothing compared to those you protect! Please don’t, Ah!” You screamed as the MT on your left slammed the butt of his gun into your head, only for the one to your right to shocked you again.
“Stick to what we rehearsed, dear.”
You painted, spit coming from your mouth as you tried to regain yourself, turning your eyes back up to the camera as you gained your voice again, sitting back in the chair. Your hair a mess, your face swollen and bruised, your body ached everywhere still you smiled brightly, “I’m sorry, I’ve been a horrible actress. I would like to try again.
“King Regis, Prince Noctis, and to whomever else may be listening, I could not wished to have been born underneath a more lucky star than to be a part of such a beautiful Kingdom. I love it with all my heart. I’m sorry I could not return home, please forgive me.” You let out another shriek as you were shocked again, this time you head slumped forward and you didn’t move.
Only for the screen to go black and coordinates to appear quickly.
*
“I don’t care!” Prompto yelled. “They don’t care about Y/N but I do, I won’t let them keep hurting her.”
“Prompto, we can not go against the Court’s the orders.” Ignis attempted to reason, even uttering those words made him sick, he wanted absolutely nothing but to have you in his arms again.
As this was a matter of security, Regis had to involve the court, and the at this time it was the entire council against the King’s and Prince’s wishes to go on a rescue mission. Still, Regis dragged it on time and time again, attempting to appeal to the men to at the very least stage a rescue attempt to get you back. Yet the council stood firm, refusing to sacrifice even the smallest resource in an attempt to return you home, at the moment everyone was on a recess to calm down and clear heads.
“It’s not fair, she’s not a fighter!” Prompto growled tears escaping, “She’s hurt and scared, she was trying to be brave so we wouldn’t worry. I don’t, I don’t want the last memory of Y/N to be like that. We were supposed to make sure nothing bad happened to her! We, we promised her.”
Gladiolus sighed, as he walked over to the small blonde pulling him forward to hug the smaller man, stroking his head, “None of us do, Prompto. There are just rules we are required to follow.”
Ignis turned to Noctis who had been silent the entire time, “Noct?”
Noctis growled, his Father was doing everything in his power to get you back, he couldn’t just sit here. Yet Regis had often told him, that fighting with one’s words was always a tougher battle than swords. Still, that sad smile you gave, he knew the other heard it too, your soft call of love to the four of them, apologizing because you failed them, have accepted a death they could easily save you from.
“Noctis?” Ignis called as the Prince stood.
“Prompto’s right, it’s our job to protect Y/N. The council will keep talking in circles until sunset when it won’t matter. We’re going to rescue, Y/N.” Noctis growled as he moved to the door, only to stop as it opened.
“There you are.” Regis called, stepping into the room, flanked by Clarus and Cor. “The recess is almost over, Noctis I need you to understand…”
“I’m going.” Noctis replied, cutting off his Father, he refused to let anyone stand in his way.
Regis looked taken back, before chuckling, “I’m glad to hear that, what I was going to say was that, we’ve supplied a car. We will handle things here.”
Noctis turned to his three boyfriends in the room, seeing that they were all just as shocked to hear the news. “Dad.”
“We’ll keep the council busy,” Clarus replied, “You all focus on your mission.”
“ You will be able to reach Y/N quickly if you take the back road, should you require back up, we will have a medic and two troop vehicles trail you should you require them,” Cor replied handing Ignis the keys, and a smaller walkie.
Regis rested a hand on Noctis’s shoulder, “Bring Y/N back to us.”
*
“Are you awake?”
You attempted to move your head, but at this point, you figured that whatever it was that they broke inside of you was still bleeding and you more than likely would die from internal bleeding shortly. Still you were happy that the man who had entered your room was the small blonde. At least you hoped it was him, since you were blindfolded now, and the red-headed man allowed them MT units to rough you up pretty good.
“…mm.” You muttered weakly.
You heard a sigh of relief at this, “That’s good, can you lift your head?”
You could hardly manage that, as you groaned again.
The blonde made another noise before you heard him move away from you and the woosh of the door opening, “Highwind come here.”
“What is it Loqi?” A female voice called, “Shit! What did they do to her?”
“The Chancellor wants us to keep her alive, he believes that someone will come for her.”
The woman spoke again, “Where is the Chancellor?”
“Returned home.”
The lady scoffed, “Typical. Leave us with the mess.”
“It was a foolish plan to start with, risking the life of a young girl, who’s not even involved in any of this.” A new voice growled.
“High Commander Ravus.” The two called.
You recalled that name, he was Noctis’s friend’s elder brother, you flinched as something brushed your face.
“Careful, take this.”
You felt something push against your lips, but with the previous torment that you’ve been through you rather just die from your injuries than allow them to poison you.
“I assure you it’s not poison.” Ravus’s voice called, “Aranea untie her blindfold, Loqi post a lookout.”
You blinked rapidly as light flooded your world, attempting to sit up only to gasp at the throb in your chest.
“As I expected, you more than likely have a few broken ribs and internal bleeding. This will slow it down but you’ll need to seek medical attention.” He replied, pushing the blue bottle to your lips again.
“…wha…why?”
“Why what?”
“Help…” You called weakly.
Ravus sighed softly, still tilting the bottle for you to drink, “This was never your fight.”
You smiled weakly, as you cupped his hand holding the potion. You knew all Nifs weren’t bad.
The one name Loqi quickly ducked back in the room, “The Chancellor wants us on the bridge, seems the Prince and some of his friends just go on board without the ring.”
Ravus stood, “Aranea get her out of here, take her to the starboard side, I’ll lead them to us, give her up, without too much of a fight.”
“Ruin my fun.” Aranea chuckled.
Loqi leaned back into the room, “They’ve taken out about 24 units, we need to go.”
You reached forward taking Ravus’s hand, as he turned toward you, “Thank you.”
Ravus gave you a nod before he followed Loqi out the room.
“All right Princess, we’re gonna play a little game,” Aranea called blindfolding you again, before lifting you up. “Try to hold on. It would be a shame if you died when your heroes just got here.”

This wasn’t good, they were drawing too much attention, they hadn’t triggered an alarm just yet, but still MT units were coming quickly and they hadn’t a chance to try and look for you. It was only a matter of time before they were noticed on board.
“In the video, they look to have her in some kind of boiler room or something,” Gladiolus grunted tossing two more MT units over the side of the ship.
“They would have moved her by now, I believe the holding cells are typically just below the deck, toward the center of the ship.” Ignis retorted, back pressed against the hallway wall, his daggers drawn, only to notice blonde hair and red armor go by. “Gladio.”
Gladiolus peaked around the corner and smirked, “Got it.”
As soon as the smaller man stepped around the corner, he was thrown to the floor and had 6 foot 6 of muscle holding him down. “What the, get off me!”
“Loqi Tummelt, if I am not to be mistaken.” Ignis sneered.
Using Loqi as a map, the group followed his directions to the top of the airship, only to find a person in rather sharp black armor holding your body, and from the pale look of your face and the way the person was holding you it wasn’t certain of how long you were to stay with them.
“Highwind!”
The person turned, a spiked mask hiding their face, only to turn again as they saw Ravus approach them from behind. “Any plans now High Commander?”
“Give me the girl,” Ravus called, as you were hand over to the man, turning your head to avoid coughing blood onto his white jacket. “Stay with me a little longer, you’ll be home soon.”
You moaned, vision still hidden behind the blindfold, home sounded lovely. You could maybe wait until then.
“Give us back, Y/N!” Noctis barked, his sword drawn.
“Drop your weapons Prince Noctis, or the girl goes overboard,” Ravus called above the howling winds
You felt Ravus’s fingers dig further into your dress, to make certain the exact opposite would happen. He was rather the sweet gentleman.
“Do it, and we throw pipsqueak over too.” Gladiolus hissed, holding Loqi by the back of his armor, his free hand twisting the man’s right arm to his shoulder blade. This threat was real.
“Fair exchange, him for the girl,” Ravus called.
Noctis glanced over his shoulder at his boyfriends behind him, each ready to take the offense to get you back. “Drop your weapon.”
“You as well.”
Noctis held his sword out, vanishing it back to Armiger, feeling Prompto and Ignis follow his lead as Gladiolus’s broadsword wouldn’t fit in the narrow airship passage, and he was tasked with restraining Loqi.
“There shall be no interference from your friend.” Ignis called standing back as Gladiolus shoved Loqi forward, “An even trade.”
As Gladiolus and Ravus moved their hostages to the center of the ship, both waiting for the other to betray or make an unjusitce move.
“Hand her over,” Gladiolus growled, his grip on Loqi a little tighter than need be.
“Don’t do it.” Loqi growled trying to ignore the pain in his shoulder, he had a part to act. “That girl is our bargaining chip if they came to rescue her think of what else we have.”
Ravus turned to the younger man, hopefully, it was convincing, he felt your breathing start to become more labored, he couldn’t drag this out, but needed to make certain that Loqi came out this live as well. “Here.”
Gladiolus quickly shoved Loqi away as he cradled you in his arms, not daring to turn his back on the Nilfhelms before him.
“You have 5 minutes to get off my ship.” Ravus hissed, turning away from the others, sparing a final glance to you. Hopefully, you would make it.

It was a race at this point, once back on the ground, Ignis called the medic, who had determined that you indeed had two broken ribs and had internal bleeding and had gone into shock twice before they had made it back to the Citadel.
It was another sleepless night in the Citadel.
“We’ve got her stable, we just have to wait now.”
So they waited 3 days, you had fallen asleep and had visitors time and time again. Many of the Crownguard had left flowers and stuffed animals around your bedside. Even King Regis made it a point to stop by every day to visit you, and had the doctors personally update him on your situations as he was footing your hospital bill. He had stated that it was the least he could do since the Council through everything still refused to assist well until after sunset and you were already in the hospital.
Which came to the conclusion, they were looking to find someone to put the blame on for acting out and going to rescue you without proper protocol. Only for the entire Crown Guard to state that that did it, and they couldn’t Court Marshal all of them, who would else would be there to protect their old asses. So it was dropped.
“Hey, Iggy.” Prompto called moving into the room with the others, pressing a kiss to the man’s cheek. “How is she?”
They had all taken shifts to watch over you, once you were out the OR and given the clear by the doctors.
“She’s gotten her color back, and the bruises are starting to fade. We received some lab test back and it would appear that she had traces of potion within her.” Ignis replied, setting down some paperwork, that he had been working on.
“So what, they were pumping her just to hurt her?” Gladiolus scoffed, pressing a kiss to your forehead, frowning that an airmask was over your lips due to the collapsed lung.
“I don’t think that would be true, that potion was saving her life. I also don’t believe that Ravus was the one in the video.” Ignis replied, as Noctis all but crawled into his lap, a common occurrence.
“Yeah, when you think about it even when Ravus handed Y/N over he was nice about it.” Prompto replied, pulling up a chair, only to pout as Gladiolus took it instead. Squeaking as he was pulled onto the man’s lap.
“Indeed, Ravus may be of the enemy side.” Ignis stated, adjusting Noctis.
“But even Ravus doesn’t have that big of a stick up his ass.” Noctis scoffed, getting a disapproving look from Ignis.
“I feel we could have phrased that better.” Ignis sighed.
Prompto leaned forward brushing your hair from your face, before noticing the small Moogle beside your head, “Iris stopped by today?”
“Last night, she thought that Gladiolus was still here. She talked to Y/N for a bit.” Ignis replied.
As the small talk grew for a few minutes…
Everyone turned as they heard the EKG machine suddenly pulse, they had watched twice in the OR it flatline, but each time you were brought back. Quickly it fluttered to life as your eyes fluttered open, only for you to inhale deeply before you begun to cough heavily, rolling to your side as you begun to shiver, ripping your IVs out.
Prompto jumped from Gladiolus’s lap as he ran into the hall to grab a nurse, while Ignis and Gladiolus attempted to stop you from causing more damage to yourself. Only to step back as a few nurses entered the room, getting you under control, they checked your vitals and found that you were fine simply too much adrenaline in your body when you awoken.
You smiled weakly as the nurses left the room, stating they would bring you up some food shortly. Only to turn to your four boyfriends, step towards the bed once they gave the all clear, only for you to lower your head and start sobbing.
“I…I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
“Y/N.” Prompto whispered, stepping forward tears falling from his eyes.
“Y/N, you have nothing to apologize for.” Ignis replied.
“I do, if I was better this wouldn’t happen and you wouldn’t, I’m sorry.” You cried trying to push away your tears as quickly as they fell. “I’m so useless and stupid.”
“Come on, Babe, don’t talk like that,” Gladiolus whispered stroking your head.
Noctis stepped forward, cupping your cheeks as he lifted your head, forcing you to look into his eyes, making certain you saw the tears before he pressed a kiss to your lips. “We will always look for you.”
You sobbed loudly, as he stepped away allowing Ignis to press a kiss to your lips next, followed by Gladiolus and finishing with Prompto, yet your tears kept falling. You tried to stop them when you were aboard the ship but now.
“I was…I was so scared and I…” You cried harder, it felt so much like when you were a child. Stuck inside your bedroom as a thunderstorm raged outside, lighting up your walls as you cried for someone to rescue you. You were powerless then and now, it was frightening to not have that control. To be reduced to that level of fear again. You wanted comfort more than anything right now, so you held out your arms, much like the child your believed yourself to be at this moment.
Only to find them full of love in a moment.
A fortress of love surrounded you, one that you felt was also shaken to the core. You had played the part of someone who wasn’t afraid, but all you wanted was this moment more than anything, so you allowed your tears to fall and you sobbed into a shoulder before you. You were alive enough to do so.
Two days later you were released from the hospital to the care of your boyfriends, your first stop was to the Citadel as King Regis had requested your presence since he had not been able to see you since you woke up, aside from video chat.
You were placed in your wheelchair once reaching the top stairs, having had explicit instructions that you were to not put any strain on yourself until you healed 100 percent, even though Gladiolus insisted that he carry you around, which was shut down by Ignis, as you needed to properly heal. You knew that part would be easy.
The harder part was stopping yourself from hyperventilating each time you closed your eyes for extended periods of time. Lucky King Regis footed for the best physiatric in the Kingdom, and you had wonderful boyfriends to cuddle those horrid thoughts away.
You were wheeled into the Citadel only to have a maid stop you at the door.
“Excuse me, Miss. Y/N, His Royal Highness has provided you a change of wardrobe.”
You looked back to your four boyfriends who also seemed confused, “I’ll meet you in the throne room.” You smiled, as the maid took over wheeling you to change. Only to find a replica of the dress that you were wearing the night you were stolen.
“We had given it a looser fit. We were all rather worried, and are happy to see you are faring better.” The maid smiled, helping you to stand to assist you in getting undress as you grew teary-eyed. “Oh goodness, we’ll have to fix that, the King has very exciting news for you.” She giggled, “While we get you ready, would you care for tea and cake?”
As you were wheeled into the throne room, you were shocked to see the council there. Clarus had explained the fight they had to go through with you and how the old buzzards refused to assist you, not that it stopped Regis from doing what he wanted when he brought Iris for a visit. Only for your attention to turn to Regis upon the throne, Noctis beside him.
“Y/N, I am happy to see that you are faring better.”
You smiled softly, makeup did wonders for your bruised face, “Thank you, Your Majesty.”
Regis chuckled, before straightening his spine, clearing his throat, “It seems that unfortunately, you were unable to make it to the Gala, so we will have to this without the paparazzi should you not mind.”
You shook your head, confused as to what he was referring to, “Of course not, Your Majesty.”
Regis stood, only to stop as he heard someone on the council clear their throat, “Does the council have anything to say?”
“It does not matter of her injuries, she will have to reach out to you.” One of the men stated.
Noctis bristled, along with the other men on your side in the room, as he glared down to the men, “She has just been released…”
“If it shall please the court.” You called, as you stood from your chair, stumbling to your heeled feet. “I do not mind Your Majesty, as there are rules, even I cannot be excluded from.”
Regis looked rather concerned, “Are you certain?”
You smiled bright to the court, the biggest middle finger you could do without actually extending your finger,“It would be my honor.”
You lifted your skirts as you moved toward the stairs, smiling as you felt Prompto and Gladiolus flank you to catch you if you lost your footing and stumbled backward. The climb took you quite a bit of time as you moved to the platform just below Noctis and Regis’s throne, thankful for Ignis to offer his arm to you as you stood before them, with a soft sway and very heavy pant mostly leaning on Ignis for support.
“It had been requested for quite some time, and that this thought has been on my mind, yet it seems that there are some that did not believe you deserved this,” Regis stated, his eyes cutting to the council. “Yet the bravery you gave throughout all of this, proves them wrong. The Kingdom is lucky to have one a loyal as yourself. If you would not mind, kneeling.”
You smiled feeling Ignis to one side and Clarus step to the other helping you to kneel in your large dress, before stepping away. You watched as Regis held out his hand, watching a beautiful sword appear in it.
“With the power vested in me, I pronounce you, Lady Y/N of the Lucian court.” He called tapping your shoulders with the flat end of the blade. “It is my honor as your King to bestow this upon you, and I believe no one deserves it more.”
You smiled as tears began to fall, as you bow your head, it still hadn’t completely sunken in just yet, “I am so honored King Regis,” You turned blurry eyes to Noctis beside him, “Prince Noctis. I will do my best to live to your expectations.”
Regis gave you a smile,“I know that you will, as you already have.”
You cooed, as Noctis stepped forward, offering you his hands to assist you in standing, before giving you to Ignis, who helped you to the stairs where Gladiolus was waiting. The large man fed up with your pushing back your healing as he scooped you up easily, and descended the stairs, Ignis and Noctis trailing after him, to your wheelchair where Prompto was waiting.
“I do expect that you will all see to her recovery,” Regis called. “Once Y/N is back to full health she will be taking her seat on the council. It is about time that we get some young fresh ideas.”
You smiled brightly, you were truly born underneath a lucky star.
