If you are an alter/nonhuman, reblog and answer these questions!
(don't be afraid to write a lot, do what you want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
1/ Which category of alterhumanity do you belong to?
2/ What/who is/are your type(s)? (if you have any)
3/ Do you experience shifts? If so, can you tell us your most common shifts and your strangest cameo shift (if you've ever had a cameo shift)?
4/ How do you experience your alterhumanity in everyday life?
5/ What do you think of the community?
6/ What are the things that make you most comfortable and euphoric in your alterhumanity?
7/ Are you experiencing species dysphoria?
8/ What advice would you like to say to a young alterhuman who has just awakened?
9/ Do you have/want to have gears?
10/ Do you know/have any theories about the origin of your alterhumanity? If so, tell us! (all beliefs are legitimate)
11/ Tag someone/a creature to answer these questions!ㅤᵕ̈

dog
for all dogs to use! can be holothere, transspecies, therian, nonhuman alters or just anyone who is a dog in any way!
i’ve been watching a lot of nonhuman shorts on youtube lately, and i feel the need to say that i’m quite sad (and then pissed off cuz of that) about how many of them are just skinny, in-shape young kids (around my age or a few years younger than me).
i wanna see my fellow chubby out of shape teens who don’t do quads that often, because of how out of shape and chubby they are, even if they love quads.
i wanna see my fellow out of shape teens who pull a muscle when doing quads, or are out of breath right away, or are completely sore afterwards for days.
i wanna see my fellow chubby teens who’s quads are clumsy and not graceful because we have all that extra weight on us.
i wanna see my fellow queer chubby teens who bind and who don’t do quads that often cuz their chest doesn’t stay in place right or stay flat and it makes them feel gender dysphoria.
i wanna see my fellow chubby, out of shape teens doing this stuff. or not even teens! anyone of any age! that isn’t skinny as hell and that isn’t in shape!
i just would like to see some more nonhumans like me please.
yeah, that’s about all. *goes to lay down in my little den again*
hey there! we adore your blog, our host hyperfixated on it last night and learned so much about intersex people, variants, and traits!
i know this isn’t exactly what you were asking for, but i’m curious as to your opinion(s) on radqueers / transid ? i’d love to see a big ramble about it!!!
(we are not rq or transid)
Hi! Very glad that your host enjoyed reading our content! We are excited to be putting more intersex content out into the world soon!
And we are open to being asked our opinions about anything! It's just that nobody was sending us asks about our own life or thoughts when we posted that people could ask us anything, so we gave up on that lol.
As for our stance on radqueers and transids? Honestly it REALLY depends. We generally identify as radqueer critical.
Some identities are genuinely harmless xenogenders or pocket identities. However, we believe that a lot of radqueer identities ARE harmful, and that people should be held accountable for these.
At the same time, we also think a lot of radqueers are misled vulnerable people. Often, they are people in systems or people with other forms or neurodivergence.
The usage of "trans" and "cis" in these communities is very concerning, because it implies a person can transition into something that they simply cannot.
The TLDR is that Exo-, pseudo-, or source- prefixes could be very useful for these scenarios, and people really should take advantage of them more when trying to explain their experiences. Same for systems with the dyspar-/par- prefixes.
Also, desiridae and dissomei are terms that exist and can be used as well.
"Transharmed/Cisharmed" is a very concerning case, as having a kink for harm or exomemories/pseudomemories for harm shouldn't be treated like some sort of transitionary identity. You cannot "transition" into experiencing trauma, and it's very odd that people label it as such! There are so many other terms people could use that don't treat it as a transition (ie; the name of the specific paraphilias, exo-PTSD for alterhumans and systems with source trauma, etc)
We hate how terms like "transracial" have been stolen as well. Transracial/transethnic, as far as we've read, used to be an identity for adoptive children or otherwise children of a different race than their family, who were raised within the culture of their family. And then radqueers took it and turned it into an identity for people who want to be a different race, alterhumans who have an identity of a different race, or people who have sysmates of a different race. If a system has a sysmate of a different race, they can use the term disparethnic/parethnic or (if their exomemories are of a different race) exoethnic! And we don't know of any terms for singlet alterhumans who have similar experiences, but we'd personally use pseudoethnic or sourcethnic, or something along those lines.
Using transracial to mean you are "changing your race" or have racial dysphoria is just really twisting the usage of the trans/cis terminology.
Our next nitpick of the trans-cis usage is the "transabled/cisabled" terms. These terms are very clearly being used by people with somatoform disorders (ie; factitious disorder, body integrity dysphoria, conversion disorder, etc), which is not good! People with somatoform disorders deserve compassion and help, but treating disability as a state of transition further influences these desires or urges they have, and actively promotes self harm. If a person who is mentally ill is told that they can "transition" into disability, then they will seek to do that rather than get help, because it's easier to self harm then to get psychological help.
Similarly, when systems and alterhumans use these terms, they are spreading the misuse of the trans-cis prefixes. Systems can use parabled, pardivergent, etc. And surely, alterhumans have terms they can use for this too somewhere, we just haven't looked into it, but exo-, pseudo-, and source- could be used in theory (ie; sourceabled)
"Transspecies" isn't necessarily a bad thing for alterhumans to use, but it was stolen by radqueers as well. Radqueers who stole it often use it to imply you can change your biological species, which is not true, and perpetuates delusional disorders and pro-contact zoophiles to take it a bit too seriously. Alterhumans can transition through body modifications, but the idea that they can change their biological species is incorrect. They can change their species presentation, and change their body to reflect it, but that's not how radqueers often treat this term.
"Transage" has the same issue as the (radqueer usage of) transspecies, treating age as something a person can transition into, opening the door for pro-contact pedophiles or hebephiles to take it too seriously. It's better to use terms like age regressor, age dreamer, age dysphoric, or (for systems) the countless other age related terms. And again, pseudo- and source- terms could be used by alterhumans.
The term atypical dysphoria (or atypical incongruence, when used as an umbrella term include atypical dysphoria, atypical euphoria, atypical disconnect, and atypical fluiphoria) exists for people who experience detachment/attachment towards traits like race, disability, species, age, etc. Which is a good way to explain the discomfort without perpetuating the idea that it's something a person can transition into.
Desiridae and dissomei also exist and can be used in such a way.
I feel the need to say this.
I AM NOT AN AUTHORITY ON ALTERHUMAN LABELS!
[Plain Text: I AM NOT AN AUTHORITY ON ALTERHUMAN LABELS!]
If I get something wrong, PLEASE do not assume that it's on purpose! I'm not saying that you can't be annoyed or upset or offended. But getting snippy and aggressive, acting like that's going to do anything, isn't the answer either.
I MAKE MISTAKES! THAT'S OKAY!
[Plain Text: I MAKE MISTAKES! THAT'S OKAY!]
What WOULDN'T be okay is if I didn't take responsibility for the accidental misinformation. But if you look through the linked resources in my pinned post (specifically the one on why k word is a slur and the harms of miagendering) then you'll see that I have absolutely no problem being corrected when misinformation is accidentally spread.
I'm going to make mistakes. That. Is. O. Kay. That's okay. I'm not perfect. I'm not super, in-depth, always up to date, nerded out on all alterhuman identities and their definitions.
Please, please, please stop acting like the person on your screen is intentionally being malicious when past behaviors prove that that is not the case. A gentle correction is all I need. That's it.
I'm writing this because I've gotten a few things wrong about a few different identities. And while I greatly appreciate the people who have gently reproached me, I've had a couple other people who get passive aggressive or accusatory. Please, please, please. I never want to offend anybody. You're feelings are valid but lashing out at me as if I did it on purpose, IS NOT. Please just let me know that I got it wrong, maybe give me some reading material. I genuinely don't mind.
Thank you. That is all. 💞
thinking about the fact i'm an aus kelpie (sometimes)
what i'm realising is that i'm not really a kelpie (behaviour wise), i'm just a domestic canine that happens to look the most like a kelpie - so i call myself a kelpie
i also think i'm specifically a dog in the way i go about relationships (both platonic and romantic), which is why i see it as more of a flicker, because i don't necessarily always feel like a dog - and as such don't always see myself as a dog - i just kind of. am one.
everyone freeze, seb is coming out of its bedding .ᐟ
more about my nonhuman identity/identities ✶
i am a physical nonhuman/alterbeing, transspecies, and a holothere. i am in a constant state of both equal parts human and nonhuman, and can sometimes feel more or less human. i technically fall under the therian, otherkin, otherflicker, otherlink, and otherhearted labels/identities, but i mainly just refer to my “types” as my nonhumanity and leave it at that. i don’t like being referred to as any of those (therian, otherkin, otherlink, etc.) and don’t like being called an alterhuman, only nonhuman or alterbeing.
here’s a list of my nonhumanity:
angel. vancouver coastal sea wolf. deer/winged deer. maned wolf. nurse shark. dark fey. vampire. whale shark. dragon (seawing/silkwing hybrid). wolfdog.
this blog will mainly focus on/be for my deer identity, though. i shift between being a regular white tail deer and a winged white tail deer. i usually see myself having spots and antlers, so a younger stag.
i don’t have phantom shifts, nor mental shifts, and don’t experience much species dysphoria unless i am greatly thinking about it. on a day-to-day basis, i am satisfied with being human and being perceived as human. being nonhuman is a part of my identity that i don’t need to be greatly understood or spoken about, and it is simply a part of me that is so integral to myself that it is “casual” in the daily life.
i would like to stress that this is not the experience for most, and everyone’s experience is valid and true, even if they are different.
