One of my favourite hawker stalls. Really love the soup stock which takes hours to prepare. Each portion comes with generous servings of minced pork, pork liver and fish maw, topped with braised mushroom slices. Owners Mr and Mrs Lee have been running the business for almost 40 years, now at Serangoon Gardens Food Centre. Had breakfast with Minister Grace Fu and some of our MCCY GPC Members at Mayflower Market and Food Centre on Wednesday. We took the opportunity to update them about the nomination of our Hawker Culture for UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Our Hawker Culture is a total cultural experience of the place, the food and the people that binds us together as Singaporeans. I was recommended by the local MP Henry Kwek to try the many popular food stalls. I chose pork rib noodles. 🙂 After breakfast, I had a great time chatting with hawkers and patrons, and finding out what our Hawker Culture means to them.
