okay so NOW i raise you this -

postgame komahinanami where komaeda, upon waking up, begins to isolate himself from literally all of his peers in a mixture of extreme hurt, betrayal, and second-guessing- he doesn't want to bother hinata, but certainly not nanami, who's been struggling to support the rest of her class, which is hurting so badly as is- which is probably why nanami ended up gravitating towards him almost immediately once she realizes what's going on, given how terrible this poor guy's fucking luck cycle is😔

every day i think about komahinanami postgame and chiaki and nagito becoming friends and all three of them helping each other learn self worth and how to live through all the hurt they’ve been through and i just

ok ehhem SO add on to my last ask

so the two of them (nanami and komaeda) sit down and talk about it and komaeda's voice starts to break so he pauses and puts his head down for a moment to try and collect himself while holding back tears

and then.

And Then .

he goes to apologize, and, just as he opens his mouth, nanami wraps her arms around him and pulls him into a tight, comforting hug. he pauses for a moment, far from used to being be touched casually, much less hugged, and then hides his face in her collar, since he's, you know, fucking crying by now and all. so neither of them talk, and for a while they just sit there, before he pulls back slightly and wipes his eyes, asking her why she would do that. she looks at him, and, in response, tells him that he's her classmate just as much as any one of the others, but that she's also his friend, and that he's hers- that she cares about him, and that he doesn't deserve to be the only one to be isolating himself from the rest of the group in the way that he is, at which point he starts to cry again.

she asks him why, and he takes a moment to respond, before quietly telling her that this is the first time he's ever had anything even remotely close to a friend.
