Overgrown Home Pt.1
The front gate had been overgrown. The sign above, reading 'Welcome Home,' was sun bleached. This park had been abandoned for years. Y/N had seen the place in a forum page about abandoned theme parks. It had once been a rather popular local attraction, but it stayed local. Not many people had heard about it. Y/N themselves hadn’t even known about the attraction, and it was just in the forest behind their house. Not much was known about the place other than the puppets that were featured in the attractions.
Poppy, a large rainbow bird, was a baker. She taught baking lessons in her home as well as dealt with first aid. Sally, a puppet with a star head, ran plays for the children, and if you paid a little extra, the children could even participate in the plays. Julie, a ‘rainbow monster, as the posters called her, played games with the children. Not much is known about exactly what games she played, but it had to have been pretty basic. Frank, a grey puppet with a frowning face, taught children about bugs, and sometimes Julie would feature and teach about flowers. Barnaby was entertainment; he did comedy and sometimes did tricks for the children. Howdy, a green ‘cattapiller’ with four arms and four legs, ran the gift shop. Eddie, the mailman, a dark yellow puppet with red hair, often helped children write letters to their favorite neighbors and would give the neighbors the letter or artwork. There were also promotional images that he sold notes from the neighbors to children. And then there was Wally and Home. Wally was a small yellow puppet with blue hair who would sell paintings of the children and neighbors, and sometimes taught painting lessons with Home. Home was, well, Wally’s home. A big red house with a blue roof and moving eyes.
No one knows why the attraction was left abandoned, but whatever it was, they seemed to have wanted to cover up, as the location was far too overgrown for only being abandoned for maybe 50 years.
Y/N went around the back of the location and climbed the wall to avoid getting caught by any possible security, but there was none. The attraction was completely dark with no signs of life aside from bugs that have claimed this place as home.
