The Oxventure Trans Headcanons Tournament Bracket is here! All trans headcanons are welcome! From your popular headcanons where almost all of Andy's characters are trans men, save for Morven who is a trans woman, to headcanons you like but you've only thought of in passing like, oh I don't know, trans woman Lug! If you'd like to participate then enter your headcanon into the Google form under the read more up until the end of February 3rd (in my timezone) and it'll be part of a multi-week long event where we discuss various headcanons and vote on them in polls to decide which the community like the best! And maybe find new headcanons folks will adopt in the process! And of course, you are welcome to submit as many headcanons as you'd like!

Along with the Google form, there are a few rules under the read more, please make sure you read them. Like the previous tournament bracket, this bracket will also have a set of tags all posts will be tagged with! They are "Oxventure Trans Headcanons Bracket" and "OxventureTransHeadcanonsBracket".

Rules:

- Don't hate on any of the headcanons, this is supposed to be lighthearted and fun, not discriminatory.

- Don't include smut stuff in your propaganda or reasoning, obviously exploring characters' relationships between their transness and sex and stuff like that can be very fun and interesting but the person running this bracket is aroace and would prefer not to read a bunch of propaganda/reasoning for this tournament bracket pertaining to sex. However, saying a character would have bottom surgery or a penis or a vagina is not smut stuff, those are just body parts, not the act of having sex or jacking off.

- Not a rule, but just in case it isn't clear! Intersex headcanons are allowed!

“They feel very nonbinary to me, maybe it's the more masculine outfit, maybe it's because it's a waistcoat, maybe it's because they're wearing pinstripe pants, but it definitely has to do with their magic. Their whole thing is that they're a magical huckster, or as they call it, a card wizard, and that feels very gender. Also sort of like they're trying to explain their gender and find synonyms for it so it's easier to explain. Also they're just so cool and unusual and the sunglasses and the outfit definitely add to that like unusualness, for a lack of a better word, they have that I really vibe with.”

Trans Man Billie:

“He has to sort of overperform masculinity since his show is all about being rough and rugged and masculine and I think that translates well into him being trans, and maybe a fear that he's not masculine enough (he's incorrect and I hug him) and that's why he puts in so much effort to be masculine. And you *know* that he'd have top surgery scars and make up a thousand danger and action-filled stories about how he got those scars instead of the truth because it's more fun that way and he has to keep an air of danger and rough and ruggedness about him.”

“- Edvard is constantly trying to prove himself against other's expectations. He also has a very clear persona that he displays when he wants people to take his innoventions seriously (although it crumbles in blind rage the second anybody mentions Astor, of course) that reminds me somewhat of transmasc posturing.

- The Crimsnight episode!! Edvard seeing his childhood self touches me so much. At first he is reluctant to see his childhood self, which sort of lends itself to the idea that Edvard is afraid because maybe it's a version of himself he doesn't want to see anymore (pre-transition). But Lilith says "Wouldn't you be so happy if you knew what you grew up into?" and I get very emotional imagining a sad little trans boy seeing an adult trans man for the first time and realizing there is a way

- I have a headcanon that one of the things Astor did when he discredited Edvard was he also outed him. Nobody cares, obviously (that's nothing compared to horse murder), but I think Astor would still do that anyway. Just to kick him while he's down.”

Trans Man Robin Oatcake:

“- robin is often underestimated both in terms of his strength and his character. his kindness is seen as softness and weakness, and the people he grew up with treat him as less of a man for it

- i am obsessed with this idea of both morven and robin being trans but in opposite directions. so they each want to make the body their own — morven is in a position where she has to start over and robin doesn’t want to feel like he is going backwards/detransitioning. that particular kind of push-and-pull really fascinates me"

“I can see her (pre-canon) just sorta demanding everyone accept that she's a woman now. So what if she likes her hair short and her flat chest, she's still a woman. She also likes doing dark makeup, and I think she chose Morven and Hellwain as her first and last names when she transitioned and they're *very* important to her. Probably chose Asmodea or just straight up Asmodeus as a middle name, too. She will also absolutely Sorcerous Burst a transphobe as she should”

“The angst potential of her being basically sent back to square 1 of her transition (people know her by a different name and pronouns, her body doesn't look like hers anymore) is simply magnificent and also explains some of her feelings towards Robin

“She and her brother were such a duo that she picked a name to match with his and to honor him. She's also a very self-made woman what with growing up poor in the bayou and now having a very successful monster-hunting business so why not just make her a self-made women in another way too!”

“She doesn't even know being a trans woman is possible, but I can see Robin saying something like "oh, women are so pretty, I wish I was as pretty as them" or "I wish I was born a woman, it sounds like so much fun" and Cressida and Willowfine exchange glances. Also she'd loveeeeeee skirt go spinny!!! She'd love all the little accessories too and she'd feel so loved when Cressida and the others take her out shopping and do her hair and makeup!!! “She/they One-eyed Jack for the win. Also, the gender blending name and the fancy masc presentation - Jack has some fun gender stuff going on. Also, her appearance is mostly a glamor, so she had actively chosen every bit of it outside of full wraith mode - very gender of her. Another thing - i got the vibe that Jack is supposed to be a dark counterpart for Garnet, and since Garnet gives a more "rolling with her gender regardless of labels", maybe Jack collects and holds onto genders like the things she won while gambling.”
