Petition to replace the sexist phrase “man up” with mando up. Reasons:
It’s gender-neutral.
There’s nothing more badass than a mandalorian.
You can reply by shouting “Oya Manda!” and pump yourself up.
It sounds enough like “man up” that half the people who hear you won’t realize what you really said for a good ten minutes.
Some of them will never figure it out.
Doesn’t matter. You know what you said.
You get to picture yourself in a T-shaped visor and a suit of beskar.
You don’t need more reasons.
Oya manda.
it is always so funny to me when anyone translates 'shabuir' as 'bastard' or 'jerk' or any other relatively tame insult, like. it is literally shab+buir. 'buir' means parent. 'shab' is translated as 'screw' or similar only because the primary source for mando'a is a series of tie-in novels for a video game that's rated teen;
shab means fuck. it's okay, the fun police can't hear us now, shabuir means motherfucker in the most literal possible sense

Oya Manda!
Ordo had seen beskar gam quite a bit. However none as shiny as the set he saw now. Kal buir’s was well worn and scarred. He watched the lone Mando and considered approaching him. He didn’t have any idea how the man would react, though.
He thought he would go for it, anyway. Ordo pulled on Kal’s Bantha skin jacket and walked toward the Mando.
“Vode,” Ordo called to him.

it’s wild that clan lok hasn’t been mentioned since the handwave on darvannis for a BH outlander until the pub side onderon daily, which. my own opinions about artus and clan lok aside, it’s mostly just annoying that anything mildly important pertaining to the mandalorians continues to be nonexistent or relegated to easily missed context.
but like. given how swtor continually treats the mandalorians as pawns to the sith and cannon fodder to the alliance, though, I’m really not surprised.
