what inspired you, or how did you come up with the name for your oc? when making your oc, if you use a faceclaim, did you choose a faceclaim first or come up with a design before finding a faceclaim who fits?

((I imagine you're looking for answers about Val.

I don't remember why I picked the name Valère, other than it was an older French name (initially I based the culture of Vanitas around the Gaul, but had a hard time finding names-there are a few sprinkled about with NPCs, including Dosso). Looking it up now, it means 'strong', and had I come to pick it now it might be to contrast how he grew up to (battle-wise) be the weakest of his siblings.

The only thing I knew I wanted for a fc was that I wanted Val to have red or red-ish hair, because I wanted all of the siblings to be redheads. Eventually I settled on Rin bc he just had the right vibes about him, and because there was so little to work with for Apollo and I'm not good at making icons or finding scanlations. An unspoken headcanon for the difference is that the darkening of his hair is a reflection of his transformation being connected to malice and anger, and not wanting to resemble the rest of his family line (out of spite for Cyril/Farren and out of shame for Pascale).))

I was talking about this earlier with Chrome on the dash but I feel like the idea in the fandom that everyone in the Pokémon world worships Arceus because they like to conflate Arceus with the Abrahamic god is kinda silly

Like in Alola people worship the Tapus and in Sinnoh people worship the lake trio and Dialga and Palkia, in PLA the title of almighty Sinnoh gets used by different clans to refer to Dialga or Palkia because they don't even know that Arceus exists, Hoenn has the mythology with Kyogre being the deity of water and beginnings associated with the Cave of Origin and Groudon being the deity of the earth and endings associated with Mt. Pyre with Rayquaza being the savior of the region in Draconid mythology, Unova has the heroes and the dragons of truth and ideals, so on and so forth

The average person shouldn't even know that Arceus (or Giratina for that matter) exists at all

Leon and it's not even close he's a nothing character whose purpose is to reuse ideas previously done better by Red and Cynthia and I think that any other character in SwSh would've been a more interesting champion than him

I know that Blue (the rival, not the girlboss) has a very popular ship going on with Red but I can't see him as anything other than a straight frat bro I do not claim him

Also I think his ship with Red is actually horrible for his character and does him a major disservice so he's better off being straight
