A thing you may notice , especially from this page , is how the color overlay is actually done

In GBR we actually do it 100% manually , the color layer being just 50% opacity normal blend mode and the "mixed color" just being another color from our palette we put on same layer

This so that colors remain very clear and vibrant , and also cuz if use add blend mode , their colors would just not show up at all on light bgs , having all colors be specifically chosen and hand painted in is a lot easier

This also does mean we have to mentally mix colors in our head every time do this auaaguh
