#BananaNutCrunchMuffins, was my answer when mama curiously whispered in my ear asking what was I making. As her ray of sunlight streamed through my kitchen window, so did my memories. Pops was a professional baker but mama did the baking at home. When I was a kid, I would keep her company while she measured and mixed looking forward to whatever warm goodie she was making. Cakes & cookies were her #bakedgoods of choice. I've always been a #muffin girl when I bake. It's not so exact, since baking involves more science than feel. I manage cobblers & cookies, maybe a single layer cake. I'm in the process of resetting my home kitchen, my #pandemicpantry has become unwieldy. Like mama, I'm a gatherer of things including ingredients. As my reward for phase one of sorting, well that & a couple of overripe #bananas, I found myself inspired to #bake. As the air filled with the intoxicating aroma of butter, sugar & vanilla, I was filled with gratitude. Mama enjoyed making tasty treats. She taught me the joy of creating love you feel & taste with all your senses. As I bit into a warm #muffin, it was tender, just sweet enough just like her.
