Popee the Performer “God of War” Theory

(Sorry if it’s a theory already said before; I personally haven’t found any theories on this)

My own “God of War” PTP theory revolves primarily on Kedamono’s mother, the White Wolf, who can be regarded as ‘God of War.’

In this case, Kedamono’s mother has wiped out all traces of mankind, where Papi and Popee (and maybe Popee’s sister and mother/caretaker) are the only human beings left behind in the barren wasteland that is now earth. Although much could’ve happened in the time between Papi abandoning Popee and Popee living on his own, it is possible that the White Wolf’s onslaught happened right after Popee’s abandonment. This could also be another additive to Popee’s hate to Papi.

In Popee the Performer, there are no other signs of life outside of the circus. Surrounding the circus is a desert filled with ruins and bones, with no other trace of humanity left. Hell, there is never even an audience in the circus! The only evident ‘audience’ is the mural of painted people on the wall on the far side of the courtyard. But even those drawings of people are sketchy and crude; possibly displaying how Popee (if he drew the murals in the first place) has rarely seen other people.

The frog and the elephant car, Paola, can also be considered traces of survivorship of the White Wolf massacre. But unlike the frog, Paola has evidence of possible amputation, possibly from a time of great violence. It’s also confirmed that Paola was once a whole elephant. Paola’s head could have been blown off from impact and reused for the use of a living car. But what could have destroyed the elephant so violently? Answer: Paola was most likely a victim of the massacre of humans and the rest of the living things on planet earth.

Then there’s simply the way the White Wolf is portrayed. Sketchy and crude like the audience mural, the White Wolf towers over the horizon with raggedy white fur and red eyes. Most of the time, bomber planes swarm the skies above it. The bomber planes could have something to do with the destruction, but it also could be metaphorical. Every single character also appears to be aware of the White Wolf, including Popee and Papi, who both see her in a mass vision. The frog, however, seems to be the only one who knows that the White Wolf is Kedamono’s mother.

Then there’s the way Kedamono acts when compared to his mother.

Always hiding his face with a large assortment of masks, Kedamono pretends to be human. Kedamono also resorted to brutally eating the frog when it saw his face and ran around screaming “Kedamono’s face is—!”, showing just how much he despises his own face. When the frog reveals itself again it adds, “Kedamono’s face is just like his mother’s.” Kedamono seems to go practically insane, shuffling through an assortment of masks as the White Wolf reveals itself over the horizon again. Kedamono most likely knows what his mother has done, and doesn’t want to resemble her in the slightest.

If I have any incorrect information, that’s fine. Don’t blame me for it; I just wanted to put this out there for fun and dump my thoughts out into the internet LMAO. Hope it was at least fun to read tho :b
